So is mine...and my Nook...and the ones I have on my tablet! LOL! I wish I could be as organized as this. While this is a good idea,I think something can be said for us "disorganized" Kindle people too. Sometimes I forget I have a certain book and just go scrolling quickly down my list not searching for anything in particular and stumble across something. It's like finding a nice surprise every day! LOL!
I love seeing how other people organize their kindles. TFS! (I’m much older than you and always called my dad “daddy”. I lost him back in 2017. He was such a wonderful father and I miss him every day.)
Me too! Omg thank you! I feel like I always hear people make fun of others who still call their father’s daddy as adults, but for me it’s more endearing to call him that. We are very close. I’m so sorry to hear that, I felt your comment so much. My dad has issues with his heart and it’s too much to think about what it will be like not having him around 😞
I had no idea kindle had this feature. This is going to save so much time when I’m in the mood for a certain genre/trope such as sports romance or medieval. Thanks for the lesson.
This was enlightening because I didn’t know Kindle had that function. I could have used that back when I first discovered ebooks and went crazy downloading free ones. Now the majority of my books come from KU so no need to organize 🙂
That was great! I started making collections of page numbers. So 0-100 pages, 101-200 pages and so on. That way if I feel like a shorter book, I can find it easily 😄 I just might add genre collections too!
Mine was a royal mess. Finally got to my liking. I will tweak along the way. Thanks this helped. Now I think I’m more motivated with my paperwhite than I was before. I need to force myself to go back and actually read. I got lazy driving to work and letting my fire read to my to make drive bearable prior to the day from hell I was about to have. What would I have done without my fire? Now retired I will discipline to read once more. I have tons of unread books. -,
I love categorizing my Kindle. I put them in collections by genre also. And each year I put my tbr together and put them in that collection. And after I read them I put them in genres but under the genre and that I read it. I always wanted a Kindle ever since they came out. But then the Fire came out and I got that but I still wanted something just for reading. So I bought the Kindle 5 I think it is. It wasn’t touch screen or had a backlight and didn’t have a keyboard. Just a little square that was the buttons. Had that for a while and then bought the Kindle Paperwhite 3 which I’ve had since 2016. One of the greatest tech inventions ever.
This actually helped me to decided how to do my books I think I will make a folder for each series i read though which is not often cause books are high
I've never really thought about using the Kindle app to organize my Kindle!! I use the paperwhite and it's amazing for reading but horrible for organizing!! Thanks for the tips, Bree!

(1:30) I didn't know Kindle Unlimited books have to be returned! I don't have any e-book subscriptions, but if I did, I'd likely start with Storytel since that's available in some regions, including where I live. Calibre stuff is synced through Calibre Companion, which within its app allows me to browse my Calibre Tag Browser (the pane on the left) items. I really need to find the time to redo my Calibre and Kindle collections. (3:05) I wonder if you use something like NetGalley (which lends out ARCs), assuming that's available in your region, though that isn't compatible with Kindle, but should be compatible with iPadOS, Android, e-readers that can run Android apps, as well as e-readers that support Adobe Digital Editions. I already have DNF shelves on Goodreads and StoryGraph, and I think I should create a "TBR ASAP" shelf too since Goodreads keeps screwing up the order of my "Want to Read" (regular TBR) list there. Edit: I forgot to mention that while I live in Singapore, I have Kindle set up with the address of my second home in Australia, since some publishers like Cartoon Books and Oni Press don't offer their digital editions on Kobo nor Play Books, but do offer them on Kindle and Comixology.

I organize mines by genre and some from my favorite authors. I didn't even know you could so this lol I'll have to try this
I was so excited when I realized it!
I didn't know I needed this video, but it's really helpful! I know how I'm going to spend my afternoon since I have too many books to organize on my kindle app. 🤭
How do you add a new collection? Did I miss that?
When you hit “add to collection” you can add a new collection.
I saw Goodbye Paradise in the ‘The ASAP’ category! You have to read it!
Yes I do!
Thank you. I do not see what you see. I cannot see a list of what is NOT IN A COLLECTION. This is for the purpose of putting into a collection. I only appear to have a choice between all, and a chosen collection. Maybe you can help me there?
Ohmygosh YES I add arcs a million times because I'm afraid I didn't add it 😂 thus was so helpful Bree, thank you!!
I love this!! Definitely plan on doing this soon
It’s worth it!
it was an helpful video
Does anyone happen to know what generation kindle this is?
The Kindle I show at the beginning of the video is the Kindle Paperwhite. The device I'm using to show the Kindle app is an iPad pro (everything is linked in the description box)
@@InLoveAndWords I understood that, But I was asking more so which generation kindle?
Thank you for this! I have sooo many kindle books and tried to organize once 😂
Hahaha! Once I got through the initial chunk, it’s been easy to maintain!
Oh my god it took me forever to organize my kindle. I did it by duets/series.......and now Amazon does it for us. TTTHHHANNNKKSSS LOL
Also, how do you have so many kindle unlimited books? I thought you could only have 10 at a time?
when you return from one device and don't connect the other device to the net it doesn't delete
Yea my books are just there so I’ve never organized my books...I’m just curious...not sure if i ever would organize it
This is cool! I didn’t know this was a thing lol thanks for sharing!
I was so excited when I found out!
My organizing self LOVES this and is the motivation for me to did a quick 'clean up' of my Kindle while I listen to an audiobook. I can't believe I forgot it had this feature. Thank you so much!
Yes! And you may discover some awesome books you forgot about!
OMG tysm I litterlay have spongebob comics ( I still am a four year old at heart) and Stephen king books with look really weird together

@@InLoveAndWords don’t make me go down that dark road too 😭😭😭
I really need to organize my ebooks just like this! It's a super great idea but I think I would have problems sorting them into categories tbh.
P.S... Nine Inch Difference is free now on Amazon for a short time.
I need you to organize mine asap. Ur hubby def need his own account. Double the KU loans!!!
Charles, you can totes do this while listening to an audiobook!
What’s your favorite YA Contemporary book?
My favorite that I've read recently is A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard.
How do you name your collections?
When you go to create a new collection, you should be prompted to name it.
Love this!!!💛💛💛
