In this video, I edit Canon EOS R5 10-bit 4K HEVC 4:2:2 footage and Sony A7sIII 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 video at 4K 24fps, 4K 30fps, 4K 60fps, and 4K 120FPS using Final Cut Pro X 10.4.9 and premiere Pro 2020 and Davinci Resolve 16 studio using the 2020 5K iMac with the 10-Core i9 5.0Ghz CPU and AMD 5700XT 16GB.
I didn't test Canon 8K cinema RAW from the EOS R5 because we are waiting for Canon RAW Plugin 2.0 for Final Cut Pro X as its prerelease right now but I will test as soon as I can!

What about the new navi GPU for the Mac Pro? What happens if you opt for 2 of them? What difference does the Xeon CUP vs the 10th gen i9 make in combination with these new Navi GPU’s? What optimisation in the software is still to come (if any) to take better/full advantage of the new Navi GPU’s? What is the next Navi GPU to be released that may be compatible with the Mac Pro?
All you are seing are software optimizations.
YOUR iMAC DOES NOT HAVE A 4:2:2 DECODER
10th gen Comet Lake desktop chips don't have the new decoder. They are basically rehashed Skylake. Only mobile Ice Lake chips have the decoder. So don't get your hopes up. For native decoding on desktop you will need 11th/12th gen Intel processors or a new GPU generation aka. RTX 3000
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
So you have the graphics glitch too at 0:56 bottom left. I don't know if I feel better or worse.
I saw it as well. Interesting.
@@chriscarty2514 my iMac (5700xt) did it as well, but only a couple times right after installing / initialising mac os. it hasn't done it since and it's been a few days now. maybe give it some time see if it persists before returning?
B de Graaff I haven’t actually purchased the machine yet and was just about to until I heard about this issue. I wonder if it’s software related and hope it is because if it’s hardware related that’s not good. Please keep me updated on this.
Good find Tally Ho, woof.
@@chriscarty2514 Did yours have the same issue?
The video shows the bug in the iMac. It has been pointed out that at @0:56 of this video, at the bottom left corner, there is an example of the glitch that is plaguing the 2020 iMac that has the 5700 XT. See this macrumors thread, particularly the post #424 by LadyNinja who detects the flaw happening in Max's video. If you look very carefully at @0:56 in this video, the flash appears in the black margin, about an inch above the bottom of that black region.
forums.macrumors.com/threads/imac-2020-5700xt-graphical-glitch.2251034/post-28839291
Max, since you have this in your video footage, you might like to examine the frames, and freeze frame the glitch that flashes briefly at @0:56
omg i just returned mine because of this
I noticed this a few time while using it. It seems like a software issue? I didn't notice this with our other one that has the 5500XT.
@@MaksimYuryev are you planning to return your Mac? or are you going to wait for a software patch? I have the same iMac i9 10-core, 5700XT and have the same issue.
Andrés Godoy it doesn’t bother me since I know it’s most likely just new graphics that will get fixed with software.
@@MaksimYuryev Thanks Max!
So what about the 5700XT white line glitch presenting itself in full glory in left corner at 00:56
0:56. Bottom left, theres the known glitch..
Out in the wild!
Your i9 2020 iMac is suffering from the dreaded 5700XT graphical glitch issue plaguing all such configurations. You can see it in your own video in the 0:55-0:57 time segment in the lower left side of your screen. It is a white line that flashes. DO NOT BUY 2020 IMAC until Apple releases a fix. Macrumors and other forums, as well as many online news sites like 9to5Mac and AppleInsider, have written about this widespread issue.
I think you and your brother need to slow down and actually REVIEW these machines. The graphical glitches are a big deal that you never once mentioned in your reviews.
I’ve been waiting for a review of the Mac Pro with W5700X which has been out since April. The Vega II is nice, but it’s an old architecture which has its limitations compared to Navi. Thanks and keep up the good work.
To be honest, Apple kinda screwed me on this. They kept saying they will send me two W5700X's and another Vega II so I can do some side by side testing and kept saying it will be sent out soon so I didn't order my own. Months of back and forth and nothing was sent...
I had two different W5700X systems and returned them both. Both systems experienced hangs and reboots daily, and the symptoms appeared GPU related. Yes, W5700X a newer Navi arch, but it does not have the bake time that Vega has. There's a thread on it here: forums.macrumors.com/threads/adobe-cc-mac-pro-7-1-w7500x.2239857/page-10. Since switching to Vega II my Mac Pro system has been rock stable.
