I would think the manager would gladly honor your request, you are an extremely loyal customer and buy cart loads of items consistently. Very short sighted on the manager’s part. I’m thinking the cost of similar buttons and the time to sew them on would have given this beautiful jacket new life. Like you said You can’t Save Everything. Great finds as always! Love your videos! ❤❤
@@sharonjett449 Me too I had a job for asap! Oh well she made the decision that was best for her though. Probably not shippable anyway 🙁 "butt" it was a pretty epic basket. 🤣😊 Looks like I spoke too soon she did buy it but not shippable boo boo!
Holes or no holes, I'm glad you took that basket home. There's no way I'd sell it. There are so many places that basket could go. It's a work of art. If I didn't do anything but sit it in a corner I'd take it home. The laundry basket is wonderful. The blue and white is an oriental footbath but it isn't flow blue. $19.99 is a steal. I have that same footbath. It's not valuable but it's very pretty for those of us who love blue and white pottery. "Be Still" is from the Scriptures: "Be still and know that I am God..."
If Goodwill's mission truly is to help the community, I've often thought it would be better to have lower prices to (1) move things out to allow more sold inventory (cha-ching$$$), (2) reduce piles in landfills, and (3) consider the customer service rather than digging their heels in and demanding higher prices! Kind of like cutting off your nose to spite your face, Goodwill. But Karen - you're the best and I always enjoy looking forward to and watching your adventures in Goodwill regardless. Blessings!
Not only would I grab that basket, but I would keep it. Line the bottom with an old burlap sack, quilted piece or wool blanket, & the possibilities are endless! Plants, yarn, books, vintage toys,… On the porch at xmas with tiny lights, greenery, red winter berries & cones… On & On
Roger is quite the comidian! I got a good chuckle about making the popcorn in the bed warmer and LED toilet paper holder!😅. On the velvet coat you would have gotten your 15% off. Regarding the big basket you bought.... put it on your back patio and fill it with artificial greenery, that was you don't have to fuss with potting soil and watering. There are very pretty and real looking flowers and greenery at the craft stores.
Long pole bed warmers are a real (and common) thing. The upstairs maid, in the big house, had to be able to reach to the center of the bed, in the Master's Bedroom. 🙂
That basket would be beautiful in a bathroom with towels rolled in it. Those little holes are inconsequential and do not take away from its beauty. Hope you got it!
Ok, I have not finished the video but I a commenting on 2 things: the basket should have been a yes, the Chico’s jacket: the manager should have given you a discount, that is ridiculous! Buttons are expensive these days!
Hi Karen. Glad you saved the basket! It deserves better than a landfill. I'm not particularly 'into' baskets but that's a piece of art. Bedwarmers usually did have long handles. Frequently beds were pushed up against the wall due to small rooms. That necessitated long handled for the reach. And in some eras, beds were built high which also made the reach a challenge. Very practical. I know...nerd alert.🤓🤗
Great finds. Loved the owl wall hanging, Victoria stoneware and basket. That basket is true vintage and quality. My late uncle was blind and he was the best basket weaver artisan/artist. We still have trays, baskets, prams and other items he made. Fond memories indeed. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦.
I'm liking it too!!! Upbeat!! N showing the prices quickly ...is cool. I used to love our SAVE8R Store, it was making great money I think not sure why it was closed, it was Big n always had great' things❗❗❗The basket likely would sell quickly wouldnt it? SOMETIMES THE LABELS of dresses are inside on the skirt part.
I had to jump down to comments to see if u bought the basket! Just remember, if you super love it, the rarity of it and signed, the small imperfections usually don't matter. I found the first goodwill to be high!
That LED color changing toilet paper holder was a hoot. Just think, you can alternate the flickering lights on that and the bath tub, put on some music and have a dance party in the loo!
I'd buy the velvety Chico's jacket, bc to me replacing buttons is an easy fix. Love the hitched card display, Karen! It is so sweet. Re: the basket, I sold a large basket on FBMP and shipped it across country. It arrived just fine as well. Love the jardiniere too.
In Houston, Goodwill wants to charge 14.99 for a pair of heels where the inside is peeling. But then they don't recognize Italian shoes and price those much lower. 🤔
The thing about goodwill is they have become so greedy. The prices are insane for all the DONATED items they receive. I can tell you that jacket will sit in the store until they have to pitch it to the bins. why not take a few bucks for it and make room for something new.
Every goodwill that I have frequented, the manager has the authority to change the price at her/his discretion. Even workers have altered the price for consumers...
Hi Karen. The flow blue foot bath that you found could be a reproduction. About 25 years ago one of our local charity shops bought in a quantity of these to sell along with other flow blue items. They were made abroad somewhere and had a very similar stamp. They were brand new at the time. The clue to me was the pale blue background. Usually old ceramics have a white background with a few exceptions. There are now so many 'fakes' in antique ceramics.
I just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it. Those two stirrups as you called them are actually spurs and they are not cheap. Hopefully you got them and can resell them because $10 is a great deal for those!
Unfortunately, I don’t shop in Goodwill or donate to them any longer for years and years. I’m huge for Salvation Army Here in Florida Goodwill prices are like shopping at Nordstrom.
Hi Karen. Find a weaver to help on your basket. Wool yarn looks so beautiful weaved into holes and around edges. They have books on this. I lovev this basket. I love watching your vidios.
I’ve pointed out damage to an item at the other thrift store (Salvation Army) and they agreed and gave me 50% off which I really appreciated! I think you experienced really poor customer service from Goodwill’s manager. It will probably wind up at the outlet and hopefully not the landfill.
Omg that dress barn jacket that would of been hard and that beige green anthropologist shirt would look good on you!! I think if you did another channel on dressing to the nines (rich) with thrift clothes and find a whole outsider for less than $10 You don’t go threw every shirt/top maybe cause you have been doing it so long the high quality jumps out
That was a cute Precious Moments tray, I have a neighbor who is a Precious Moments hoarder, literally thousands of them in boxes, basement, attic, every closet, she has a house she doesn't live in,but her Precious Moments figurines have taken over.
What a haul Great finds. This video and your last video have convinced me that I will be taking a trip to PA to thrift. The shopping there is wonderful.
A couple years ago actually during Covid I was obsessed with the sheer look. I bought so many sheer tops, and I have a show or a Cami to go under every one of them that I bought. I have cream I have white I have black I have blue I have white. Do not hesitate when it comes to sheer people who wear that kind of stuff are already going to have something to wear under it. But that’s just me.
I recently found a victoriaware planter and did some research. It’s a Chinese import brand from about the 1990s. It’s a lovely piece though (yours and mine!)

