Jennifer Lawrence using her platform for good makes me love her even more. These women are doing the real work.
she really like katniss
She earned major props. 👏
Yeah I was so surprised seeing her attached to this kuddos to her
I also loved her when she supported women and girls in Gaza being blown up to bits, be starved and not have any healthcare facility open for them. Jennifer loved supporting Amy Schumer’s blatant racism to justify a siege on a city full of a million girls and women to destroy their lives ! Wow feminism is incredible.

Watching Jennifer step back, and have the conversation center around these women and their movie, made me exhale with gratitude. Thank you for not taking over. THAT is using your platform.❤ Malala, you are ASTOUNDLY brave and inspiring. Thank you for not giving an inch!❤
malala and Jennifer have been mute about Gaza women as to not upset Zionist Hollywood. Shame on them
I feel like Jennifer Lawrence is becoming a real life Katniss Everdeen and I’m completely here for it
Katniss Everdeen would stand up for Palestinian liberation (unlike Lawrence)
Katniss Everdeen is a woman living in Afghanistan or Gaza. Not a celebrity who has the privilege of advocating from a place of comfort. I’m not saying that to undermine her work here, but let’s have a bit of perspective before turning her into a hero which she IS not.
She just wants to be the next Meryl Streep. It's just a publicity excerise because her fame has faded.
@@peaceforall1996 Exactly this!
Real life Katniss Everdeen is Bisan Owda or Ahed Tamimi. Jennifer Lawrence is at best Effie Trinket.
1:33 never heard *Jennifer* speak in such a *serious tone* 😨 Shes always brings the laughs on screen or tripping on her dresses. She earns mad *respect* points for this
Level up would be calling out Israel but I'm not holding my breath
@@peaceforall1996She's besties with Zionist Amy Schumer and defended her... Yeah, that better be one big breath 🥲
True. My brain thinks every time shes speak she is got a little of wine but wow. She is totally different and amazing.
@peaceforall1996 that's the governments problem not hers so 🤷♂️ try again
Thank you ladies. This is why the whole world loves Malala. Especially the Afghan people.
They don't all love Malala, as a matter fact, most don't even know her.
nah I live on this Earth, and I don’t like Malala
@@supermanslajdj2902 most afgan women resemble korean like the afgan woman in the middle and some afgan women resemble indian like malala I served in afghanistan a country of cold dry dusty mountains
@@sammcclain752 that is not true that all Afghan women look like Koreans. The girl doesn’t have korean features or skin tone but either way it’s irrelevant to the subject matter. The country is a multi ethnic, tribes where all have different looks. Not sure why you brought this up.
Malala is a fake hero she has not done anything for Pakistan who rescued her, from afghan taliban and she has milked that story to earn her money yet never gave back to Pakistan
One teacher, one pen, one book, one documentary maker, one actress . . . can bring about change. Yes.
Thanks ladies for your thoughtful and corrageous efforts to give women of Afghanistan a voice. Onward.
Jennifer Lawrence Thank u for giving these women a voice!
I'll thank her when she uses her voice for Palestinian women.
@@hugolewis4896 Jezus, relax. Jennifer is already doing a lot by supporting these Afghani women and putting her life at risk.
@@markmarko609 Putting her lift at risk, please. She's just like the rest of Hollywood, hypocritical and spineless. And it's particularly egregious for her considering she made that famous speech about no longer being quiet and speaking out after Trump. The girl on fire who calls out bombing of hospitals in films is silent on that actually happening in Gaza
@@hugolewis4896
Exactly! Women rights, human rights, but no rights for Palestinian women and children. There are women who wear the Hijab that are not allowed education because of the Hijab. So let's include all women, and "share our solidarity with them."
@@hugolewis4896 why must it be so black and white? They are different conflicts.
As a woman and refugee from Central Asia, who was always a fan of Jennifer Lawrence, I’m so proud to see her stand up for Afghan women! But I do worry about the safety of the women in the documentary….I hope they will remain safe! It’s important to bring awareness about these subjects but to do so in a way that does not jeopardize the lives of those most affected.
