It was rev'ed about 3/4 minutes after startup, where it has passed the 'cold' thresh mark, but wasn't at fully optimal temps. If it was fully cold the car doesn't really let you rev to redline even if you floor the gas.
@@jLu624 If the temp gauge passed the cold thresh mark, then it's definitely not as bad. Where I live, even during the summer, it takes way longer than 3-4 minutes (even when driving) for the temp gauge to move at all :)

Also use FCPEuro for their lifetime warranty on parts and you’ll see it’s actually not expensive to maintain these beautiful BMW 6 inline engines. As they are substantially more reliable than any 50i designations and much more powerful than any 30i designations.

I think they both sound very good! I have the MPE on an F15 X5 35i also with a VRSF charge pipe, everything else is stock and it sounds closely similar to the M340i stock exhaust.

I could not order here in CA a because of the shortage there were no allocations unless I waited 12 months, I do not have the Bang and olufson sound, or the laser lights which I was a bit bummed out about but otherwise I love the car. Tried Audi S5 coupe and the Mercedes’ AMG 43 and this one to me beat them both with performance and interior quality. Audi I can say definitely looks better on the exterior but is WAY less of a drive than this car. (Coming from BMW M2 OG)
I was on the same boat as you, but ended up going with the m340i due to it's daily capabilities. Even though faster, the f80 was a bit too firm for me for every day driving. Imo the b58 sounds better too, plus you get the new tech that comes with g20s.
@@jLu624 Def would get the m340i. I would say that in 75% of situations, you would want the well rounded aspect of the m340i vs the m3. In only 25% of the cases you would want the m3 such as when there are other BMW fanboys around, you're trying to pull at 50+ mph on the highway, or when you're on the track. If you want the extra speed and sound, you can always tune your m340i.
You will need to get an ecu tune for the burbles and transmission tune like xhp for the upshift sounds. Unfortunately for the 2021+ models, the ecu has to be shipped out to femto in Europe…
Would you say the MPE makes the car louder at all times, I actually want it to be. And you said the pops and bangs are more frequent and louder as well, I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth it. Stock sounds good but this might be worth the money for the extra sound
When you're cruising low revs in comfort, I would say it's almost as quiet as stock. When you gas it from a stand still, you can definitely hear the difference on all driving modes. I wouldn't consider it as being "loud" at all times, but it's certainly a lot louder when you want it to be. On sport plus it's a different animal, on comfort it's tamed but still louder. It's perfect if you want to keep it under warranty without going 3rd party.

It still has valves that open and close in stock form when you switch modes. MPE makes it 1000 times better though.

Yes it does. It’s just louder in all modes unless you are idling in park after car warms up. Then it closes them if you are sitting in park.

Unfortunately with the 2021 tune cutting out the burbles and pops. The sounds difference on the 21 with MPE isn’t as intense.
