CSX New England Division Action from 5/16/2024 to 5/31/2024 (Feat. CSXT 1973)

  • A busy few weeks railfanning the Waterville Subdivision and Portland Subdivision in central and southern Maine.
    (Note on the very first clip; the date should be 5/16/2024 and NOT 5/19/2024)
    Trains Seen:
    - L071 with MEC 7605 - CSXT 8833 crossing from Benton, ME into Fairfield, ME over the Kennebec River on 5/16/2024
    - Waterville Yard overview on 5/16/2024
    - L070 with CSXT 8009 - MEC 7620 between Belgrade, ME and Monmouth, ME on 5/16/2024
    - Y200 crew uses M427's power set to switch around Rigby for a little bit, then M427 with CSXT 478 - CSXT 464 - CSXT 1973 is seen rolling west through the Scarborough marsh just before dusk. This is the virst visit from the Chessie System heritage unit to reach Maine.
    - L072 (running late with the following day's L060 crew and four axle power leading) with MEC 514 - MEC 517 - CSXT 8009 - CSXT 1727 rolls westbound through School St. in Veazie, ME at the MP WAT-54.20 detector on 5/21/2024
    - L071 with MEC 514 - CSXT 8833 - CSXT 1727 is seen at Newport, ME and Pittsfield, ME later that evening on 5/21/2024
    - L052 with MEC 516 - MEC 5976 is seen from the sky passing over the Dead River in North Leeds, ME then past Barker's farm. Lastly, they are seen in photos in Jay and parked at Riley's on 5/26/2024
    - M427 with CSXT 476 - CSXT 5474 - CSXT 488 - CSXT 478 - CSXT 464 passes through Cook's Crossing and Winnock's Neck Rd. in Scarborough, ME on 5/28/2024. They had not run an M427 the previous night resulting in more than usual locomotives.
    - L080 with CSXT 479 - MEC 505 follows close behind M427 at Winnock's Neck Rd. in Scarborough, ME on 5/28/2024
    - M427 with CSXT 464 - CSXT 5104 - CSXT 5284 is seen prepearing to depart Rigby Yard while Y200 CSXT 2561 - CSXT 6229 switches out cars in the yard on 5/31/2024
    - L080 with MEC 505 - CSXT 479 heads east through Saco, ME on 5/31/2024
    - M427 with CSXT 464 - CSXT 5104 - CSXT 5284 passes westbound through Saco, ME with a big train.

    Are those GP40-2LW's making it out onto the rest of CSX or are they mostly staying in ex Pan Am rails?
