Never heard of the goose, but I've watched Tom for a long time because he's been a great mixture of business and collector perspective that has provided tremendous value to the audience over the times and rapidly changing trends. Dude also brings the passion and energy for the comic industry every time which isn't common. Love how you brought the wholesome collector element in a wonderful looking setting. Killer books on the wall. Hope to see you continue to grow and produce great and valuable content.
Yeah, I really like Tom- YES he is a dealer, YES he has to make a living, but I never got the sense that Tom was trying to make this all about the money. He often talks about overpaying for books and warns against it, and the few times I bought a book from him, always felt like I was getting a pretty good deal.

Your absolutely right! I agree completely with your assessment brother. That stick goose cat simply sounded jealous as hell and whiney like a little girl that he exposed himself and his wife in the end.

I think the moment you stop enjoying the direction of the content you are creating you need to hit reset and think about why you started. Sticky goose made mistakes in calling people out on his videos. If he didnt like the situations he found himself in he should have just walked away. He brought the negativity to his own door! I have no sympathy for him

It;s a life lesson. You get back what you put in. Also don't step to a pro when you're an amateur. The problem with social media is it gives people this false sense of equality. It's not the great equalizer people think it is. A pro has dedicated their life to their passion. He made the mistake believing He was equal. I was told once there are levels to this shit and this was a lesson in that theory. Obviously by using that video you got views and it led me here. It's a tactic that only works once. Then the "show me" comes into play and reveals the truth. Many of the channels only have views by talking about this instead of just building your own audience on the strength of your content. My first reaction to Tom was who is this but I'm no hater. I do my research I listen to respond. I don't hear to talk back. That's the key to interviews and gaining knowledge and wisdom. Sticky reminds me of a lot of people trying to cry and hate thier way to the top but hard workers earned it and don't suffer fools. The scars are the tough skin that allows you to keep moving. You can't get around the 10K hours theory. You can learn everything in 4-5yrs and sound smart but when you match up with a well oiled engine you become a toy vs a performance vehicle. Good luck on your journey and remember it takes time. Easy come easy go. Put the time in and you can weather any storm.

Yea, you're absolutely right, Rob. Sticky seems to be carrying some frustration and has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. But at the end of the day, blaming influencers for his buying decisions doesn’t really hold up. Sure, they might hype things up, but the choices were still his. It’s understandable to feel a bit upset about overpaying, but he should appreciate that he’s got a solid collection now, even if the prices weren’t ideal. Collecting comics isn’t like investing in stocks or bonds where returns are guaranteed. It’s really about enjoying the stories and art-you live and you learn!
And honestly, this obsession with thinking the whole collection could fund retirement, as if it’s a 401k, is wild to me. He even made a video trying to push that idea, but comics aren’t a guaranteed retirement fund. They’re meant to be enjoyed. Moving forward, he should just focus on what comics are really all about-reading and appreciating them.

Yeah I agree, though, Im proud of my collection, I've certainly invested money in it, but thinking about the prices day to day will drive you crazy. If you're in it strictly for the investment, that's cool, but then you gotta take what comes with it.

Great video man, I'll subscribe!! As far as Tom and Sticky.. I was a sub for Sticky but then he started on a drama kick and was trying to be more of a comedy show. ..to the point it felt like he was just using comics and the comic community to push a stale comedy show hahahah
Preach brother! Sounds like he’s chasing the numbers, the subscribers, the likes, and that is a hollow endeavor. There is a hole in the middle of that “goal” cause you’re not working towards something authentic. Seems like his convo with Tom was a grievances convo to someone who put in the work and became successful. I didn’t get any of his points. Btw I’m a dealer & collector - you can walk and chew gum at the same time 😂 great video as always!

And to be honest I don't care about that, I started my channel because I wanted to talk and interact with like minded individuals about comics. I don't really have anyone in my family that I can talk to. I've made so many new friends from this channel and that has been the highlight of my channel. Like you I'm blessed that I have steady job and this is just an outlet for me to nerd out with other people. Love what you do, enjoy the hobby and the success will follow. Yet Comic Tom pointed out that Sticjky Goose's most viewed videos are actually non drama related. A lot of big comic book UA-camrs are NON drama related: The Comics Den, Lunch Money Comics, Near Mint Condition, Pops Comics they are all NON DRAMA. And they get more views than Stickky Goose or any other drama related comic book channels. So does drama sell Yes. BUT positive content SELLS way more.

Sticky is satirical. There is no actual tough guy. It’s 100% making fun of silly content/silly creators and causing “beef” drama for his channel. He uses his LCS experiences and online irritations to gaslight known channels. It’s niche content within a niche hobby, but it’s different and that’s how he grew his subs. The YT community is small though so this will be short lived and he’ll have to pivot.
I hope he continues to make content, and pivots to a place that makes him happy.

Poor Sticky Goose. He's so misguided. He was (is?) desperate for UA-cam fame - now. He was looking for a role to play and a niche to fill....and he figured that playing the "loveable community troll / villain" was that role. He figured taking lighthearted jabs at folks via roasts would get him attention - "negativity sells" as he said. Maybe it worked? In my view it wouldn't have been such a bad thing to do....the problem is he didn't earn that role. He tried to assume it for himself, and the community wasn't having it because it felt inauthentic. It felt like wrestling heel's gimmick. It was a ruse, which is ironic when he attacks CT about his authenticity. And picking a fight with Comic Tom was such a huge mistake. He brought a plastic spoon to a gun fight and utterly embarrassed himself and his wife. He needs to bail on UA-cam for a while and decide if he is in it for the clicks and fame, or if he actually cares about the hobby and community.

I think Goose can pivot right now, and if he is more authentic, I feel like the community will give him grace. We'll see
@@MarkmanComics As much as our society likes to tear people down, we also love a redemption story in its wake. So I think / hope you're right. I hope SG thinks long and hard about what he wants to do with UA-cam and what he wants to contribute to the hobby. If he comes at it with honesty and authenticity then I think he's got a good chance of fixing his reputation.

The problem with what Sticky Goose did was not being specific about Tom. Tom used to be like this and he used to tell people to buy hot books. He was also critical of CGC. What happened? He was called out and changed for the optics. He also realized he could get better grades if he used his clout to shill for CGC. He only praises them and when they get his books for grading, they shoot him 9.8’s, 9’9s and 10’s. Let’s be real.
im still new to the space, i wasnt aware tom had relationships with CGC like that. But the thing is just because tom is pushing CGC doesn't mean any of us have to deal with them. Me personally I was more of a CGC as opposed to CBCS guy, before i even knew who tom was
If Goose had ANY self-awareness after Tom destroyed him, (although, more than anything, Goose destroyed himself) he COULD have just said, "I'm going to stop being a drama queen wannabe grifter bully." --- Instead, he may be DONE, because he's not actually a comic nerd.