The basket had such charming characteristics, holes only help tell it's story, I'd buy in a heartbeat! Amazing pieces!
That basket could hold anything from kindling to toilet paper, guest towels. The planter is incredible!!! I would buy it in a hot second! Good haul!
I would love to buy this basket! Would you consider shipping. I collect “buttocks” baskets.

Yay, I see that you did buy it by the comments good for you
Ok. I’m officially addicted to this channel.
Me too!!
I know...me too! It's my favorite!
Count ME in, too! ❤
Welcome to the club 😂❤
Yep, Love her organizational skills and unique finds, and big profit items....and new addition etc. Watch every Wednesday and Sunday.
Love Roger's popcorn bedwarmer 😂
I do believe that the manager of whatever goodwill should be able to discount things.
I think so too.
Definitely think managers should be able to offer discounts on items that requires fixing!!
Absolutely. So much goes into the landfill. They should just get rid of it 🙄.
There is a Goodwill I go to and the cashier just make up a price even if it's priced. Some of them think those items are overpriced.
The basket is everything!!!
Love the basket and the planter!! Big score! You’re awesome 🥰🤩😁
My husband and I think managers should lower prices if the piece is damaged!!! PS: you totally Rock!!!!
I would keep the basket for yourself. It would look cute in your new bathroom with towels or in your new bedroom with a pretty throw in it.
Some beautiful ferns in that basket on your back patio Karen would look amazing.
Not only would I grab that basket, but I would keep it.
Line the bottom with an old burlap sack, quilted piece or wool blanket, & the possibilities are endless! Plants, yarn, books, vintage toys,…

Great basket and since you love it put it in your closet for your scarves or flipflops😅
💕💕💕💕💕Those are spurs not stirrups. They go on your boots when riding.
The pink and black dress barn shirt was so cute
Went to the comments while still watching the video and saw you bought the basket! I was so glad as I was thinking HOW CAN YOU NOT GET THAT! ❤
Sell it as is ,that basket is a art piece.
I love how you preserved all the beautiful cards under the glass on the table! They carry beautiful energy ❤❤❤
Hi Karen, the Stirrups are actually Spurs. Stirrups are part of the saddle that you put your foot into.
Roger is quite the comidian! I got a good chuckle about making the popcorn in the bed warmer and LED toilet paper holder!😅. On the velvet coat you would have gotten your 15% off. Beautiful wedding project! ❤
The caftans remind me of Mrs. Roper from Three’s Company, I love them! ❤