Jennifer Lawrence, Malala, Sahra thank you for this documentary. 🙏
I was at the film premiere in LA, there are several parts that made me shiver and made me want to drive others to watch it.
Jennifer.. Girl!! The fact that you are using your voice, your knowledge, your platform and resources to be a part of this revolutionary film that can change millions of views and millions of lives of women under oppression.. Trust me, you are more than just educated..
Strong heroic women.
Absolutely.
God bless them
Be so for real. Jennifer Lawrence is getting a juicy check and thunderous applause for her commitment to an uncontroversial cause. What is heroic about any of it.
Let's hear the same for Palestinian and Sudanese women as well.
Those women just want to feed their children. In Palestine 1st survival in the face of Israeli Genocide get real.
And Iranian
Totally. Clearly Jennifer Lawrence can condemn a barbaric government when they're not Western allies....
Shhh they’re not allowed
I think that they should do that but I think Afghanistan is much worse and needs more attention that it is not getting.
Talk about women "doing something". This is very, very special.
Your purpose, Jennifer Lawrence, is much bigger than the educational qualifications that many have. You are a candidate for an honorary degree, and I know that's coming for you 🌱🙏🏽 . Keep on being fabulous! Great work and honor to all of you.
Jennifer Lawrence’s purpose extends well beyond formal qualifications.
Thank you Jennifer Lawrence for taking time to bring attention to this cause, not many other celebrities have done that. I can only think of Meryl Streep
Vanessa Redgrave 4 Palestine 🇵🇸
@@DeepDivingDiva333 nobody cares about Palestine
@@DeepDivingDiva333do you think women are more free in Israel or the Islamic nations? Gee I wonder
Jane Fonda too!
And Susan sarandon!
Thank you to these brave ladies.
This is heartbreaking and it’s been going on for too long. Malala is someone I have always looked up too and Jennifer Lawrence is one of my favorite actors of all time. Thank you all for helping so many and shedding light on this issue. We must help these women! ✨💙🙌
Adore when Celebs use their platforms in uplifting ways like this. Thank you to all three of these women, prayers be with the women of Afghanistan, and celebs PLEASE follow Jennifer’s lead.
I love that Jennifer is using her platform to raise awareness to important things. I didn't expect this from her but I respect it a lot.
I just finished watching it and I have never cried so hard! It was beautiful and just wish these women nothing but safety and love! May God bless you my friends!♥️
Thank you for this spot. I will watch and promote this doc.. amazing work, amazing women.
😮🙏 Thank You So Much Jennifer Lawrence , Malala & others who have sacrificed & contributed this project to illuminate the world about the sufferings of Afghans , particularly the much oppressed & abused Afghan women in Afghanistan under the extremist regime in Afghanistan ... 🙏🕯🌎✌🕊
Thank u to the big platforms like cbs and jlaw for helping these stories that need to be seen
I am happy to see these movements about Afghan women. I felt like the world turned its back on them and I love these women who are trying to help❤
Jennifer had and has options and a Choice!!! This women/girls don’t have a choice and never would !!! Thank you for telling their stories!!! Safe us women here and everywhere from such a future/ present 🤎
I've been following this story and praying for the women/girls since the Taliban took back over. The women were living inspiring lives until the Taliban took back over. There is also a 60 Minutes episode showing young girls being smuggled out to still get an education. They are in hiding. Glad a light is being shined on this even more.
A load of lies..
I didn’t know much about Malala’s story until I saw her Netflix interview with David Letterman. What a brave and inspiring young woman.
Working for CIA Makes You A Brave Woman?
Thank you so much for keeping at least a little bit of a spotlight on the situation for women and girls in Afghanistan. They are so brave to continue their protests in any way they can. We must continue to support our Afghan sisters. The news services must not allow the world to forget these amazing women. Let them go to school! Let them attain their careers so that they can help their nation and feed their families. Never give up.
