    I don’t want presets, I want knowledge. Parallel filter was a revelation.

    I hate when producers call it "sidechain" when it's really "ducking". You are the first one to say that sidechaining is something completely different 🙏

    I do agree with your take on tweaking > presets on the go, actually I followed you on the previous vid and got very interesting results that helped me finish one of my tracks with the texture patch but there's always something that make presets not to fit perfectly on top of a song, there's always room for improvement and tweaking and experimenting which makes the whole music making endeavour very interesting in my opinion. Kinda excited to make Vital my main bassline just to take a break from Sylenth. Also to watch you have your way with VSTs is a whole learning experience, I wouldn't have imagined that two parallel filters would be so useful!

    Very nice! Thanks a lot! It would be interesting to see how do you adjust the the LFO tool. For me this is always the most tricky part to balance between a smooth fade and no click.

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  2 роки тому +2

      6:32 you can see LFO settings, see the last dot is slightly inside, and that create a curve simulating fade out effect. It is better than smooth option under it.

    I like your videos a lot, amazing quality, but to be perfect I think would be better if you start things from scratch. I am a beginner and I have a hard time trying to get the same results, but thank you for the the knowledge anyway. Keep going 👏👏👏

    Always great videos, but sadly UA-cam's codec doesn't do the sound justice, its really hard to hear some of the more subtle changes you are getting from the plugins sometimes. I'd love to be able to hear what it really sounds like sitting in that studio. Maybe you could bounce down some of the sounds you make before and after the processing and have them available to download so we can really hear what is going on?

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  2 роки тому +1

      Ah, i must dissapoint you. But not hearing all small changes is not bwcause of youtube or your ears, it is because of the whole listening envirement, soeakers, converters, room. I know that this is information that is hard to accept, but I have problems hearing those changes at home, where I have Focal Solo Be6 speakers, but an old M-Audio sound card, whole even from UA-cam, I can listen to everything clearly in the studio. :(

    What do you mean when you say you set the decay to 1/16th of the track's bpm when setting that perimeter. How do you calculate that?

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  Рік тому +1

      BPM = Beats Per Minute
      If the BPM=140, it measn it punches 140 times in minute, and each minute has 60000 ms
      60000ms / bpm = 1/4 or 1 Beat
      1/4 / 4 = 1/16th.
      In Serum you have an option im gerenal window to check, double clikc for the value, and then you after doible click on parameter you can enter 1/16

      @kudahandi Рік тому

      @@EClipChannel thanks a lot, man...I'm going through your tutorial as we speak..lol. Yes..so once I calculate the length of the sixteenth note for a particular bpm, I can have all my notes to the correct length. For example..at 140bpm, my bass notes should decay at around 0.106 ms,..am I right?

    • @kudahandi
      @kudahandi Рік тому

      or 15/bpm for the length of a quarter in that session ??

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  Рік тому +1

      @@kudahandi well, you can have an idea how long your notes should be, but If you set it to 1/16 and you have some processing after that, and if you bounce 1/16 you will see that it’s gonna be longer than 1/16.
      So do not take it that seriously as the release will be making this note more than 1/16, some EQ boost will extend the note as well. So I use that mostly when I deal with the Filter Envelope.

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  Рік тому +1

      @@kudahandi quarter is 4x1/16 - and you get 1/4 (quarter) just by dividing 60000 by the bpm. From kick to kick is a quarter, which is the same as a "beat", bpm - "beats" per minute.
      1 minute = 60 000ms
      bpm = 140
      1 Beat (quarter, 1/4) = 60 000 / bpm (140) = 428,5 ms
      1/16 = 428.5/4 = 107.1ms
      It's super easy, can be confusing in the beginning but just write down:
      1/4 (beat) = 60000 / bpm
      1/16 = beat (1/4) / 4
