@@Anthonyc263 Agreed. It would be cool to see another Batmobile in a future Batman game with a bigger Gotham, where the car would be a little more justified for covering big distances. I'd like to see more chase gameplay with it, like that scene in The Batman from 2022 where he was chasing down Cobblepot. Maybe it could have less tank features and more things for chasing and disabling cars, like a harpoon and caltrops or other things I'm not creative enough to think of lol
2:41 Okay, going to vent. The Batmobile is fucking awesome!!! Is it a bit overkill with the challenges? Maybe, but I love the variety, and I love how the Batmobile handles. I wanted to drive it since I was 5. Before TAS came out I had Adam West and Burt Ward and that fucking sweet sexy Batmobile. Call it an obsession, but this game fulfills a lot of childhood fantasies of mine. Running around in the Adam West or Michael Keaton suit with the car in tow hasn't gotten old to me yet. I really don't see the issue. Am I nuts?
Disagree with a lot here, the issue with the batmobile is not that it is a tank, it’s the way it is used, the actual drone combat is easily the weakest gameplay aspect of the game and it takes up as much time in the game as typical fist fighting and predator gameplay. Fans were crying out for the batmobile to be playable but what we didn’t ask for was Stealth tank combat or Monotonous puzzles where you must use the batmobile.
Not to mention that Most of the bosses in this game require you to use the tank and there is not 1 good boss fight in the game. Also L on that Origins take, that game is so underrated, Probably has the best character writing out of the 4 games and has hands down, some of the best boss fights.
@@saggysamurai6254 These are totally fair takes. I didn't love the Batmobile implementation, but I didn't quite hate it either. If you play only the main campaign, I find it's a pill that's manageable to swallow, but if you play all of the side content it does get to be...a lot. 100% agree about Origins's boss battles, that's a point I plan to touch on if I do a video on it. You're also completely right about it being underrated, I love that game. I just personally wouldn't rank it above any of the other Arkham games, making it the "worst" of the Arkham games, big emphasis on those quotation marks. Honestly, someone could tell me any one of the Arkham games was their favorite, and as far as I'm concerned they'd be totally justified in their pick. They're all so good
After years of putting off The riddler boss fight, I finally collected all the trophies and fought him (granted it took me 2 months to find them all since I didn’t wanna use a guide) and I can say with confidence that I much rather have an overused tank than having to fight riddler ever again
I too have beaten him, not once but at least twice, and I can wholeheartedly agree that it is one of the most soul-crushing experiences I've ever had in a video game. The fight's fine, but collecting all the damn trophies is aneurysm-inducing ⚆_⚆
i loved every aspect of this game, from how fluid the combat has evolved, to the islands, and the batmobile when you 100% the game and get the choice of all the batmobiles, all around this game gives the player everything you need to become the batman to the fullest extent
@@LokiRagnarsson yeah i saw a bunch of “leaks” back in the day lol, but nothing ever came to fruition, and before the suicide squad game rocksteady wanted to make a justice league game but WB declined and instead opted for the suicide squad bc it was popular at the time 🙄

Agree with you on Origins. It's a damn solid game (Deathstroke's fight was awesome), but it seems pretty weak when compared the rest, especially -Aslume- Asylum. It's still Leagues better than That-Certain-Game-I'm-Not-Naming-Because-I-Refuse-To-Acknowledge-Its-Existance.
Absolutely, it's definitely an awesome game, it's just the others are even more so. But, now you've got me curious about this game you dare not mention ō.Ô
@@damnedlegionaire XD Kill the franchise. Unfortunately I think you might be right about that. God I can't even look at that game without getting mad ⚆‿⚆
@@sueflewelling3657 I think it works for those games, because in those games I'm just there for the fights, so it's nice that the story isn't getting in the way of that and the exploration and atmosphere, but that minimalistic approach to storytelling, with the story being drip fed through lore and item flavor text, etc, etc, can really only work for a handful of genres. as someone who has played these games for hundreds of hours, so much is missing in this comparison. Story is barely talked about (which goes to origins btw, city has a boring story built on plot twists), gameplay, knight is leagues above the rest but i would argue its not the most fun to play through, the batmobile really sours the gameplay for me, i just feel like turning off the game whenever i have to do a batmobile section. I can see why knight is someones favourite as it definitely is the best to play, but disregarding origins as the worst is just flat out nostalgia at best or ignorance at worst. Origins is an improvement over both previous games. Asylum is obviously the worst with the most primitive mechanics and city just isnt the masterpiece its hailed to be. my personal list would go something like 1. Origins 2. Knight 3. City 4. Asylum however this video is well put together.
Fair points! I could have touched a little more on story. I do like Knight's story a lot. It has this palpable sense of foreboding that's present from start to finish, and you can just tell from the get-go that things aren't going to end well. Totally understand about the Batmobile. It gets sour fast, and it unfortunately makes up a very large portion of the gameplay. It's easy to see why it would make someone wanna put the game down. Mind you, while Origins is at the bottom of my list, making it the, quote, "worst" of the Arkham games, I don't think it's a bad game by any means. I love Origins, and was very pleasantly surprised by it when I played because of how badly it was talked about before I got to it. It's cool to see people coming out to bat (no pun intended) for Origins. Despite where I put it on my list, it makes perfect sense that others put it at the top. It's really, really good!
For me, this wasn't a hard pick for the best Arkham game. But if people want me to do the other games, let me know!
I didn’t like the Batmobile. I mean i liked having it in the game, it was just used way too much.
Yeah they definitely could have eased up on the usage. When you 100% the game, it feels like it's a tank more often than it's a car
I liked how it played and how it feels when driving but yes it was overused