Thank you ladies!
Thank you for continuing this important work. Women do the heavy lifting.
Now THIS is Hollywood wealth being applied where it’s useful and needed! I respect and appreciate Jennifer for it!
Im so proud of Jennifer Lawrence for doing this!! GREAT MOVE of hers. Liked her then but now i respect her hustle and vision even more.❤🎉
Jennifer Lawrence doing this means alot to the Afghan people thank you Jennifer because these women need justice from men who want to think of themselves as god
ty Jennifer, Malala and Sahra for you incredible courage. sending love peace and joy to all.
my opinion of Jennifer Lawerence just skyrocketed 🚀
God Bless Jennifer Lawrence for this, can't say the same about most Hollywood stars who can't even admit something as simple as wars being wrong & we need to prioritize peace instead of fund wars.
Unbelievable that some parts of the earth are still so backwards and hateful.
Grateful for ladies like these to help us see the humanity and light in all of that darkness.
Don't forget to scrutinize your own society for where issues also lie. It's all too easy to point fingers and forget our own flaws. No society is without issues. When we fail to acknowledge this, its in this denial that evil can be allowed to thrive.
Donald Trump, women need to be punished. You voted ladies.
Backwards and hateful like Israel (backed by the USA)? It's closer to home than you think
TBH most of it is exaggerated
Lots of it is not true and I have visited Afghanistan
@RJstudiosYT I agree with you. Taliban don't ban women from getting an education or going out or speaking. In fact, I've met with women from over there who are not only educated but intellectually bright, something that education alone can't give you. Regarding singing and music, it is forbidden in Islam and is forbidden for men and women alike.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I'm from Italy and I hope the documentary will be available here as well.
I am sooo proud of these women soooooooo proud you don't realize how big of a deal it is , lawrence using her platform that someone that deserve to be support that a real human THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORK SO MUCHHHHHHH , ITS A FIRST TIME IN HISTORY TO DO THAT FOR AFGHANISTAN WOMEN , MAY THE ONE WHO DID THAT PAY
You need to lower your bar a bit, how much you are proud of them... maybe if they had also unmasked how people especially women are suffering due to unilateral sanctions by "US Empire"or as I call it "American economic terrorism in Afghanistan" Women in my country are starving due to systematic isolation on the behave of US Empire, only then you and I would have been more proud of them.
Finally, somebody is telling this story
This is such a horrifying situation in 2024! Thank you to Jennifer Lawrence and everyone else who’s exposing and bringing awareness to the world. Hopefully some changes will come soon for the Afghan ladies.
Many people thought change was going to happen in 2002!
someone finally giving these women a voice instead of complaining about so called oppression here is america
I seriously don't thing women in the usa realize how unbelievably privileged they are
These women make me proud to be a woman. Brave.
What would be even more brave would be to condemn Israel
@@peaceforall1996 This is much more brave than condemning Israeli. Malala has s the girl that got shot by Taliban and is standing and fighting. It much more brave.
@peaceforall1996 literally Israel provides refuge for women all they time. Call out Fundmental Islam aka Sharia. Which is too causing a war in Israel .
All my respect to these women. Their courage is admirable.
I really pray for these women, and the work that other women with agency do to amplify the voices of the oppressed. May God bless them
Brave women. I don’t understand how women can be treated like vermin. It’s mind boggling in this day and age. I feel so sorry for the women of Afghanistan
I really don't 😢 i do try to understand it but it makes no sense whatsoever, its pure evil.
@ it’s heartbreaking to treat women in such an evil way. Women are miserable and feel like they live in prison. Don’t they want their women to be happy???
hello look around in America right now.
And yet we close of eyes to whats happening in Gaza. Women don't have the right to life! Children are being slaughtered because of zionist supremacy.
@@eileenhammer468 What are you talking about? I hope you're not comparing the lives of women in America to the lives of women in Afghanistan.
