I can understand why ppl feel wierd about the lens being longes at its widest end but if you think about it, especially for video it is a good thing.
Having the lens element go forward when wide allows more accesories to be mounted behind its FoV, while frot element moving forwards and backwards gives you more flexiblity in lens desig. Surelly for a matbox for instance, having the front lens being fixed is better than a moving one, but if you need a moving one to achieve weight and size, it's much better that the front element is further forward when widest than vice versa as modern 24-70 2.8 zooms.
to me as a nikon shooter going from g/e lens design that followed this to the more modern longest when, well, longest is a big downgrade to usability.

yes the opinion i've been looking for. thank you for sharing. Just wanna ask about tamron and Sony's native stabilisation, is it a serious issue for you or not? (regarding with Tamron 20-40mm)

Short and to the point - thank you. How is shooting on the ZV-E1 without an EVF in bright scenarios? How is the 40 end of the 20-40 when in Clear Image Zoom mode (60mm equivalent)? Does auto focus work in this mode?

Great video. Just ordered this lens from lensrentals. Can’t wait to use it. The 28-75 is on my radar too.

I'm the same way tbh the 20-40 is one of my most used lenses but also depends on what I'm going for. I have the tamron 70-180 f2.8 g2 lens for the longer side of portraits and I absolutely love the lens as my secondary for portraits. I also have the 150-500 which I use for wildlife. Not sure I really need another lens at this point as the 3 lenses encompass most of what I need. I could have gone the 35-150mm over the 70-180 but I need a push towards being more creative and having that 70 has made me use my feet a bit more.

Oh no, your minimalism, is expanding my maximalism--I might need to consider this 20-40! Also, I noticed you're also a Lego guy!?
    Great, non-review!

@@TSCameraGear ha ha! I have a proper addiction and the only way I can remedy it is by trying to be forthright, but it's a work in progress!

this lense stays 90% of the time on my zv-e1. I pair it with tamron 70-180.

Ya I have both of those lenses and the 150-500mm and it’s amazing. I could have gone with a 35-150 but in an accident I don’t want to be out 2 or 3 lenses cause I decided to buy just one.
