I appreciate your honesty in these x books. I share similar sentiments with most books. It is really overwhelming I wish they kept it to maybe 4-6 solid X-men comics. Uncanny and Jean Grey are for sure my favorites. But yo I’m very grateful for your content thank you Rob. You have so much notoriety in hip hop and you still make time to share your thoughts on comics. It’s appreciated my guy.
“Feels a little more spry” 😂 I’m buying/reading the whole line at the moment too. Giving time for some of the stuff to develop further before I decide what to keep and what to drop. Agree that Uncanny is the best book of the bunch. Enjoyed the video. Keep it up.
@@djc41777 much respect for watching! Yeah 15 is just too much, feels like Marvel is trying to deliver some x men for every demographic. But i don’t know how much of it helps the overall story.
X-men is a different beast. I had the same issue in the 90s but only had enough money every month for around 6 books. So I pared it down to X-men, Uncanny and Wolverine allowing me to still buy Spiderman, Punisher and an Image book. But with major crossovers I would grab all pertinent issues to the main story. These days I just wait to see which stories were great over the year, go back and buy the trades.
Thanks for the insight. I’m for real getting into Marvel for the first time, about half way through Claremont’s run. Gonna fast track catching up with X-Men after. Any lesser known runs or arcs you think are must reads or personal favorites? Thanks Rob.
Claremont is a great place to start. I love Spider-Man Torment. It’s my favorite story. Days of Future’s Past in X-Men for sure. The frank miller daredevil run.
I share many of the same opinions and im really only following Uncanny at this point. overall this era feels like it's missing a central story driver to me so some of the books feel like the stories don't matter much
Yeah man, i really wanted to like em and believe this was all leading to something. Ima optimist by nature who felt Scarface when he said “I often wish that i could save everyone but ima dreamer” lol
I have all the issues and only have read all few. Put them down and now have to go back and begin again but can't seem to find if there is a proper reading order. Like read 1 of each and then the 2nd of each or read all of one title and move on to the next. Not sure how to approach it or if it even matters
Doesn’t feel like it matters right now. I’ve just been reading in the order they drop but X Men and Uncanny seem to be the only ones that kinda connect. Rogue talks to cyclops sometimes. Other than that it doesn’t feel important to establish a reading order one way or another
I have quite literally never been able to jump onto X-Men ongoings. I tried with the Bendis era, and this new era (I was just out of college when Hickman took over and had no money). I find Marvel either overloads their X-Men offerings, or they have some event happen that makes it so I can't just stick with 1-2 books I really love. Then, if I'm not reading the X-event and the tie ins, I'm left out of the loop on some key events that kills my momentum with my favorites. It doesn't make me read more, it just makes me drop my X-titles and stick with the other books I was following.
@MarkmanComics For sure. It's really too bad because it's a corner of comics I'd love to explore more, but they kinda make it harder than it needs to be.
As somebody who would absolutely be getting the new Laura Kinney and Magik books if I wasn't already getting like 5 X books not even including Ultimate? Yes, very
Yes there's too much and i'm fucking tired of it. I hate how they just stop Eternals comic book. Where are they now? Who cares right? Here's an X Men, Spider Man and Venom book. I swear X Men, Spider people, Symbiotes, Wolverine, Deadpool are the bane of my existence right now It's painful for Marvel fans who demand variety. Now? Everyone is a mutant, Spider people or having a fucking symbiotes. I'm sick of this shit Sorry for ranting
Can only speak for myself of course, but one of the things you said about it as a negative, is one of the main reasons I like it. The self contained, simple, “monster of the week”, stories are enjoyable to me. Most of what I’m reading or watching these days has these long, multithread, plot arcs that weave in and out of each other and go on forever. And that’s fine. But I also like having these simple stories I can just pick up and read that don’t seem dependent on following a bunch of other stuff. Like how you could watch a random episode of Star Trek and not be lost, just enjoy a little adventure. Like comfort food.
@@MarkmanComics I like that it is an enclosed story and will pay off later. I love that Betsy is back and on an X-Men team. I love they are expanding Forge's powers. And I like how the team is coming together so far.
What’s the difference between watching several series at Disney+ each week and reading several comics (printed or online) each month or each whatever the routine is?
There isn’t more than one Disney + show running at a time is one major difference. Imagine 15 shows running currently, that’ll be a lot to keep up with.

Peace Los... Thank you for supporting the channel. And yeah that Phoenix book has been a pleasant surprise so far.

I’m not sure if spry was the right word but it felt right at the time. Lol
New issue of uncanny this week was dope!!
Thank you for sharing
"It's a lot! "💯 I'm having trouble keeping up with the main 3.
I wouldn’t mind if the books were all top notch. But some of em, I just can’t see the purpose in.
Much respect for putting in the time and money to give some insight on this. 15 series is an undertaking when FOMO is a thing

Yeah. In this case the TPB makes all the sense. 😫

Aye man, vent. Let it out!!!! Yeah. There’s a spider overload too
X-men- uxm -and -xforce sentinels..
Sentinels was surprisingly good in that first issue
No. The same as there isn't too many Batman over at DC. Read/buy what you want and like, ignore EVERY thing else.
I guess that is the solution
There’s too much for me, I’m just going to read them on unlimited as they come out but too much to pick up monthly
Feel you!!!
If you had to recommend a comic series for a beginner that is really good which would you?
@@bozosworld5806 Absolute Batman is a really good place to start.
I would recommend 'original sin' story from 2014.
I love X-Force, but X-Factor is not good
I really tried with X Force, what’s the thing that you love about it? I’m curious. I really wanted to like it
