As a transwoman, I am so happy to have role models like Laverne Cox, Janet Mock, and Angelica Ross to look up to. What a beautiful interview packed with knowledge, clear articulation, and lots of empathy.
Being alone early on is strength building but also scarring. You learn to shut parts of you down that probably never grow back from a childhood on your own.
I've never been this early. I'm cis bisexual black female but Laverne is soooooo important to hear from and to have around, especially now in America. Already such a classy talent but what a beautiful soul! People should just be and live authentically as they are without having others trying to tell them who they are or should be. Having body autonomy is important. Be on purpose!
The most genuine podcast I’ve ever heard from any person ever. The most real. The most authentic words spoken, from a beautiful human being, with such a beautiful, deep, rich soul. Thank you Laverne, for speaking on voices who can’t be heard, and for using that voice to create spaces for those who can’t be heard by society. I pray that you’re protected, and that you continue to touch light on peoples lives. THANK YOU.
Only just started - this is landing on me perfectly right now. Going to check out everything she references because it is so in line with my experience and timing. Love her - liked her before - love her now! Love you too Jay! Thank you both - you are helping people and changing lives! xoxo
Im so happy to hear from her experience, she’s such an amazing actor and person. It’s inspiring to hear where she came from and how she overcome her struggles 💖 My jaw dropped when she said she’s 51 years old? Where?!
Spoke right to me! I wanted to sleep always from the depression and draining anxiety. When I slept I didn't feel pain. My parasympathetic system does not know to work, I need it be reset. If I could only afford the simple quick treatment for it.
ooop, I'm early! Hearing Laverne speak about her journey with "repairing her inner child" is so validating, really resonates. PS, I love your videos; I've learned so much and I've only just started watching a couple of weeks ago. This indeed was a powerful episode 💖
WOW... no matter who you are, what your history is, where you're at in life, etc.-- there are SO many points that Laverne makes that are almost too relatable (if that's even possible). I appreciate her words so much. We are all human and in this together. in a world where everything is more costly than ever before- Let's treat each other with love and kindness, as both of those are free.
I love that! I wanna talk in ways people can understand but not dumb myself down! I love this bc that is how I feel. I’m intelligent and I’m done dumbing myself down.
I was hoping for more of a conversation. So much i wanted to learn and hear from her. I am not sure what went wrong. Shes so beautiful 🎉.. it was wonderful to watch her 😍
Sorry I didn't knew this beautiful person existed.. 51 what? She looks amazing.. I'm 40 but I can relate to all the thoughts spinning in her head. What a lovely soul, wish her all the best ❤
Thank you for making this podcast, Jay! Very eye opening on some situations that I was uninformed about. I would like to know more about the transgender community. I work in education and have students that identify as transgender. I would like to know more, so that I can better support them.
I'm the same age as Laverne...I can say I do not look that good! 😊 She speaks truth. Not allowing for another person's reality, but governing their rights in ignorance is truly the issue we are facing. Discomfort be damned. We have to face our bias and learn how to accept. God gave us a final commandment to LOVE one another. Now if we can put that into action. So much more difficult to do that just say. Still...we need to make the effort.
Lavernne!! Queen ! 👸🏽 Perfect podcast ! Congrats Jay 🎉 PS.: IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE GISELE WITH U AGAIN AFTER EVERYTHING SHE WENT THROUGH ! (BUNDCHEN BTW) ❤
Top favourite podcast host that is Jay & his podcast's consistency! All amazing celebrities & people you bring on to the podcast has given me a great stability l earned! Keep up the great work Jay😊
I cried so much during this, she brought up the true and ugly and VERY REAL, the beautiful things too. It was bitter sweet. I'd love to have a drink with her 🤣

