    All the Blacksmithing videos I've seen and you're the first one to wear ear protection while working.
    True, others may have used the soft ones you put into your ears, but when you wear the headphone-style ones you let people see and learn how to do this stuff safely. Thank you for that.

    The best compliment I can pay is that I wish this video was longer and the artist actually talks a bit about the knife being made. And I agree with the comments that this video was definitely a good investment of time to watch.

    I like the usage of a surface grinder to grind the edge bevels flat instead of the more common hollow grind. Very nice. Thanks for posting.

    When I saw the lathe bed grinder I thought it was a dream ware production.
    This is absolutely first class. Upper drawer Frank.
    i would use a diff blade in the jigsaw and there rest is so cutting edge... Thanks for sharing Freerk

    OMG that is not a Bowie knife that's a machete. Beautiful piece man great work. I bought my son which is the NAVY buds training in California a graduation present which is a large Bowie knife that has a damascus blade. He is going to love it.

    Beautiful work, you should pick up a more aggressive (low tpi) wood blade for your jigsaw, it will make light work of burl an won't burn.

      Freerk Wieringa there should be an adjustment on the side of the jigsaw which changes how aggressive the sweep of the blade is (forward- and back) you should experiment with this on different materials if it's having difficulty cutting, it makes a huge difference in how well the blade performs.

    I'm shocked the UA-cam safety protestors didn't show up. Great work, I don't like to critique what works for some and strangely enough most of the ways you achieved your outcome I liked. I love watching videos like this as it is a treasure chest of ideas. It may not always be right by some or many but it is what works for the rest of us. For the like of me I can't see how even the few could dislike what one man does and liked it enough to share it. Good job and may you always find a little comfort in enjoying what you do.

      no problem you are my idol. I even make also knives and large knives. but I still can't make swords because I'm only 15 years old and I've had no equipment and place for it. but great how you make that knives and swords and makes it look so easy.
