I'll let my CEO, Seleene, introduce the storyline of the vid:
The phrase "lacrimosa" comes from the word lacrimoso, meaning tearful, a term also used to apply to a movement that which is mournful. So it is that the MC now looks back upon the path which led us to end our prior relationship with Band of Brothers and our re-birth among like-minded individuals.
Our freedom has been won, but at great cost. Watch now as we remember our past, acknowledge our present and look forward to our future.
We are Tortuga - united by purpose, driven by ambition, bonded by blood.
eve onlines best moments was this era D-) how i miss it greatly, and even greater the people
EVE is one of those rare games where the learning curve is so steep that it scares most people away... but the rewards for getting up the harsh slope to the first few crests of major achievment are so great (fun, adventure, nervous sweat on the mouse) that, once you taste them, you'll just happily throw yourself towards the next impossibly-steep challenges. If you stick with it, EVE is massively rewarding.
I know this is an old comment. But for me eve was easy to learn. Only because I played another game... x3. Now x3 is 100x more complicated than eve, and not in a good way xD. Want to check your inventory? That's like 5 or 6 clicks away depending if you want to see the inventory in a certain station or ship, or your ship. And that's just checking inventory, eve was a step down from learning curve and it was nice, compared to x3 eve was a walk in the park with QoL features, though nowadays x4 is out and its simpler to get into.
Words can't describe how freaking AWESOME that vid was.

I'm KIA and proud to have been part of the Tortuga experiment, there is no one single reason why it didn't work but a number of them. But i'm proud of fighting for the ideal which was free space holding mercenaries.

The north was a blast, at the time I was in Coreli Corporation - it really was good fun flying with the MC and it's mostly why I wanted to be a part of BDCI. Most of the footage of my The Exiled vid was from that campaign.

The music is a mix of 3 pieces called "The Tempest / Life and Death / Lacrimosa" all done by Immediate Music (aka Globus).
geee Dire ... I'm off EVE last couple of days and this movie just brought back memories about whole Tortuga thing - I'm so proud I'm part of that - Thnx Eddz and Seleene that gave us opportunity to be in this epic EVE story and Thank you for this amazing video :)
In EVE it is explained like this: The Pod you are in simulates the sounds, you don't actually "hear" explosions and stuff, the Pod only makes you think you do :p

very very well made. You have a nice dynamic between music and fotoage.
I used Logic Studio to arrange the soundtrack and SFX, but only because it's what I'm used to for making music. But yeah you can do that sort of thing inside Premiere with its own plugins or in something like Soundforge externally.

Ironically, if Mercenary Coalition hadn't stabbed BoB in the back, Band of Brothers might have ended up losing MORE territory than they eventually did, because MC's betrayal was the spark that rekindled their old fighting ability. Now they own Period Basis again, and they're pushing outwards once more.

Yeah, not quite, mate. Sound is created by the propagation of pressure waves through a solid, liquid, or gaseous medium - So you're right in that molecules are involved, but wrong in that they inherently create the sound.
Deep space is a vacuum, and therefore you have no medium to transmit said waves of pressure - Hence, no sound.

Yep, finally a game, that doesnt copy WOW, the easier - the better style. The harder to play eve is, the more mature people are in it. People usually get tired of whining kids in general chat of fantasy mmos.
Basically MC has always wanted to be a Free Merc Force. But since they had to do contracts for bob they couldnt be a true merc force. The last contract was the deployment to FAT & where meant to plan a invasion of the Collective Outpost in YHN. However instead they desided to backstab bob & got outted when they contacted FIX Alliance. A number of merc corps moved to Period Basis & began attacking bob. All system dropped apart from TPAR where the
Tortuga couldnt beat bob.
Tortuga use to be part of what was call "Mercenary Coalition," a elite gun for hire alliance. They were once on the payroll of the BoB (Band of Brother) alliance or some kind of partnership.
The video is kinda like a last effort of leaving a legend or memory in Eve history when they disband. No clue, if i got it right, i don't paid much attention to other alliance affair.
In fact Tortuga was not part of MC. Tortuga was a combination of MC and Other mercenary groups AND a splinter faction of IAC back then. MC had been hired on that period to take FAT and surrounding systems from IAC to open a south path to Red Alliance territories. Both sides got pissed they they were being used (Both MC by the alliance and IAC by the coalition) , so a thrid of IAC split and joined Daisho syndicate to jump with MC and 2 other mercenary groups in a neutral state in the south.
Never met a more unic and fantastic game onlie. And more realistic, you can get backstabbed easily

This is what I am thinking. He's confused the Imperial with the Navy, seriously this is why everyone is calling BS. There are as many as 3 Imperial Apocs and as few as one in the entirety of the game, with none being built, sold or handed out for loyalty points the cost for one of these would be around the cost for an actual car. Congrats on your navy issue ship, they are nice.
i gotta agree with you there, sniggwaffe is over there at the moment and gem has got hardly any targets for our roaming gangs to eatplus all the rat drop missle equipment so im finding it hard to fit my sexy blaster boats

well considering they can turn the tide of most fights in seconds and they carry a weapon that can pop literally hundreds of ships at once I'd say go for it. also you can dock people in it making it even more dangerious and you can play the dirtiest trick in all of eve by fitting a cloaking devise on it. But Its all up too you.
It's ok, not great by today's standards I guess.

@vycmnl The song isn't Preliator, its Lacrimosa. They are practically the same song they sound so alike, and theres a third one, Lacrimosa Dominae.

MC left BoB's employ, founded a new Alliance of Alliances called Tortuga. They were MC, KIA, Outbreak, Daisho and EvOke. They took residence in Pure Blind. After this video was made time wnet by shit hit the fan and the Tortugan Experiement was dead, and the MC alliance broke up. Daisho and MC no longer exist. The others do iirc.
@DanyF02 By far the best game. It took me a long time to get into eve. But it can be incredibly addicting (I personally know a guy who has 12 accounts). PVP is REALLY addicting. It has by far the best pvp in any game, imo.

One of the last things I did in EVE was help crush MC for their betrayal in the dark days when Goonswarm was pressing in on BoB's home territories. Opportunism can be a virtue, but make sure the people you are stabbing in the back are properly defeated first. After I quit, I understand a BoB director also betrayed us and disbanded the alliance. I suppose that is the price you pay for roleplaying as the evil empire. But damn, it was fun while it lasted.

Soon after Evoke, Outbreak left Tortuga because they didnt like the region. Leaving MC / KIA & DS to defend Period Basis. Bob Invaded & Tortuga couldnt mount a defence so they all abandoned Period Basis. Leaving MC / KIA & DS to defend Period Basis. It seems to me that its not really one single person who owns the ship. Its more like getting a pilot trained for it and then the corp/alliance buys it for the pilot to fly for the corp.

Could someone please explain what the chain of events which lead up to this was? I know there was a retreat from Goonfleet, but that's about it. Anyone know the full range of events?
well sound travels by molecules, and those explosions, just the splosions launch molecules into space when they explode so they should, and would have sound. But everything else would have no sound :|

The impoc, yes it costs more then a titan(which is about 100bil, not the 160 you stated). A navy apoc, no it does not cost more then a titan, can't enter the game right now but i'm sure it is less then 400mill (cuz i know the navy raven is about 280mil)