I also have an R5. One of the standout features of the R5 is its ability to shoot internal RAW (you don't get this with the A7Siii or S1H) so I take full advantage of this instead of recording to HEVC. Color balance and set the gain as needed, and then transcode to ProRes 422. HEVC is not an editing codec.
Roland Ayala hi, after your comment, I read that most of these issues were in the MacOS 10.15.4. It seems that it is much more stable now but would be interested in knowing what you have to say or if you have any different thoughts. Thanks
@@dson32 Both my W5700X systems were running MacOS 10.15.5. I don't have any first hand experience with W5700X GPU on 10.15.6, but I've been following the thread (link shared above) and it doesn't seem to have helped.
For me, switching from W5700X to Pro Vega II transformed Mac Pro from worthless pile of junk to something becoming its price (my opinion based on my experience). I realize that sounds like hyperbole but I cannot do real work on a machine that randomly sputters, hangs, and panics almost daily.
These are the types of realities that don't come across in the spec and benchmark oriented reviews. There's a reason pros stick with proven hardware. Vega II is workstation class GPU with all the kinks worked out. NAVI is newer consumer GPU with less bake time. That said, the reason the new iMac is handling the R5 HEVC format well probably has more to do with Comet Lake processor than GPU, since it supports HEVC 422 encode/decode. I think the point @Max is missing though is that anybody buying a Mac Pro isn't doing to edit HEVC (will instead work with RAW or ProRes, which optimized for editing) -- so it's kinda pointless to compare an iMac to a Mac Pro based on how fast it edits HEVC video footage.
Cmon max, now I wanna upgrade my hackintosh lol
Haha :)
Don't Comet Lake chips don't actually have a 4:2:2 decoder. You will have to wait for the 11th gen on desktop
@@MegaWeitzel Haha I thought they have it so only the 5700 video card is what make it possible?? My hack only has the Vega 56...
@@rockjano As you can clearly see in the video there is no real decoder at work. Otherwise, everything would be smooth. My guess is that there were just some major software improvements compared to previous tests
@@MegaWeitzel OK possible. So only the Apple Silicon in the iPadPro is capable to decode this 4K 4:2:2 All in footage smoothly because that is capable doing that..and here only the stronger video card and the stronger processor helps somewhat... and some software optimisation...
10:30 OMG THANK YOU ! I bought an 8 core 10 days ago and because I saw that the i9 hasn't got a great TDP and high freqency falls down dragsticly ! Looking forward to seeing your full review !
You look like jorge masvidal...
Dang Max...can’t you wait for the REST of us to get the A7Siii? 🤣
I'm waiting for my three as well. Sony didn't let me have that one for very long 😭
Been waiting my whole life for this video just need to know if I’m going to go all the way or just stick to my i7 5700xt (32gb ram upgraded myself) and 1TB but if I go i9 I’m going to go to 512gb 😉
Go with i7 5700XT bhpho.to/2QCXv7w
Max Yuryev thanks max! I need to get that ram from you too 😍
You must've had a really short life up until now
Casper S yeah I’m pretty young
Very good findings regarding the All-I vs the IPB compression. I wonder if the problem is the data rate of some of the files.
Thanks! I wouldn't think it would be data rate because it hasn't mattered with hardware decoders as long as you have fast drives but maybe it does it its CPU decoded.
Video on the new Sony Full frame cameras? Would be nice :)
Also - Don't forget the Mac Pro is upgradable down the line, so you can pump any all sorts of accelerator cards as you go. That's the big advantage of the Mac Pro after all
The best would still be to wait for the Apple silicon iMacs. And they might update that small 27" inch to at least 32"...
You can test out the R5 RAW in DaVinci Resolve.
Hey Max, can you touch on streaming performance as well? Not familiar with the necessary specs for a quality stream but interested to know if the iMac can do streaming whilst simultaneously gaming, or live switching cameras/inputs etc.
Could you also touch on any thermal throttling issues since the cooling system is the same as previous models?
Much thanks!
Why not just upgrade the GPU on your Mac Pro to the 5700?
It even 2 of them?
Can the i7 edit this too?!
