I think if I were you, I'd make a visit to slueth out what style & length rod they're currently using. Worst case scenario you purchase a similar rod to make your window bling. You could also make a date with them to make it together. In which, a cute coupon wrapped in tiny box with a sweet sari ribbon bow could be what they open on Christmas. If your local thrift stores are open, I'd also look there for a curtain rod or wooden dowel. That way you could dance in with it like I did. Haha wouldn't that be a fun way to give someone you love a pressie! And you sound like a pretty groovy person who could pull that off! Thank you for watching & commenting. Kk, I've got another thinker for ya! ... I've got oodles of clothes, and I'm planning on making OODLES of curtains.. I may have to ship them to the ppl purchasing at a later date. What should I do then? I don't think you'd be able to ship a curtain rod could you? Like, is there a way you could transfer them somehow.. Able to slip around a rod and able to slip off as One Whole Piece, and able to wash them too?? Wrap your sari ribbon on a thin rope as shown in the tutorial. Then you can ship it with no problem, bulk or extra expense. The recipient will transfer it to their own curtain rod. You can provide them the link to my video as a guide if needed. What a great idea you have to do this! *fist bump*

Hi, J B! This is a great question and one I did not address in the tutorial! Thank you for asking! I used one skein or bundle of sari ribbon. If you measure each length and don't trim them as I did, you will get more bang for your bling! One bundle is approximately 30 yards in length. Look for sales and other vendors on Etsy. I saw some for $5.99 a bundle! Here's a link. Of course, Darn Good Yarn is a reliable source with lots of choices, too.

This project is fun to make using torn fabric strips sewn together, too! I'm creating a stash of old clothing and bedding I no longer use to make another Boho style curtain.
