i must say this was the hardest enemy in the game, i remember just geting to him was hard and i lost most of my ammo. but fighting him i died numerous times the true trial and error that you wont find in most of today fps games. truly a gem among fps games
tbh once you figure out you can cheese him in that control room, it gets considerably easier. It is the hardest boss in the game out of other 2 that are quite easy to manage.
i remember the old trick on ubersoldat boss fight. as you move into the boss room, duck immediately after the cut scene. you will be able to snipe boss's head with your rifles with scope. the boss will not move from the place where he appears.
You don't really have to go through all of that, you can quite literally "blind" the uber soldier u move on just the right spot on the platform when u enter, then you can just plink away at his armor with the sten while he just stands there, it's some kinda flaw in the enemy logic
In my opinion they are easier because they don't have a tesla if I remember right and it really messes up your aim...also the area is small like you said and scientists and soldiers harass you when you take cover forcing you to go for more health and eventually exposing yourself to the super soldier, the arena is half the difficulty of the boss

i have such memories playing it with my sister around that time, maybe even earlier. even though she kinda lost her interest in the game for a very long time after her first encounter with a zombie, which snuck up to her and started hitting her with an axe, we both totally freaked out :D i remember it took me months to finish the game
