You have no idea how much i needed this breathing exercise thing. I do voice acting as a hobby and find myself straining and out of breath more often then not and it seems youtube equallizes breathing technique to singing only! I'm not a singer just an out of breath voice acting hobbiest damn it : l

Hi, 4 years ago, I had a brain stroke leading to complete paralysis and lose of speech. Over time, I have been able to recover. But, speech is still a problem. I tend to mix up the sequence of words and sometimes skip essential words leading to stammer. how can i overcome this problem? Thanks in advanced.

My concern/worry is sounding monotone. How do you practice all your techniques whilst maintaining your unique natural expression?

I talk too fast and a lot! It has served me well as far as job interviews go and it's perceived as confidence however in reality that's not the case at all, I'm full of uncomfortable nerve wracking adrenaline.... I'm a very nervous anxious person, and when I talk I speak too fast and I get breathless, I also get very lost and forget what I'm saying often repeating the same crap. I suffer with depression and anxiety badly now as a 40 year old and I feel persistently anxious and it's awful. I choose not to have conversations wherever possible using texting and email as preferred alternative options but when I do have to speak with any health professionals for example particularly mental health even they perceive my excessive talking as confidence and they point that out, saying well you're talking a lot now and that I have a lot to say 😂 but also I have that much going through my head and I think subconsciously I feel like I have to get it all out before I forget and usually I do forget hence being repetitive with what I say. Help? 😂 Please lol
Also listening is difficult for me, I'm thinking a lot so often don't hear a word of what's said likewise Reading... I can hear or read something for a minute yet haven't absorbed any of it. It's so hard and has made me more nervous. Lastly I got confused with the breathing exercises I couldn't even wrap my head around that 😔 and when I inhaled I was getting dizzy lol

@@artemismalos6574 really? It's become just a way of life for me but it's certainly not been easy and I've fallen many times along the way. Infact I would say the last decade I've all bug give up on life because it just got too hard. I lost all my strength and I have a nor 16 year old autistic and dydpraxic son who really needs me and a 10 year old adhd dyslexic girl and I can't pick myself off the floor many days and saying this I'm terrified of those reading it being able and rightly so to tell me to grow up and stop being so selfish and I want to desperately I just don't know how 😔😔😪

You are being too hard on yourself ..I think breathing techniques can really help you out .. inhale deeply but slowly for 4 seconds & exhale for next 20 seconds everytime you feel stressed .. you can experience your higher heart rate slow down & can feel your stress slowly reduce.. Also, i think you worry too much about other's perception of you , worried about being judged by your peers, boss, partner but the reality is that it's all made up in your head .. You are projecting too much negativity either due to stressful work environemnt , hectic schedule, performance parameters but stop to think everything you have achieve in your life & learn to give yourself some credit for all your achievements.

Great tips thanks Darren - My speech can be choppy and slushy plus I stammer on some trigger words, I think my breathing is so out of sync due to my hyper vigilance about speaking in general.

I love this video because i do talk fast! I also have a question : in your video on how to quit a lisp you mentioned exercises but with using the letter L instead of S. If i want to use S ( because i think it works better for me) is that ok? Or should i continue with L's?
