    I would like to politely acknowledge Ms Gayle King for orchestrating a insightful as well as emotionally dramatic imperson interview with Ms Jennifer Lawrence, Ms Sahri Mani, and Ms Malala Yousafzai producers of a new documentary "Bread & Rises". Ms King I absolutely were satisfied with the quality of questions you asked each individual and the amount of information you were able to obtain concerning the horrible experience women in Afghanistan experience. I totally applaud the unafraid bravery of each panelist especially Activist Malala Yousafzai. Ms Malala I strongly empathize with you concerning a vicious attempt to create your physical demise. I am honestly inspired by your courage to strive for equality against gender discrimination, lack of freedom for women to express themselves, and constant oppression in your native land. I always state every country has their own unique problems, whether the issue is based on religion, politics, or social class. However inspite of the ongoing turmoil women are facing in Afghanistan. I admire the inner strength each women inherit in order to present this particular documentary into public existence. Ms King I appreciate the fact that you share the information you received from each women to Nate and Tony. God bless all of you, my prayers are definitely with the people of Afghanistan. Happy holidays Ms King, Tony, and Nate.

    I know majority of Pakistanis already hate Malala for being a whistle blower when they are so keen on presenting a 'soft image' of Pakistan but I am incredibly proud of her for being so honest, open and brave. They have no idea what we endure.

    Having taught different students in different specialities, I have learned that the greatest thing any of us can achieve, is a wealth of empathy.
    I’m sure Jennifer Lawrence has always had it, to the N’th degree & is now showing it…
    I’m that respect - she is, in all likelihood, better educated than most on the Hill …

      find literacy programs and English classes in your area. There are Afghan women who never went to school and don't know how to read even in their first language. Teachers need classroom assistants and programs need tutors to help them with reading and writing.

    The video & photos of the protests give me chills because I have friends who shared videos with me of their participation, especially the demonstration they did in front of the Pakistan Embassy. Many women were beaten. Others were later arrested (I have a friend who was). Some did not survive. 😢

    I think Hollywood celebrities often overstep their boundaries, as we've seen lately. BUT if they are using their platform to bring awareness and to do good then I'm all for it.

    • @PurushaDesa
      @PurushaDesa Місяць тому

      That's a difficult one though because really what the boundaries end up being is, "I want you to speak up when I agree with you and I want you to just be an actor when I disagree with you." Truth is everyone loves celebrities in their corner and there's always a lot of hypocrisy about that. Classic example - a lot of the folk claiming to be tired of hearing from celebrities cheered on Clint Eastwood screaming at an empty chair at a political convention. I think the rule should just be everyone gets to speak, use the biggest platform available to you, and just be honest about what you think is agreeable or not.