I’m wanting to order my 2020 iMac but I gotta to know what’s your opinion on i7 8 core or i9 10 core is it really worth the $400?!?!?
ua-cam.com/video/HWbQqW8QPXw/v-deo.html
why my iMac doesn't show the preview thumbnail for the video files with the preview option enabled. Does anybody have this problem?
So, if Apple has only included that de-coder chip (?) in only one MacPro (that doesn't support any software), would your advice be to wait until next IMac model to purchase and just tough it out and transcode all your 4:2 2 / 4:2:0 footage until then?
Great Comparison Bro's ✔️👍
Regards from Europe from my Channel Bro's 😄👍
Can you try the Sony 4K footage with the IPad Pro
My Every Morning Start with Your Video (IST +5:30), Young Tech enthusiast. But due to lack of money, I can't buy anything more than Mac Mini (which costs ₹1.04Lakh ~ $1349). I posted this 3 times under your iMac 2020 videos already.
The 10th Gen CPUs used in this are NOT the ones that can decode 4:2:2 hardware accelerated.
What you see is awesome performance from the 5700 XT but not at all hardware decoded HEVC 10-bit 4:2:2.
You give a pretty bad explanation here and let people think that this works but it doesn't and it can't.
This CPU has the same iGPU as the generation before. Just Ice Lake 10th gen has the new iGPU that can decode 4:2:2 10-Bit.
Nvidia Nvenc - the same. No 4-2-2 with HEVC 10-bit
www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/hevc-10-bit-4-2-2-via-gtx2060--123007/
With H.264 4:2:2 decode is possibly never going to happen but H.265 4:2:2, the ipad pro can apparently hardware decode as well as those new mobile intel gpu's.
@@Don_Trump I did mention this in the video..
I'm happy to see something finally covering Premiere Pro! I already ordered my 10-core iMac, but I'm still curious about the Premiere Pro comparisons, especially 8-core vs. 10-core.
Thank, Max. Now, I can upgrade my 2014 Lenovo Y50. Editing R5 8K and 4K footage has been an interesting workflow on that machine. Haha.
Hi Max, thanks again for great and informative videos! 🙏🙏🙏. Small question: what app do you use for CPU/GPU usage in the menu bar?
Yea I have been wondering that too. I can’t find it definitively via search online. 👍🏻
It’s iStat Menus from bjango.com. Have used it for many years. There are many menu bar system monitors, but iStat is one of the few that will show you GPU usage over time.
@@brightboxstudio thanks for that! I’ll give it a try 😊
With the SSD soldered on board the cost to replace it will be huge if/when it dies or you need a larger one... Not ideal...
I plan on using an Atomos Ninja V, A7siii, and then edit in ProRes RAW on a Mac Pro with Afterburner... now with more controls for RAW in FCPx... using SLOG3 s gamut 3 cine and one of those Venice LUTs that Bloom talked about.... I would LOVE to see the difference for MAXED mbp 4K60 raw from the Sony A7siii ... between the MAc Pro and iMac 2020.... maybe don't sell that Mac Pro yet and do some more comparisons! With the Afterburner in the Mac Pro surely everything becomes smooth? It better else Apple have an Afterburner / Mac Pro fail on their hands//// With Maxed Yuryev Testing! go for it!
So it’d mean something if we got the same clips on the other machines with 10.4.9 mostly because the wider bandwidth of the Mac Pro and the iMac Pro will likely make a difference with the new optimizations
Playing a video is a lot different than scrubbing in realtime on a 30m + project, in the end you will have to use proxies. Funny how these guys show a video of a software playing a video and then when they clicks another part of the video you see the lag, and they still recommend it!!!! WTF?!... That system and codec not suitable for professional editing. PERIOD. You would need a threadripper with multiple NVMes in RAID to pull it off. Oh and Apple sucks :p
Great video. Thanks for the time you put into this.
Just wondering, do you think my 27inch 2019 base model imac with an RX 570X would benefit from an 5700xt 8gb in a razer core x doing 4k video editing?
If anyone is reading this would please help?
Thank you.
Max, For what it's worth. I have the 16 inch 2020 MacBook Pro with the 8Gb 5600M and 8 Core i9 2.3. I have the latest Resolve and FCPX installed. In Resolve with my own 10bit 4.2.2. H.265 Clog from my R5, I get immediate smooth playback in Resolve. Scrubs well also. It runs similar to what I saw in your video. FCPX though is quite choppy. On my 2019 MacPro, 16 Core, Resolve is super smooth with this footage, while FCPX is smooth, but not as zippy as Resolve when scrubbing the timeline. 8K Raw is super smooth in Resolve on both the laptop and the MacPro. Of course FCPX and Canon bricked RAW on the latest FCPX, so I can't try that for now.
