I'm retiring in 3-5 years and will be moving to the country, I will set up my own forge, this video is awesome and a inspiration for others, your very skilled sir !
What an art! Man . . . you are a mesmerizer more than a blacksmith and a carpenter ! Silence as the background music. Perfect Bowie and a perfect video.
All the Blacksmithing videos I've seen and you're the first one to wear ear protection while working. True, others may have used the soft ones you put into your ears, but when you wear the headphone-style ones you let people see and learn how to do this stuff safely. Thank you for that.
The best compliment I can pay is that I wish this video was longer and the artist actually talks a bit about the knife being made. And I agree with the comments that this video was definitely a good investment of time to watch. Thank you for making this video.
I paid $200 each for a set of Damascus knives made by my friend D>R> Good. very good well known knife maker in Indiana. I'll take one for $100 Shane K !!!
A perfect knife. I love it. That will be a knife for a strong man. And the video is great: No words, no music, your hands are speaking ,that's the right way to show .
Wanted to push the like button 10 times 5 seconds in. What a fabulous artisan, knife, and video!! Glad I waited, it just got better and better. Fantastic effort, thank you for sharing and making me feel like a totally inept putz!!! Cheers.
Holy Moly you have an awesome shop/tools - your Bowie is terrific - You would be a ferocious competitor on the Forged-In-Fire competition show....thanks for sharing; Cheers!
When I saw the lathe bed grinder I thought it was a dream ware production. This is absolutely first class. Upper drawer Frank. i would use a diff blade in the jigsaw and there rest is so cutting edge... Thanks for sharing Freerk
I just find it so satisfying watching a blacksmith work away I love it and this guy is awesome, hey man if you're reading this you should be on Forged in Fire and I'd fully vote for you and anyone else like this comment if you'd vote for him 😁
I am in amazement at the time that is taken to add every detail needed. I am thoroughly impressed at the craftsmanship. I would love to be able to find one like this for my son.
OMG that is not a Bowie knife that's a machete. Beautiful piece man great work. I bought my son which is the NAVY buds training in California a graduation present which is a large Bowie knife that has a damascus blade. He is going to love it.
Freerk Wieringa there should be an adjustment on the side of the jigsaw which changes how aggressive the sweep of the blade is (forward- and back) you should experiment with this on different materials if it's having difficulty cutting, it makes a huge difference in how well the blade performs.
I'm shocked the UA-cam safety protestors didn't show up. Great work, I don't like to critique what works for some and strangely enough most of the ways you achieved your outcome I liked. I love watching videos like this as it is a treasure chest of ideas. It may not always be right by some or many but it is what works for the rest of us. For the like of me I can't see how even the few could dislike what one man does and liked it enough to share it. Good job and may you always find a little comfort in enjoying what you do.
no problem you are my idol. I even make also knives and large knives. but I still can't make swords because I'm only 15 years old and I've had no equipment and place for it. but great how you make that knives and swords and makes it look so easy.
No music. Just the sweet sounds of honest work, subscribed simply for that. Awesome video man keep it up!! 👍👍
I too appreciate that !
william johnson nope

ask my neighbors what they think of that sweet sound
You are an extremely talented artisan, and I enjoy watching your processes. Thank you
thanks for the complement!
Freerk Wieringa how long was the process ...I was so entertained ,great job
17 minutes and 46 seconds. :-D
Gabe Mesa .

Crocodile Dundee would say, Now THAT'S a knife." And it truly is. Great work.
stole my words :P ,,,,,, indeed a master piece
marjamada oh my god I was just thinking about that while watching the video. 😂
Love it. Great Job.
This is one of the most gorgeous utilitarian bowies I've ever seen.
thank you!
All the Blacksmithing videos I've seen and you're the first one to wear ear protection while working.
True, others may have used the soft ones you put into your ears, but when you wear the headphone-style ones you let people see and learn how to do this stuff safely. Thank you for that.
A beautiful piece of art. The way the light plays with the design is amazing. Using it to savage a stump is gotta feel good. Love it.
Sir, you have a magnificent chopper.
A true craftsman at work - excellent video.
I find this very relaxing. No music no talking
Yep, like Alec Steele, but for grownups.
exactly!
The best compliment I can pay is that I wish this video was longer and the artist actually talks a bit about the knife being made. And I agree with the comments that this video was definitely a good investment of time to watch.
Thank you for making this video.
This is why in old times men like him were thought of as wizards. That is one of the most wonderful knifes I have ever seen.
wonderful transformation from junk to a piece of art, a real artisan !!
thanks!
Finally someone knows how to use a surface grinder to grind in a fuller! You've got some sweet tools and know how to use them.
thanks!
How much would the knife be too sell it ?
It was 15 min of work. So maybe 50 Dollar.
Shane K - Idiots are everywhere. Let him go to Walmart, i think his born in Walmart too.
I paid $200 each for a set of Damascus knives made by my friend D>R> Good. very good well known knife maker in Indiana. I'll take one for $100 Shane K !!!

