    Plain edge and serrated blade on the same tool is a big win for me.

    It’s amazing how some reviewers don’t understand the functionality of what there reviewing. In this case, expecting full size function in a “mini multitool” complains of a 2” blade. Should it be 4”? Go review a full size then.

    This is one of those you have to mod to get the most out of. It's so darn close to being there, but it just falls short in stock form.

    Agreed! Bought one last year and used it for a month before it ended up in a drawer. The pliers are decent, but everything else feels cheap and I had a couple tools bend with light use.

    You mean it is PINT sized .. dam!
    Been the best EDC multi for something like a decade bout time it caught on. But some aren't up to the tool YET.
    Scissor spring will break but scissors continue to work (and then easy to sharpen) and a drop of glue and a magnet or a scrunchie to keep tool closed in pocket and file a can opener to have a flat screwdriver. Can reverse grip so pliers between handles to grip bigger pipes/nuts than any bigger multi-plier. Easy to remove blades if going to a country where that is a problem or file the back of blade once removed so it can't lock. Different countries and task need different bits and you can buy GOOD bits and canabilise your surroundings assuming you can problem solve. Pliers a size worth carrying unlike the play pliers/big tweezers on a dime or even the surprisingly weak skeletool or the useless victorinox grippers that can't cut a fishook or wore or staple that hooks you randomly so why have an emergency tool at all.
    Funny people that are too lazy to bother knowing the tool they chose to publicly opinionate on has compound leverage pliers demands some delusional perfection using metrics they have had marketed to them or imagined or emoted instead of using the tool for a decade and seeing whats what .. prbs. why the low likes for a clip about a very interesting tool on a very popular topic.

      yeah it's truly small. Thanks for all the tips. I'm keeping it around because I I know it will be useful but it's just not EDC for me.

    The crimper is on the other/inner side of the plier head. If the pliers are pointing away from you, the crimper would be on the joint side closest to you.

    I have one and the scissors are actually extremely useful. Ive used them to cut paracord thin wire and a lot more.
    Your attempt to cut paracord was not a realistic attempt. They are small tools put the paracord in the scissors then cut, not six strand wound together.
    The two different blades are handy i use the seriated for wire stripping and the straight blade for fine cutting.
    For the blade and other tools all indid was put a little bike chain wax on them and they open one handed. Which is a huge bonus.
    To each is own but i dont think you gave it a fair chance. I use mine daily and it hasn't let me down.

    • @CurlysCurated
      @CurlysCurated  Рік тому

      Definitely gonna try you bike chain tip! Thanks for that.
      You must have gotten lucky nad got better scissors on yours than I did. I just retested them now and it took me 12 chews to get through a basic paracord-and i mean chews. They don't cut it.
      Ah, yeah the serated would be useful for wires. I don't do much of that so for me it's more than I need, but as you say too each their own.

      Now if only sog would get their shit together and get quality control down their tools would be worth a shit cause sorry one good example vs a company that's known for questionable at best quality control on their imported tools isn't confidence inspiring.

      You're half right. I'm definitely disappointed by it, but pretty much every UA-cam review I saw was raving about it--kinda like all the comments I got on this video. But to be fair it was an experimental purchase anyhow. 😂

    @Curly's Curated; The scissors suck, hands down Victorinox is better. I've seen a guy mod some faux vic scissors into the powerpint. I've pulled out more beard hairs with them than moustache hairs trimmed on mine. I am currently waiting to get a warranty replacement on mine because the file has absolutely no tooth to it. Mine can't even file a fingernail. If you want a slightly more elegant solution to your ranger band I suggest a tiny magnet on the inside of the handle on the black bit it's just enough magnet to keep the tool closed. I believe when I get my replacement I will drill then glue a magnet in place so it doesn't slide around. Hope this helps.

    • @CurlysCurated
      @CurlysCurated  Рік тому +1

      I'm starting to wonder about the quality control on these things. My file is awesome yet yours sucks. Someone else says their scissors are great and mine can't cut shit. I wonder if they are making these in different factories.

    Apparently you should be more satisfied from Victorinox products. I have Tinker, Super Deluxe Tinker, Handyman, LM Charge+, LM Rebar. Most often I carry Handyman in front pocket. Can’t explain exactly why but it’s small enough and has still everything almost you can imagine. Pliers are not that important at all, so small pliers are more than enough. Quality is superior. Depending what use you have Cyber tool might be an option, but not the L version. LM has quality issues all the time. My Rebar is fine but Charge has some play on serrated and less on main blade. And you can painfully squish hand when using pliers 😂

    Disappointed at this review. You want something small, then complain that it had small blades and scissors? I own this, and both the knifes and the scissors serves me well. Definitely not a do it all, and it’s not designed to be, agree with nowhere to keep a bit head. It didn’t appear that you’ve used it for a while, then why review it if you’ve not used it at length?

  • @davekrauser7070

    You really didn't do your homework on this tool. The scissors may not impress you because they are small, but they cut great, yes they cut paracord if you know how. You want a 4 inch blade on a 3 inch tool? You really need to know what your talking about before you share your opinions. It hasn't even occurred to you the options a quarter inch driver affords you. The gears on the pliers double the force of the grip.

    SOG beats Leatherman on a huge scale and Leatherman breaks faster and falls apart due to poor quality steel but sog is high quality and stronger people underestimate the sog you'll never see a Leatherman in war or in active service unless it is personal gift or present but yet you'll never see Leatherman in any armed services sog power pint is a pilot's survival tool it's Navy use and seal team use I hate Leatherman it's utter crap and can't hold up blades go dull fast and the sicers and bits suck and they break but sog takes a regular bit for drills and is not crap flat and cheap get bits at a hardware store and get a tool pouch thing as well