I have the same config as yours with 64gb of ram. With the free version of resolve 8k red raw only has decent playback when you select "all video frames". I tested clips from the red site. Do I need studio to get your results? Without "all video frames" selection 8k raw has choppy playback even at 1/4 res. Activity monitor always shows a lot of cpu use but very little gpu. Thanks in advance.
mmaged2287 hi. I have the Studio version. I do know that the free version does not enable the Gpu for decoding and that is a big hit in performance in 4K and 8k video. I am sure it makes a big difference
Thanks for the info. I bought this to future proof as much as possible,, so I wanted to test out 8k raw on this thing. I may have to upgrade to studio. So you are getting smooth playback in full res on 8k in resolve or is it a 4k timeline?
@@mmaged2287 I put it into a 4k timeline on the MacBook. I have a 2019 MacPro 16 core as well, with a 5k monitor. On that machine I can put it into an 8k timeline, and its smooth after its optimized. Never tried an 8k timeline on my Macbook pro though.
Hi max. I have a silly question. How do you bring the cpu and gpu usage percentage on the top bar there?
istat menu
Looks like the ARM is gonna blow this video performance away
Hi max . I have windows pc which has 2080 i9 9900k with premiere pro software. I was trying to edit sony s3 422 10bit 120p . I'm struggling alot what should i upgrade on my pc. Thanks in advance
Hey guys great video! I finally got my MaxTech mask in today as well! Thanks!

Will you test the RTX 3090 in a PC for Resolve and Premiere? It might have a new NVDEC decoder. Rumored to be extremely powerful as well.
Yes
Max Yuryev Turns out the cards are amazing. Apple Silicon better bring their best!
Love the review just need your advice . I Need a Mac is the iMac 2020 i9 with the top end graphics card the best one for rendering with v-ray for Sketchup with the ram maxed out too . Best jo
Max can I ask what tool / plug in you use to see the CPU / GPU usage? ps I bought the exact same machine based on your recommendation. Upgraded to 72Gb of RAM 🤣🤣🤣
Hahah :) I use iStat Menu. BTW you should download Geekbench 5 and test with 72GB of RAM and then with just 64GB. It might perform better with just 64 and that extra ram isn't really needed.

As OBS on Mac runs from the CPU, part of me wishes I got the 10 core. As I stream from a small room, it’s all about keeping the fan speed low so I don’t have to use noise cancellation. The 8 core could more than smash anything I throw at it, but not without it spinning up so I’m just trying to find the right balance.
A great test Max could add is in relation to streaming software encoding TBH. It was a major question I had which I couldn’t find anywhere else.
Come on guys, you make videos and you know this. Playback is not the same as editing.

@@MaksimYuryev Hey thanks for the footage. My Mac Pro 12core w5700x using FCPX played the Sony footage well. Only the 120fps 10bit hit dropped frames. The Canon on the other hand it could only play the 8bit footage. My Mac could only play the 12bit footage as optimized ProRes files (which is not too bad). My GPU processor was at 60 -90 % playing the Canon files and the gpu memory was almost maxed out, My Cpu only was at 60%. I think I will get the Sony a7sIII with the atmos and use prores raw. I like the Canon Colors but I need Multicam and low light. And I want raw for my music videos for vfx. I wonder if the big navi GPU when they come out will fare better. hmmm
Thomas Piper that’s you performing? You’re a king 👑
Do you see any reason to get the 10 core vs the 8 core? Would Luts and graphics added to the video take advantage of the extra 2 cores? I’m curious if After Effects would see any considerable improvements with the additional processing power?
