Thanks so much Freddie, it was SO much fun and going through each iteration (and getting it wrong … a lot!!! Was half the battle, super satisfying stuff!) A member of the Discord mentioned they were going to try the same thing but for rhythm and textures which I think will be an equally satisfying venture!!
This is one of your best episodes by far! I love this kind of musical approach. I’m using MPC one since I decided to work in a more organic way so I’m gonna figure out how to make something like this. Thank you so much!
Super lovely indeed! I'm not sure if you explored VCV but it's heaven for generative and has many more options that Ableton won't let you do. As for your bass thing, I think an option you could do is use the Shaper, but switch it to manual. This will allow you the option to scroll through the shape you made. That can make some super lovely envelopes for the bass.
I’ve been following your videos for a while now, and I really enjoy your approach to music production and the depth of your content. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to create a 15-minute ambient minimal track that features evolving percussion, dynamic pad structures, and a smooth, cohesive bassline blending seamlessly with the ambient elements, all generated using AI-driven composition techniques. I’d love to see how you approach this concept! Christian
Great video! Regarding the bass, couldn't you alternatively use a Max for Live hold device to sustain the note indefinitely? Is there any advantage to using the technique you described instead?
Spooky, I had this conversation with a member of the Patreon just this week! I think that would probably be a better idea as the bass was super tricky, yes! :)
thanks for the review, m8. But I stay on live 10. The downloads are for Live 11 and 12. Ableton keeps on upgrading ofcourse and the prices aren't low. For me it's cheaper to keep on using Valhalla Shimmer/Room and the three free plugins and some many more. But it's possible to create the effects as well with Live 10 only. I also have a Strymon BigSky so i'll be okay. But you've created a nice preset. Love it
Yep, links are in the description and I wrote them on screen at the start! Supermassive, Creative Extensions, Inspired By Nature. The last 2 will give you a bunch of devices.
I'm going to study this and apply it to Logic Pro X. Unfortunately, while Live is a somewhat popular DAW, there are many others who use Logic Pro as well as other DAWs who will not necessarily know how to adapt your template for their DAW. Worse yet, if you want to use the Intro version of Live, you're out of luck being able to use the packs that you're calling out here... and Live is more than double the price of Logic Pro. Yeah, Live DOES do things that Logic doesn't readily do, but does that justify twice the price? I'm not yet convinced... and the UI approach is so backward from most other DAWs. Oy! In spite of the above, I find the info here to be well worth it. Thanks, Will! Cheers!
I'm not a try hard Ableton fan, I use Studio One too and Logic from time to time, but yes, I think it justify the price, and the UI, for me at least is more clean and modern than most of all other DAWs, maybe except Studio One(that can become cluttered sometimes), Live looks easy to your eyes and the layout is more logic than Logic xD. Try the demo and spend some time in Live... try even to go more experimental with it, the DAW itself permit that !
Logic doesn’t do this. Unless you want to use Reaktor or Softtube stuff as well. The cost of the 3rd party stuff brings it up to the price of Ableton Suite anyway.
Ah, the classic strategy of begging for money in exchange for mediocre content. Yes, because clearly the privilege of viewing your subpar videos warrants my hard-earned cash. Unsubscribing seems like the only logical response to such a generous offer
Thanks so much for stopping by. Much like all of my videos, they’re complete tutorials that you can follow along and build yourself, I don’t skip any of steps and there’s no secrets. The Patreon is simply a time saving exercise for those who don’t want to build the template themselves 😊 Hope you find the channel you’re looking for!
One of the best demonstrations of how Ableton could be modular and fully ready to make serious Ambient music. Congrats.
I love how much you enjoyed making this video. I was emiling throughout the whole tutorial. Excellent!
I’m so pleased that translated through the screen! It’s all about the emotion!
What i love moat about this video is seeing how much you clearly enjoyed making it and the final output. Great stuff!

I was thinking the same thing, love how pleased Will seems
Fantastic sounds and video guide! Thanks for taking the time to share this!
Thanks for leaving such kind words!
I'm here to support you! Good job! Keep it up! I'm gonna download the template on the patreon
Appreciate you coming along for the ride!
This is so sick! Using this as a base for my live stream! thank you for making this!
Enjoy!

Oh dude! I’m so excited for you, let me know how you get on!
Leet's goo! This is sick! I need to learn ableton's "inspired by nature" devices 🙃
They’re a handful but a lot of fun!!
Excellent as always! Your channel is absolutely amazing 🎉
That’s so kind! Thank you

I haven’t looked at VCV! I’ll check it out thanks, good shout on the bass too. Will revisit!
Great tip on the manual shaper for bass. As advised, scrubbing through the Manual setting via mapping with a unique pattern produced huge results!

love this generative techniques!!!!
Me too! Glad it resonates!
amazing! thank you 🙏
Happy to help!
Really holding out here for the random generated income template :D - great video man!
I think MrBeast has cracked that one
im so early and i know its gonna be a banger of a video!
This has truly been my favourite thing to make in Ableton 12 so far!
it absolutely was a banger of a video
@@Kimiuk.mp4 I am so pleased you think so!
Nice video thx, please how do you setup the global 'Key' signature button in the ableton quick access ?
Do you need live 12 suite for this or will standard work?
Suite unfortunately!
Amazing. Works in Windows, with vst, and not au version of plugins? Thanks
you mentioned theres a "shopping list" of free devices to download, but you never actually show the list. can you share that please?
Yep, links are in the description and I wrote them on screen at the start!
Supermassive, Creative Extensions, Inspired By Nature. The last 2 will give you a bunch of devices.
@@WillHatton are the last 2 available for 12 standard? I tried to download them but the button is greyed out.
Très cool : )
I do not see the point of messing with envelope follower and shaper. I think it can be removed.
Thanks for your input, I’ve contacted Ableton and they’ve since removed it from all updates.
I saw the purpose itself not. I have both of the tools in my ableton but did not understand the purpose in the bass line.
Not generative at all, but is good :)

Big problem. Others with FL, Reaper or Cubase have to translate the tutorial too 🤷♂️ yet you don't see them bitching

Just Ableton bro.
Bitwig is a lot like Live on account of being designed by former Ableton employees

Salty much
And what are you providing to the community dude? Apart from negative energy

dude is just having a terrible life experience and taking it out on everything around him, don't bother
played in bands with people like this and they don't last long
cant find the project on patreon
