Ah ha! - a bit of Olafur Arnalds style timbre @2:28 - that's what I like - I am currently mulling hardware synths & Peak is top of the list. Think you have definitely swung me. Care to share the basics of the patch? Some people have said that hiss/noise floor is an issue with the Peak; I can hear it in this?
Hey Rob, thanks for your comment. Let me just say if you want that analog warmth feel, the Peak is not best at that. But it is very good at superfat, distorted and complex patches. I didn't notice hiss. If there is, it is caused by my cheap interface. This is just a single saw wave with randomness with multiple LFOs to pitch and filter. The looper is of course causing all the doubled voices and fatness. Hope this helps! Cheers
@@MatthijsvanderWilt hey man... yea i know it's not all about the analog warmth but for me I can't bond with the rev2 which would be the easiest replacement here - despite its cool features and nice sound. I like the idea of digital and analog timbres for this time. I think this sounds v close and analog sound is very subjective don't you think. Thanks for sharing the concept of how you did this since I am new to pure synthesis .... it embarrasses me to think that I probably never programmed any patches when I used to buy expensive ROMpler keyboards... beyond a bit of AMP envelope tweaking. I'm excited! And I've found one in my country but hoping they will go better on the price.
@@LordoftheBadgers I honestly don't think this synth will give you more than a rev2. Especially if you are new to patching. I ve worked on software synths and I do and still think that anything can be achieved on software synths if you dive into synthesis. Good example is Zebra 2. Great plugin
@@MatthijsvanderWilt I definitely want hardware. I like the physical nature of it - I find software too mouse clicky. I can't say why the rev2 doesn't appeal. I feel the sequencer isn't necessary to me. The multi timbral... well.... technically I can afford a Summit.... but I feel I want portability, and i have a keystep 37 with its sequencer...
I love it! By the way, how did you stand your Peak up like this? Do you have a custom stand for the module or is it somehow securely propped against something?
@@ecjboon actually I did a search and immediately found some guys making fibre board stands that are far sturdier for half the price. One guy made a stand for the arturia keystep plus peak. For half the price and not made of cheap looking abs plastic
I'll never get sleep with that extraordinary machine. I loved 😍 ♥️
love the stomach-dropping glide at 4:20. incredible piece.

@@LordoftheBadgers Ok that is a good point. Hardware feels indeed much more like an actual instrument
Nice

Thanks Kevin, no I just put it against the 'insides' of my piano :)
There is a set of stands specially for the Peak. Just google 'Novation Peak stand' and you'll find it.