Yea thats the one thing I dislike about these video tests... I mean, its easy for a computer to playback 1 layer of video. How about doing a realistic scenario. 1 layer of 4k video, 10 bit. And 1 layer of titles with animation, and one layer of a lut, also add in transitions like a ripple fade, or swoosh to a another 4k scene. Oh and last but not least 1 layer of audio (music) on top of all that. I think i would be satisfied to see that, instead of being skeptical still...i mean one layer of video is not realistic at all... tell me one video you've made with one layer of video... yawns 🥱
@@DuceLeeTV Almost everything is one layer of video even if you're cutting between it unless your doing picture in picture. In my detailed tests I do use multiple luts and effects just like you would. I'd like to do more but it gets a little tough because I need everything to match between 3 programs. Nvidia is unveiling the Ampere-based RTX 3000 series today. With any luck, it'll have hardware-based decoding of HEVC 4:2:2 footage. Pascal can do hardware decoding of h.265 4:2:0 and 4:4:4, but not 4:2:2. developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-video-codec-sdk (note the fine print that says "4:2:2 is not natively supported on HW"). Kind of a strange omission. Anyway, not sure about AMD. Apparently the 5700XT has no issues with it, OR Apple added a chip specifically designed to handle it.
Max, i'm upgrading to 2020 i7 5700XT 5K iMac from 2017 iMac which was running with an AMD RADEON PRO WX 9100 EGPU - Could this be used with the new model or would you suggest there would be no benefit in keeping it?

Great video, I am on the lates everything including M1 MBP. My final cut will not accept my MP4 files from my a7siii? Message says the document could not be opened Final Cut Pro cannot open files in the “mpeg-4 movie” format? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I wonder if you had a Mac Pro with 2 w5700x would it play better. Also when big navi comes out will the Mac Pro fair better .hmm
Now for the 2019 MacBook Pro for a7siii!
Hey Max! I Geekbenched my new iMac 2020 8 cores/Radeon 5700XT with an BMD Pro eGPU Vega 56 attached. While my scores are on par with yours at around 60 000 for the 5700XT I was surprised to obtain 72 000 with the Vega! 🤨 How is this possible? “Only” 8 gigs of RAM and 4x PCI Lane over TB3 for the Vega vs 16 gigs of RAM and 16x PCI Lane!
YOU CHANGED YOUR NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND LOGO!!!!!
Multicam project at full quality not happening. This IMAC is almost bottlenecked with 1 camera video clip. Computers should be able to handle 3 cameras. Imagine if Audio software were limited to 1 layer of audio, and then the CPU maxed out. Not fun.
Will the 4:2:0 play flawlessly on the MacBook Pro 16? I dowloaded some 422 a7siii footage and it didn't turn out too well lol.
Hey there Max, thanks for the great content! Maybe you can help me with some advice.
I‘m looking to buy a Mac that can leverage Multicam editing on FCPX. I‘d love to be able to drop off my Sony 4K footage (mostly 4 up to 8 angles, sometimes even 16) and then start editing without proxies or even optimizing the clips. Is that even possible? And if so, do I need a pro model with afterburner, or is it sufficient to work with the new iMac model? Thanks for your reply!
Will the 4K 120fps from the R5 play smoothly in Davinci resolve using proxies or optimised media? Or will it still stutter?
Hey Max great video! Thank you about that! Can I edit my Sony A7s III 10bit 4k 120 FPS Footage smooth and fast without proxy on FCPX ??
My hackintosh plays 4K 100fps smoothly in Resolve with a RX580. resolve rocks hevc.
Hi Max, why is the 120 footage of the a7s3 struggle at 3:30? What do you think? Thanks Marco
May as well get a hot i9 since you are talking about the hot R5. The 8 core i7 is what I have
Maybe just buy the proper card for the Mac Pro? In particular a Navi based one? The idea of the machine is to buy components as technology progresses.
I wonder if the new rtx GPUs finally will be able to handle 4:2:2
People generally want most high res cams with way more stuff inside ..
But where they actually miss out is wheather the editing rig is actually even capable of editing those footages ...and so is the vise versa sometimes
is the 16gb 5700xt available for hackint... I mean, PCs?
max i really dont understand how my pc can run 8K and 4K 120fps so good looks like better then this mac
Will you be testing the new NVIDIA 30-series to see how they will handle this footage?
For Sony A7SIII you mentioned 10-bit 4.2.2 (which is problematic) and 10-bit 4.2.0 (which wasn’t), what is the quality difference since they’re both 10-bit?
The 4:2:2 has a bit less color compression (4:4:4 is uncompressed color) BUT I haven't been able to see the difference in my tests even when pushing it.
Max Yuryev Thanks for the clarification! 😃👍🏻 I’m on a MacBook Pro 16" (late 2019) with maxed out RAM and graphics card, but all of a sudden I fear it’s obsolete. I hope not since I’m thinking about getting the Sony A7SIII... 😬
Keep your MAc Pro so you can test and review all the crazy new PCIe cards that we hope to upgrade with in the future....