I enjoy your commentary! And your voice is soothing 😊
I love the blue & white piece! I collect blue & white. If I lived much, much closer I’d claim it. Thanks for the very interesting video!
That basket would be beautiful in a bathroom with towels rolled in it. Those little holes are inconsequential and do not take away from its beauty. Hope you got it!
Shoulda bought the basket! Many basket lovers would love as is!
I am jealous of her Goodwill. Ours are lousy here where I live. I may need to venture out further.
I’m with Roger and his popcorn scheme! If R gets you the TP color changing holder, you should get him the shower beer holder.
😂😂😂😂 I don’t think Roger drinks that much! He seems to be slim and fit!
@@payattention31 I’m sure you’re correct, but a shower beer holder falls under ridiculous bathroom accessories.
Absolutely - they should always consider discounting - look at how they’ve grown over the last 10/20 years
Hi The Victoria Ironstone piece is also known as a Foot Bath. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing them. Mary.
Ok, I have not finished the video but I a commenting on 2 things: the basket should have been a yes, the Chico’s jacket: the manager should have given you a discount, that is ridiculous! Buttons are expensive these days!
Thank you so much for showing yourself going through items and explaining why you did or didn’t pick them up. So very helpful!!!
Hi Karen. Glad you saved the basket! It deserves better than a landfill. I'm not particularly 'into' baskets but that's a piece of art.

Loved your haul!!! I thought your basket was a Matt Tommey basket for sure. Check out his creations! They are something else!!! 🥰
Yes. The manager should be able to/willing to negotiate prices for damages such as the button situation.

Liberty of London fine fine woven, Beautifully printed Cotton Fabric. ❤❤❤❤

I'm addicted too it motivates me informs and inspires me to keep thrifting yes its genuine and they r valued good job
GW's pricing has no rhyme or reason! So many things priced crazy and they would rather throw it away than price it to sell.
HI, If you can't find a tag on a piece of clothes, I would check on the side seam towards the bottom. Just a thought! Love your channel.
The stirrups you found are actually spurs used for western style riding, I believe.
Those stirrups are gorgeous
Happy you got the basket!, so many possibilities ❤
Hope you keep the beautiful blue Victoria ironstone! Stunning!
Hi Karen, I think your lovely flow blue is a Victorian ironstone foot bath.
Basket is extraordinary; forget the damage; it is on the bottom & plants would be great inside. I loved that cat with the movable legs.
You and Roger sure have a good eye for what sells.
In Houston, Goodwill wants to charge 14.99 for a pair of heels where the inside is peeling. But then they don't recognize Italian shoes and price those much lower. 🤔
Spurs. Stirrups are on a saddle. Ye Haw! You had a good day!
Hand towel goes in the macrame owl. My mother had one
The manager definitely could have marked down that jacket
Basket for the bathroom with towels or ferns in it.
You make this like an education tutorial but in a pleasant tone so it isnt dry - thank you
Love Liberty of London. Visited it once and bough some material!
I find the tag along the seam close to the bottom sometimes 😊
We have a color-changing motion activated light in our toilet.. I love that thing in the middle of the night.
The thing about goodwill is they have become so greedy. The prices are insane for all the DONATED items they receive. I can tell you that jacket will sit in the store until they have to pitch it to the bins. why not take a few bucks for it and make room for something new.

I pull vintage wool / mohair Ireland / Scotland made sweaters from the bins and they sell year round.
That is a great basket!
Love the cards under glass. Very cool.
that is a great Hawiian shirt the disappearing pocket,, faked shirts just sew any part of fabric on front,, the best match the fabric perfectly
That would be a great toilet paper night light! Good find Roger!
I really appreciated the part on clothing. I love watching you pick out what you will sell and explaining it. Please do more of those 😊
I love the videos with Roger! You two are a great team!

Not our Goodwill. Are goodwill’s Tuesday is senior day and it’s only 10%.
That basket would look amazing with a beautiful cream fluffy throw coming out of it. I don’t care about the holes. ❤
I just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it. Those two stirrups as you called them are actually spurs and they are not cheap. Hopefully you got them and can resell them because $10 is a great deal for those!

Hi Karen. Find a weaver to help on your basket. Wool yarn looks so beautiful weaved into holes and around edges. They have books on this. I lovev this basket. I love watching your vidios.

that tall cat is amazing!
Because that Chico's jacket was beautiful.

Keep an eye out for Eberjay pajamas. They are my faves and sometimes they show up at Goodwill. About 150.00 new.
Basket may be from Vietnam. VC for Viet Cong etc. Beautiful piece of art basket!!!!
Hi Karen, Roger is a nut! Color-changing toilet paper holder? Gotta love it!
Btw, could the Flow Blue piece be a cache pot?

Next time you have a GOOD basket, that needs repairs, it’s usually easy-if not you can also weave some fabric strips through the holes
Going out to dinner ending up in a thrift store ❤ Love it!
