I am a 59 year old LPN. I am currently a traveling nurse. I make $100,000 a year with four weeks off for recouperating at camp. I am looking for remote work because the 13 hour days and 2.5 hours of daily driving is burning me out. I cant afford to take a pay cut at this time. I also would like to work from the lake house. I would move closer, that 2.5 hr is crazy. Or maybe look into furthering your education, it may be worth it, and I'm sure you are smart enough.
I have my BSN, and have thought a lot about getting my DNP. It's only 3 more years of education, which, when you break it down, is not much. I'm not sure how much more for an Lpn. I would imagine no more than 5 years.
Have you heard of "pals"? They are basically call center nurses who help coordinate care and care locations between Doctors.