I think there’s a misconception here. The biggest issue, hold by many people, is the change of concepts, the ’transwomen are women’ and the policy problems that come with it. Most people don’t care about your personalities. Meeting happy transpeople doesn’t resolve this, though maybe it would be easier to discuss these issues. But yes, there is the ’transpeople are miserable’ argument too. I’d really encourage people like her taking position more on the front of the movement demandinf trans rights
Wonderful guest, about halfway through and I noticed some comments talking transphobic trash. I would guess that many of them are not actual Jay Shetty listeners given how ignorant they are. I would hope that if you listened to this podcast often, your mind would be open to her.
Nope - the t delusion / lie will never be tolerated in mass and it’s a fad that will die out … just like the chemically castrated people they’ve experimented on
I hope this person finds all of the healing and health that they are looking for. However, there are many logical holes in their conditions for participating in society and the allowances for other people to point out the disfunction in their demands.
Jay,I have all of your books, follow your work, and love it,BUT the way this "conversation" went...I felt like you didn't agree with half of it,but didn't say a word! 1:04:50 Yes,you make people uncomfortable...just watch the Openning of the Olymics! You'll understand what "uncomfortable means".
Agreed. I have a pet peeve about podcast hosts talking over and interrupting guests, but this interview went too far in the other direction. LaVerne basically turned this into a therapy session. Love her but no thanks.
Hey jay, i am waching your videos, its very informative and i am seeing your video to learn English, i am sure most of the indian is seeing your video for same purpose, could u please add subtitles in your videos if it possible. It will very helpful to us.
I'm sorry but saying that everything boils down to transphobia (in regards to gender affirming care and trans people in sports) is such a shallow perspective.... I didn't really expect anything else but I'm still a bit disappointed.
Haven't you read the new 10th edition New Speak Dictionary yet? We have already abolished so much of the old speak and replaced it with just the words we deem truthful. Because they have always been truthful. That's double plus good! 👍🏻😉
As a transwoman, I am so happy to have role models like Laverne Cox, Janet Mock, and Angelica Ross to look up to. What a beautiful interview packed with knowledge, clear articulation, and lots of empathy.
Lady Laverne Cox is such a gift. SUCH a gift. Pleeeez open a school Ms. Cox! Jay Shetty, you just keep bringin it, bro. Gratitude!!!🙏🏾💛🔥.
Being alone early on is strength building but also scarring. You learn to shut parts of you down that probably never grow back from a childhood on your own.
This is worded so well. Good comment.
Sadly this resonates
You can reclaim yourself. All parts. See if you can look up Heidi Priebe. She's brilliant and real. With love, take care. 🙏🤗❤️🙂

I love hearing Laverne speak! She brings me so much joy & I am in awe of her!

SAME. I am a cis white female and I STANNN for Lavern cox hard.
Outside reading in why the need to use the word cis? You see this man of colors picture ❤
I just did it when it's clear I'm a person of color hehehe

Well, 51 is not really old. Especially if you never really allow yourself to be a boring "grown up" 😃
Trauma always takes time to heal. It doesn't happen overnight, but as long as you make steady progress, it will happen over time!
Spoke right to me! I wanted to sleep always from the depression and draining anxiety. When I slept I didn't feel pain. My parasympathetic system does not know to work, I need it be reset. If I could only afford the simple quick treatment for it.
What is the simple quick treatment?
Laverne, keep up the good work, and always keep your shine! You are gorgeous inside and out! You are definitely living On Purpose! 🤗💛
Ms. Cox is a blessing to the world ❤

Smart, knowledgeable and caring...We do see you for who you are!!!❤ much love
Fantastic. I learned so much. She is so very intelligent, passionate, and very clear in her words. Thank you Jay for allowing her to share so much.
Thank you for making this podcast, Jay! Very eye opening on some situations that I was uninformed about. I would like to know more about the transgender community. I work in education and have students that identify as transgender. I would like to know more, so that I can better support them.
Great conversation with Ms. Cox
such good timing 💞 really inspired by laverne and unwinding my thought processes because of all she had to say
I blindly put a "like" before it even started but.. WOW I'd do it again and again!! So much goodness to listen to 🫶🏼

I know some Black ppl don't like Brene Brown but as a social work student I ate up everything she said.
The transparency in this interview was amazing . Any marginalize community could listen and learn from what she spoke. Well done !

Amazing insights on capitalism and how that pervades our lives and policies. Real eye-opener!
