My sister, Kristin R. Hill, passed away on 7 Dec 2020 and before she died, she told us to play this song for her at her funeral. Such a loving song! She was one of your biggest fans, DMB!
DMB has a song for every milestone in my life. Fell in love with my high school sweetheart (now husband) to Crash, played Steady As We Go at our wedding, and this song came out when we had our baby girl. Feel it in my soul.
My baby girl too! Then he released Father & Son cover when my son was born. Last 25yrs, from high school & college to Iraq then family, good times & bad, DMB continues to b the soundtrack of my life.
Long time dmb fan here as well and i agree this one is something special. Although i must state my bias of having a child since the "sacred hits" (you know) lol
Went to see Dave and Tim in Mexico last week .3 nights 72 songs was the most amazing trip ever .when they played this my mind was flooded with thoughts of my wife and kids and all the sweet memories of being a new Dad .love this song so much.
I can't hear this without intense goosebumps and ugly crying! This is so beautiful and we need this message so badly! I don't think of just my children, but also my own coming of age, the duality of pain and triumph, peak and valley. It's just a masterpiece and I don't use that word unless it's accurate. It's accurate. The way this raises our eyes to the horizon, together, the music that reaches into you and touches the secret places where you hide & tells you it's safe to come out and dance.. in the rain, in the sun. Walking through life with DMB has enriched my life immeasurably. Love them!
Just saw DMB perform this song during their concert in Dallas this past Saturday. Hadn’t heard this song before as I mostly listen to the older DMB stuff from the first 7 albums. Immediately fell in love with this song. So beautiful.
I recall the morning, which was very early. In Tongi Hospital, Shanghai China. The doors opened and they introduced me to my girl. 9 years later. I'm back in Canada and reflecting on this experience. P.S. same day we as Canada won the gold medal in hockey. Ill never forget it.
DMB has a song that tells my every love, loss, sorrow, pain, happiness, joy and carries memories attached to it. This song came out the year my baby boy was born. I bawled the first time I heard it. I had chills and bawled again when my wish came true and they played it in Chicago last summer. This song is my song to my son. I love you Blake Andrew. 💙 My joy began the day you were born.
I am 29 but always in awe of the young people when I go to shows especially in the past 2 years... SPAC and CMAC are packed with under 25 year olds, and they know the words to songs, awesome to see... DMB is this sleeper band that doesn't seem to be as big as they really are cause the music press/media industry just doesn't really cover them too often anymore
s a b o t e u Я Its sad to see the little credit these days. I wish I could of appreciated them more 15 years ago but I guess 6 yrs old won't cut it lol. Still will always be one of my favorites. It's good to know I'm not the only one 😂
When me and my ex were expecting...we lost it and this song mad me incredibly sad...my fiance and I are 3 months away from my son being born and this song has a whole new meaning...thanks Dave
It's never going to be the original 5 again. It's never going to be the same sound either. I've come to terms with that. Let's appreciate what this band is still giving us. It's a new sound and a new direction. Still making beautiful music!
I gave birth to my oldest baby to this song. And then watched fireworks and held my new Joy alone and listened to it again. I love you my darling one. This will forever be our song. I’ve got so much to explain to you when you are old enough. But one thing you should never doubt is my love and faith and joy in being your mama.
My wife and I are both old school Dave fans. Recently been in our baby years having one that is 3 and another at 1. All we do is say we can’t “forget these days”. So much chaos and joy day to day lol. Heard this and now it’s our anthem to how we’re feeling. Dave never seems to fail. This song fell right “in the pocket” of our thoughts and feelings. Will be one of my new faves from now on. Thank you DMB... thank you.
I have six grandchildren. My daughter turned me on to this song. I was the first to touch the Miracle of Life with my son and my daughter as they slid from the womb of their mother. I cut their umbilical cords. I cried with joy. To witness the birth of your children is the greatest feeling you have in life. What a beautiful song. Not to mention I love Dave Matthews Band. Peace and love!
I remember the first time I heard Crash back in 1996 it was a Glorious decade for new music cool bands cool concerts, S@#&$ I'm 47 now, great song great band, thank you DMB for awesome years of happiness 🎵🎶🎵🎶
Through all these years, this band has helped me maintain an enduring faith in humanity and rocked my soul to peace in the darkest of hours.....Thank you sweet music men of DMB for the tunes that showed me the poetry in Being.
Heard this in concert in Vancouver and I almost cried so many emotions and memories of past people, Dave’s music has always moved me I will always love it, Thank you Dave.
DMB has been my Favorite band since they first came onto the scene, and I heard this song the DAY is dropped on May 10th 2018...my 51st Birthday! I lost my Mom to ALS in 2011 and I was thinking of her, especially on the day she brought me into this world.....and I hear THIS song!! Made me feel even More connected to her, on a day that I really needed it!! THANK YOU DAVE!! Such a beautiful song!!
There isn’t a song that touches my heart more...it brings me back to the days my sons were born. I can feel the emotions all over again of first meeting them. Love u Jay and Hunt...what a wonderful journey! Thank you Dave for the beautiful music! Saw this live in Pa and Ohio. So touching! See you tomorrow in NH!
Why has Dave Matthews Band grows on me little by little each year. This is unheard of being a metal head and remembering loathing the song Cras Into Me. Then I heard Gravedigger which led me to Some Devil and then If Only and oh what the hell.
It's funny that his music works that way. One song leads to another, and somewhere along the way you become a fan. I hope you've had the opportunity to see them live, because that's where the magic really is.
Same here. I bought crash when it came out. I had seen the videos to what would you say, ants marching and satellite and thought ok this band is pretty cool. I bought crash when it came out. When I heard two step I fell in love with the band. The DMB are members of my big three (bands that anything they but out I love.) My big 3 are METALLICA, SLIPKNOT and DMB.
I have been a huge fan since I was in High School 1998...Dave Matthews Band has been the #1 best musicians and group I have had the pleasure of learning to for over the past 20 years.
One of the most pivotal bands in my journey of music appreciation. What a great song. Love to see how they've evolved through the all the adversity they weathered and are still coming out with new, great music. What a testament to life. Keep on playing, Dave! We love you!
Pure genius...been a fan for 24 years and this band has never failed to amaze me...bravo gentlemen and God bless you for sharing your artistry with the world.