Thank you Jennifer Lawrence ❤❤❤
This documentary sounds incredibly powerful, highlighting such an important and urgent topic. Bringing together voices like Jennifer Lawrence, Malala Yousafzai, and Sahra Mani ensures the struggles of Afghan women are given the attention they deserve. Stories like these need to be told.
after 20 years of occupation that resulted in so many killed and more than 2 trillion dollars of waste. And especially after Gaza, the west would like to lecture about Afghan women being oppressed. please give me a break!!!
How about blame the jihadist rather America who was trying to bring structure in . During the time of American presence women were going to school having businesses amd experiencing some kind of freedom after Bidens withdrawn they abandoned the population. Gaza is the same mentality.
Seriously 💀
Its not about being educated, its about being HUMAN. Good for these 3 women.
What a shame that we left that country the way we did. These women are truly oppressed and I wish one day they can free.
Crying into my coffee wasn’t on my calendar today. Heartbreaking and sad. Soooo my next step is to see what my “next step” is after watching just a few clips. 💜
The Afghan women are living a Handmaid's Tale reality.
What about Gaza Women?
The reality is that many groups of women have been - and still are - living a Handmaid’s Tale reality, even in the US.
@@Nihari993what are you talking about. Of course the struggles of the Palestinians are awful and horrendous , but that doesn’t mean you can downplay the struggles of other people in the world. Stop with the negativity and stop carrying so much hate please.
@Nihari993 The Palestinians have brought their reality on themselves. Don’t vote for terrorists and don’t attack other countries.

I would like to politely acknowledge Ms Gayle King for orchestrating a insightful as well as emotionally dramatic imperson interview with Ms Jennifer Lawrence, Ms Sahri Mani, and Ms Malala Yousafzai producers of a new documentary "Bread & Rises". Ms King I absolutely were satisfied with the quality of questions you asked each individual and the amount of information you were able to obtain concerning the horrible experience women in Afghanistan experience. I totally applaud the unafraid bravery of each panelist especially Activist Malala Yousafzai. Ms Malala I strongly empathize with you concerning a vicious attempt to create your physical demise. I am honestly inspired by your courage to strive for equality against gender discrimination, lack of freedom for women to express themselves, and constant oppression in your native land. I always state every country has their own unique problems, whether the issue is based on religion, politics, or social class. However inspite of the ongoing turmoil women are facing in Afghanistan. I admire the inner strength each women inherit in order to present this particular documentary into public existence. Ms King I appreciate the fact that you share the information you received from each women to Nate and Tony. God bless all of you, my prayers are definitely with the people of Afghanistan. Happy holidays Ms King, Tony, and Nate.
I know majority of Pakistanis already hate Malala for being a whistle blower when they are so keen on presenting a 'soft image' of Pakistan but I am incredibly proud of her for being so honest, open and brave. They have no idea what we endure.
Jen, be proud of who you are............education is just a piece of paper.
"The number-one abuse of human rights on Earth, strangely not addressed quite often, is the abuse of women and girls." - President Jimmy Carter
I definitely want to watch this documentary shout out to these brave women!
Very well done piece Gayle…
Im so devastated by how these men are so monstrous it makes me want to cry
luv you Malala!!! ❤ i can't wait to see this! and how awesome is Jennifer Lawrence for bankrolling this film!
Having taught different students in different specialities, I have learned that the greatest thing any of us can achieve, is a wealth of empathy.
I’m sure Jennifer Lawrence has always had it, to the N’th degree & is now showing it…
I’m that respect - she is, in all likelihood, better educated than most on the Hill …
“I can’t imagine if just the sound of my voice was illegal” devastating
Thanks for bringing this back into our attention. I am often thinking about these amazing women who are living under oppression
as an afghan woman, thankyou!
Look at Malala how composed and empowered she is
Love and support.