Are you advising to get the i7 because it is faster with a single core? Or are you recommending the i7 solely based on price to performance? If cost was not a factor, which one of the i7 and i9 is better? I'm using Davinci Resolve for Fusion, and Fusion depends on high base clock speed, so I'm wondering if the i7 could actually be a better buy, irrespective of cost?
Check our the vid on Max Tech later today for that! ua-cam.com/channels/ptwuAv0XQHo1OQUSaO6NHw.html
How about the GoPro hero 8
Hi Max, would it be possible to download this footage to test my system on?
Will the Mac Pro with W5700X or a Radeon 7 have better results?
i7 it’s better ? I think
To be honest at this point its mostly about software and proper utilization. It is interesting to look at it in the current state nonetheless.
Love your playback tests! Can you do the same with a PC ryzen 9 system?
Do you have any predictions about a possible Sony A7IV release?
University 🎓
Hi! What software do you use to check the load of the CPU and GPU?
“Don’t shoot ALL-I, shoot IPB”. Well 4K120 on R5 is ALL-I only.
Fortunately they announced that they are adding more IPB modes in the next updates.
Brazill Media not really, they said they will provide lower bitrate options for all IPB modes (so only the existing ones probably)
@@birdymeo Ah, true. The phrasing is a bit confusing. "Added low bitrate mode to RAW and IPB for all resolutions and frame rates". Almost makes it sounds like they'll be adding IPB for all resolutions and framerates.
THE LONG AWAITED VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Been shooting in the standard profile on my R5 since my computer I have now just can’t handle the 10-bit 4:2:2 unfortunately. Now just gotta wait for the video comparing 10-core vs 8-core and I’ll be making the purchase for this iMac, might go for the extra cores just to be safe. Thank you so much man!
Going up today on the Max Tech channel: ua-cam.com/channels/ptwuAv0XQHo1OQUSaO6NHw.html
Justin Nutt how is the R5 footage doing and did you get the extra cores
This is helping me as I configure a post-production workstation.
What's it like with resolve studio log and graded 10bit?
Is imac have cpu like intel ? Or imac have its own cpu in its lcd?
Crazy to see CDA Tubbs in a video. Nice work.
Have you thought about getting the w5700x instead of selling your Mac Pro? I got it and it’s been amazing
I could, but I'm basically cashing out on this system and pulling funds out for something else.
is it 10bit still on the sony of its shot in 4:2:0?
What about the Mac Pro with the W5700x?
And what about the 8k and 8k raw?
Hey Max....so am I hearing this is good thing to give away? Lol
Hi max, awesome review but i have a doubt. I need to buy an iMac for video, photo and music production but i'm not sure with the processor. In your opinion, what’s de best option in terms of productivity and performance: i7 (8 core) or i9 (10 core)? I read that the i7 can outperform the i9 and this blow up the fans 😅 Thanks in advance!

Roger March what did u end up getting
I have a max out imac pro . Did you try it also on that ?
How do you have beard over her and not on Max Tech!?
I only have a 2018 6-core, rx 560x MacBook Pro but will still edit the a7siii’s footage in this machine as I‘ll record proxies simultaneously anyway🤷🏻♂️
Buying a high end machine just to have a better vision of thr final video is not worth thousands of dollars tbh.
The iMac is still a beast btw and I love those tests, keep on that great work👍
Käsekuchen mit Sahne wait so spending the money isn’t worth it?
You can edit with proxies on most machines but if you're working with graphics, animations, effects that will be rendering 4K on a 4K timeline you still need power for that so it depends on what you're doing and it depends on your financial situation. I would argue that you spend a lot more time editing than shooting and people spend a ton of money on cameras, lenses, lighting, etc. You should also invest into your editing computer.
Is there a 16GB version of the 5700XT we can buy for hackintosh?
Nope.
AMD should be pushed to be into all Macs
Anybody getting the nano-texture screen?
I did. Probably not worth it for me but I figured it has better resell value :D
Monkeypixels same! Lol are you worried about the durability?
@@DB-lr6kl no, should I :D
Monkeypixels I’ve heard it could be fragile, just make sure you clean it with the included cloth! I’m going to call Apple once I get it to have a backup.