I usually love a Dave crowd, but West Palm Beach crowd kinda sucked to me. Too many stuck up people, it didn't feel like a Dave crowd. Great show, but I didn't make any new friends like I always do at Dave concerts.
This song moves me. I have smiled and cried when hearing this song depending on the day/mood. The lyrics, the meter, and the drumming all come together into musical masterpiece. Well done, Dave. Well done.
I truly love Dave and his exceptional band. The writing of words is great, but musically, it never disappoints, high level compositions that so many people can’t understand because they lack intelligence and honestly... a soul
Our baby came on January 10th Dave. We tried to push her out on the 9th so you would both have the same birthday. This song will be with me till death. We love you DMB!!!

I was afraid i might not like it..crazy how fear really is just so ...
Said the same thing. Not since Satellite have I loved a DM song like this.
The first year I saw him performed it (2016) I was coming back from the bathroom and it literally stopped me in my tracks

It's funny. I became a single dad when I first heard this song. Similar memories, different vibes
Why isnt this more popular?
This should have millions of views :(

This song is about how everyone starts life the same way but we change through pain and hardships
but... have you actually ever seen Samurai Cop?
@@Dmented29 is this referring to the movie? Yes I have seen and I stiil cant believe it.
He named it that because the movie was playing in the background when he wrote the song@@uh0oo
This goes out to all the parents! Enjoy the early years of your kids! The joy in life begins!❤️
Ahhhhhhh Dave .... quite possibly the greatest story teller ever ...🎶❤
This man is the best to ever do it. Simple as that.
True story
Not true
Good but sorry not near the best
You gotta realize this music was inspired so it wouldn’t be made without what’s been made to inspire it

It’s so easy to get lost in the melody and not even grasp the message of the lyrics. It’s such a beautiful mix of both. And it is just perfect for his voice. I was hesitant why it was the first song on the latest release but the more you listen to it especially after hearing it only live for years you understand why.
