I just came across your channel and your work is quite impressive. No other channels on youtube are doing on mechanisms extensively. You really should start making tutorials brother. I must tell you this if you make tutorials on the work all the mech students definitely gonna be your students including professors

what type of locking mechanism is used ? how does it stay in same state when some starts climbing ?

It is an interesting concept, but a manual one with a "smart" lock would make it more market-friendly. Not only the cost of the unit, but its installation and maintenance would be big disadvantages, as well as the lack of handrails. Safety First.

My thoughts exactly. Scissor mechanisms are nothing new. Show me the actuator and how the torque is transfereed. The top hinges are always the most stressed in applications like this and thus way more important to design correctly.

Smart Ideas This is not a stair.This is somethyng, like a stair.To put a foot you need about 30cm (1ft).Useful only 1/2 of pad.This means that the length (depth) of one pad is about 60 cm (standart kitchen table!).Try to draw the man for scale. P.S. Sorry for my english, i studied it at soviet school :)

This mechanic only fold only the first layer!! it's not possible to fold second, third, forth and so on layer! nice drawing but dynamic is not right

@@liefbrunhilda926 not so sure... a scissors lift works because it stays in a vertical column where the center of weight remains directly over the anchor points on the ground. There are no anchor points on this, it isn't strictly vertical and you'll be loading and compressing it on a net vector that approximates 45% several steps up... it'll sag, perhaps badly...