These women are inspirational. We must keep pushing for change ❤
Nice work Gayle on the report. Thank you 🙏 Let’s hear more stories on PALESTINIAN WOMAN & CHILDRENS ONGOING struggle? What about elevating their voices ? And the women & children of CONGO & SUDAN. PLEASE Jennifer, don’t listen to your family & friends & DONT STOP TALKING ABOUT WHAT TRULY MATTERS!! Hollywood is OUT & HUMAN RIGHTS are IN! FINALLY??? ❤️🩹😭
This makes me love Jennifer Lawrence so much! ❤️
This is so important
It honestly breaks my heart that this is the reality of so many women and these 3 women are heros using their platforms and resources to bring awareness, world are you watching??
I think she forgot that her country is responsible behind the barbaric situation in Afghanistan
I've always loved JLaw but felt ambiguous about some of her choices as a Hollywood celebrity - I'm glad to see her mature and use her platform for advocacy that centers the voices of the survivors and activists!
Gayle! Please do more of this and far less fluff. The world is a horrible place especially for the vast majority of girls and women. I don't need more recipes or chummy interviews with celebrities. thank ypu to Jennifer and associates!
Yes, we need recipes and other positive things. News shouldn't always be about negativity. We want to see positive stuff too.
Thank God for this being made mainstream. Well done women 🫶🏼
Amazing!
Well done, congratulations to everyone. I hope that one day, these respected women will also share with us the lives of Palestinian women.
Palestinian women work as nurses and doctors and get educated. Palestians women cam choose to take off their hajab o if they want because of being within Israeli society they arent held by sharia law.
I know some Afghan women who were evacuated. They are all such wonderful inspirations. I wish we could help more!
find literacy programs and English classes in your area. There are Afghan women who never went to school and don't know how to read even in their first language. Teachers need classroom assistants and programs need tutors to help them with reading and writing.
this is why I love Jennifer Lawrence
God Bless you for this documentary ❤🇺🇸
I remember hearing about Malala when I was in elementary school, she looks strong 🫡🙌
It's good to see they are very concerned about women. I wish and hope these three women will also raise their voices for Palestinian women and children. One movie, one camera and one director can also bring change to society as director Sara Mani said.
Yes hopefully they’ll be liberated from Hamas

I am gonna just say one thing as a Afghan girl, Now It is just too LATE for doing anything .
My heart is with the women of Congo as well❤❤
It seems people here on this forum don’t value or have concerns for Afghan women. It’s like it’s not important to them that they state why not for Iran or Palestinians that I find concerning.
The video & photos of the protests give me chills because I have friends who shared videos with me of their participation, especially the demonstration they did in front of the Pakistan Embassy. Many women were beaten. Others were later arrested (I have a friend who was). Some did not survive. 😢
Wow I have already been a big fan of Jennifer, but my respect for her just skyrocketed.
Good for Jennifer 💚💚💚
Heartbreaking that this continues.
This is a wonderful awakening documentary .
Thank you for making it❤
Can't wait to see this documentary. We cannot let these women alone. Everyone must know what is going on!
Those Afgain are afraid of loosing their power over womenbut so are some American men. American men are trying to turn the clock back on the world.
Blessed be the women of Afghanistan!
America did NOT "give access and facilities" to afghans
I think Hollywood celebrities often overstep their boundaries, as we've seen lately. BUT if they are using their platform to bring awareness and to do good then I'm all for it.
That's a difficult one though because really what the boundaries end up being is, "I want you to speak up when I agree with you and I want you to just be an actor when I disagree with you." Truth is everyone loves celebrities in their corner and there's always a lot of hypocrisy about that. Classic example - a lot of the folk claiming to be tired of hearing from celebrities cheered on Clint Eastwood screaming at an empty chair at a political convention. I think the rule should just be everyone gets to speak, use the biggest platform available to you, and just be honest about what you think is agreeable or not.
When does the documentary drop and what is the name? Bravo to all these amazing women telling this story.
Malala won't say anything on the killing of thousands of women killed in Gaza, most of whom were educated .
Hamas and Taliban are cut from the same cloth. For years Gaza had the ability to choose peace and prosper instead the choose war and hatred . It's a injustice of ideology
