Another honest and comprehensive review. Not a fan of all the textured plastic cladding reminds me of their early 2000's offerings. If you're going to go iPad like dash (even the HVAC controls, annoying), at least improve/speed up the reaction times. I completely agree with the smudge/dirt magnet piano black plastic, its time has come and past looks good when untouched, but we're talking about a vehicle interior in areas frequently touched. Also engine is underpowered especially by today's standards. Manufacturer's have gotten even smarter with their "easter egg" including their emblem in the headlights. It prevents the use of aftermarket headlamps after a collision.

I don't know if you're still checking/replying to comments, but I was hoping you could expand on the lack of Semi-autonomous driving? I used to sell Kia's and the adaptive cruise control, lane keep/centering, and handling around curves, made me want to buy one, but I've always wanted a subaru. When you say that it was lacking, could you expand on that? 🙏

Thank you for your review of the '25 Forester Touring. An eye opener for me at least in that all the upgrades over the lower Limited and Sport trims don't justify shelling out over 40 grand. You're right that the Limited and and Sport Foresters look better that the Touring. As for the analog tach and speedometer, I difer with you as I prefer them over the digital display. It's disappointing to hear that the features on the infotaintment system are laggy. I happen to have the same infotaintment screen on my '24 Crosstreck and its feaures don't lag at all. I have the 2.5 litter 182 hp motor and is peppy. The Forester your review comes with a 180 hp engine which for a vehicle heavier than mine, it should have more horespower. In regard to its looks, it's reminicent of an Explorer/CRV. Good review.

I am in Alaska and I would be interested in some kind of heater info. How quickly does the car heat up from a certain temp. Likewise how fast does a car cool down with the air conditioning. I’ve never seen any kind of testing like that. Maybe it’s not possible…

They're pricing it like the higher trims of the Outback. The only thing is that the higher trims of the Outback get a turbo engine.

One feature I noticed you didn't discuss was the new back seat outside passenger reclining capability. Not perfect but now there.

I tried the screen and it wasn’t lagging at all. But I will test it again

HELP! Seat material (suede part) might be a dealbreaker on my touring purchase. I just saw it today on the car I have on hold. It looks like any wear and tear will show quickly. Real quickly.

No, but there is a button right on the Home Screen so you can disable it for the drive

You're crazy if you think people are gonna pay 42K and if they do. There's something wrong with them.

Bro, the upper-middle class in Colorado, Washington State and Oregon would pay $75k for this.

how smug dude. This is not a car for your age so get over the power... owners of this care are NOT looking to burn rubber as that was in our youth ... soooo review a different car!!!!! People buythis car for SAFTY and comfort not super performance. With heated steering wheel .... is the whole wheel heated? When in the auto drive mode where do you have to touch the steering wheel to keep the system working ... what about the secret code in the rear hatch door? Do you have to pay extra yearly for any features ... Is the remote start from phone have a price and does it require a renewal fee at some time .... Is there a hill hold feature and how does it work ... Sooo much more !

I'm looking for a safe slower car. That said, if I'm at an intersection and trying to determine if I can safely pull onto the road with on coming traffic at various car lengths away, I am curious on if I can do that or if I'd have to wait for a considerable amount of time for a huge opening.
I'm not trying to take it to the drag strip or anything, but I'd like to know if it has capable enough acceleration to merge into traffic.
I tried a new Jeep and at 4000+ rpm I could barely get to 30mph within nearly 10 seconds. My job requires me to travel, and while that lack of power would be fine in the back roads of the country, if I had to work in a big city, surely I'd be harassed by drivers behind me while waiting for a big enough gap for my vehicle to not have to red line it.
