Yes... broken STL files are much too common... I'm the author of the numpy-stl library (which is used by Cura for example) and at least 30% of the bug reports I get are due to broken STL files. Thank you for the great video, I usually just recreate STL files but I'll give this a try in the future.
Thank you. And yes people start by blaming the software (or any other tool) prior to troubleshooting any input they have made to the software/system. And I have noticed lately how much people think software can do/fix for them with minimum input, we'll have to wait for direct brain-interface and AI to fix things ;)
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! Very very helpful, you solved my problem and immediately gave me a solution to a problem I didn't know I had!
Thank you sooo much. 99% of the conversion videos just show you how to process non corrupts stl files, but they don't show you what to make if this fails. Helped a lot!!
I've been following you for a couple of months, I think, and I have to say I like very much the style: how you explain the workflows with a bit of humor also. I run a YT channel in Spanish about F360, and I also have courses for makers. I am telling you this because I have just recommended your channel to my students and if you see a sudden increase it can be due to this. Well, it won't happen on Saturday morning but maybe later... Keep doing these nice videos!! 👍
I’m still having issues the model turns to a “solid” but it stays a mesh file because it’s not actually converting but there are no yellow missing faces or anything visually wrong with the newly converted “solid object” it looks like it but still is a mesh
I dl the version for non commercial i cant do anything with it i heard there were a lot of changes from since I last Used fusion in January just wow. the menus dont even look the same as yours and a lot of grey shaded prompts i cant click on.
The faceted conversion is only usable for simple things or asa reference for a remodel. If the menus look different check that Fusion is updated, you might need to download the installer again (there was ben a bug that didn't update Fusion on some Windows machines)
After you have a solid body in Fusion, top left click on "DESIGN" and select "DRAWING" -> From Design. The drawing workspace is similar to the design/sketch but look in the learnig center for more info on it.
@@KristianLaholm No, that's not what the question is about. I ask how to make that soft viewing. Fusion herself seems to rotate the image as it seems necessary. Seems to be adapting and slightly changing the zoom image
@@mindaugasm2032 It can be that I'm using a spacemouse for some of the movement of the model. I'm no pro with the spacemouse and that can make the movement look at bit odd sometimes :)
@@mindaugasm2032 There are some preferences changing the behavior of pan/zoom etc. But the "smooth" movements I make in the video are mostly done using the spacemouse.

Thank you :)
And you have some nice videos, YT translate makes a descent work creating English CC for your videos :)
@@KristianLaholm thanks! I also did some Mesh updates playing with parametric and, best of all, the new flow tessellate and combine in Mesh 😁
And this is why I love UA-cam! Great explanation and solution!!
Thank you
I have an obj file with many components in it, can I still convert each component to each solid in a single file?
Thank you!! I have the paid version, but have/had problems with convert. Now I give it another try with your help.
Some STL files are not suitable for conversion and a lot of them have errors :(
@@KristianLaholm I see it...i guess the most with lots of geometry are simply to big now. hope they go on developing this...
All prismatic style (Box, Cylinder, Sphere etc.) models it does a good work with, we'll have to see how they develop curved surface recognition.

Did you do any repares of the mesh before converting? I rarely find any "good" mesh files online.

Excelente!😃
How can we develop technical drawings from these models?

How to turn on this soft viewer? If you understand what I am talking about.
Are thinking of how the parts look at the end of the video that is from the prismatic conversion (not part of the personal free version of Fusion 360)