love this silent kind of videos
YEAH! like, finally some peace and quiet after those demn videos full of dupstep and cinematic music
Yes, another masterpice!
Personally i realy love the gunstock like finish on the handle and the shape of the blade.
thank you! i was aiming for a modern wild west look.
A knife that David Bowie himself would be proud to wield.
I like the usage of a surface grinder to grind the edge bevels flat instead of the more common hollow grind. Very nice. Thanks for posting.
Need to build an Arkansas toothpick to match. Your a real craftsman. Beautiful work!
Wanted to push the like button 10 times 5 seconds in. What a fabulous artisan, knife, and video!! Glad I waited, it just got better and better. Fantastic effort, thank you for sharing and making me feel like a totally inept putz!!! Cheers.

maybe if they go international.
Well if they do, you'll win for sure!
It will keel
Rick Rabjohn I was thinking the same thing
I watched an episode of that show and everyone was terrible and their knives sucked. OP could EASILY win a round if he signed up for it.
I watch this channel and Alec Steele both opposites ends of style but both extremely rewarding to watch.
When I saw the lathe bed grinder I thought it was a dream ware production.
This is absolutely first class. Upper drawer Frank.
i would use a diff blade in the jigsaw and there rest is so cutting edge... Thanks for sharing Freerk
i never use it. may band saw needed repairs and did not have time...
That's amazing. Thanks for sharing your work.
So proud to watch a true master take pride in his work
i have 3 words to describe guy VERY SKILLED CRAFTSMAN you can tell how good he is by his effortless motion and the pace he does it.
I just find it so satisfying watching a blacksmith work away I love it and this guy is awesome, hey man if you're reading this you should be on Forged in Fire and I'd fully vote for you and anyone else like this comment if you'd vote for him 😁
I was thinking Forged in Fire too, LOL
Go for it I'll VOTE 100% that ia artwork, I would like to get one, thank you for sharing
With the amount of meticulous care that has been put in, this must be a gift to a father in law or will be used to 'take care of the father in law
From a piece of old rusty steel to a shiny new deadly weapon. Good work man!
Ok...I want that Bowie!! This guy is truly an artist and craftsman..
All I can say is, WOW! Great to look at, and it appears to the perfect all-around tool.
REALLY,You make me happy, THANK YOU SO MUCH
your welcome!
You have some serious skills, Sir - Could not stop watching this vid, VERY enjoyable. No tuity fruity / head bangin music. Subscribed.
I can't draw a straight line with a ruler. This is fantastic work. Now I know why good knives are so expensive, but worth it.
That's what I call a fine craftsmanship. Real piece of art. Good job man.
Master piece Thank you for videos!
Very beautiful piece of handiwork.
Than was a work that not many of us can perform, thank you for sharing. I'll buy one for my father. Have a nice day.

Hi man, perfect job. Congratulations!!
Very nice! You really put that thing through the test chopping on the wood and metal then actually showing the results. Once again....very nice job

OMG that is not a Bowie knife that's a machete. Beautiful piece man great work. I bought my son which is the NAVY buds training in California a graduation present which is a large Bowie knife that has a damascus blade. He is going to love it.
One of the most beautiful knife I have ever seen
Beautiful work, you should pick up a more aggressive (low tpi) wood blade for your jigsaw, it will make light work of burl an won't burn.
Pete
good tip, i have some extra saws... it is a new machine for me, i am getting to know it it the work.
Freerk Wieringa there should be an adjustment on the side of the jigsaw which changes how aggressive the sweep of the blade is (forward- and back) you should experiment with this on different materials if it's having difficulty cutting, it makes a huge difference in how well the blade performs.
she is a beast, great job mate, though a large blade like that IMHO needs a lanyard, other than that a fantastic piece..
it feels secure. but good point.
Brilliant! Highly enjoyable video. Thanks for posting.
now this is I'd like to see every knife maker to test their knife at the end, brilliant master piece.
Crocodile Dundee would be proud of that knife.
Dundee would run from that knife lol
+Smokey Robinson you don't know what the bloody hell you're talkin bout mate
seems like someone is all upset
That's not a knife
Dundee would be proud? The god of war would be proud hehe. But he would need 2 of them bad boys to take on the underworld lol.
Very impressive work, and excellent video
The end is great, i love how calm you look slicing through metal with a knife you just put so much time into
I just realized I liked your video because it was just the sounds of you working...no bullshit music!

Amazing work! Thanks for sharing :)
That was a video well worth watching, honest work and a fine product, thank you.

That's not a noif....that's a cutlass!
That last step was just the right touch. Nice work.
I'm shocked the UA-cam safety protestors didn't show up. Great work, I don't like to critique what works for some and strangely enough most of the ways you achieved your outcome I liked.
