- Part 2 on our build of the 1/35 scale AFV Club M54a2 Guntruck Eve of Destruction. With most of the building and main paint done, it's on to decals and weathering and placement of the small details.

That's a BADASS TRUCK! Nice job. I love the attention to detail a trained eye brings to a model. Awesome!!!!
Thanks, it's was a great kit to build.
Fantastic job! Amazing details and the crew looks so real.
Thanks, it was a fun build
My favourite guntrucks😁 Well done, sir!
Thanks, it was a great kit from AFV Club.
@greenirontv324 I'm sure it was. I've got the "king Cobra" AFV kit and a set of decals for "The Lifer," so looking forward to that😀
@@Vincent-gc8zd Nice, just take your time when assembling the frame as it sets everything. Get it off a little and the truck may not sit straight.
@greenirontv324 Thanks for your advice🙂👍

Looking good! I want to get the AFV m54 cargo and do it as older m54 gasser thats what I have now, not mount air filter on fender, a guy I worked with drove convoys in vietnam he said they would shine up the trucks with diesel fuel for days and the day they went out they came back caked with dust, then they cleaned them back up and did it again.
Yes, it should be fairly easy to back date the standard kit. I built one a couple years ago when they first came out. I have heard of GI's wiping them down with diesel fuel to give it a shine, and I'm sure it would just attract every bit of dust.
When I was stationed at Ft.Eustis the Eve Of Distruction was in the museum at that time , it had been rebuilt after an accident it had while being used on a movie set ,
Awesome. I wonder which movie it was used in?
I am sorry to say I cannot remember , I was stationed there for aviation training (67Y20) and had to be a guide as part of the normal training cycle . At the time the truck was still outside and showed some of the damage , there was a placard describing the trucks time in Vietname, its return home , but again just a few to many winters have come and gone @@greenirontv324
Danged if I can remember , lot of winters have passed since I was sent there to learn how to keep the old Cobra gunship flying. When I was there the old truck was outside , the museum was much smaller then it is today ,@@greenirontv324
Wow you did a really good job on this gun truck. Well done! I gotta question though. I notice some of the gun trucks in Vietnam were painted black instead of your standard olive drab color. Why is that, do you know?
From what I understand, it was done out of intimidation. They wanted the black trucks to stand out and let the VC know not to mess with them.
