I have had conversations with Blowfly girl over email two times. Her name is Deborah. I first emailed her in 2020 and asked how she was doing, to which she told me she was working on a book and taking care of her mother during the pandemic. the second time was a few months ago... March i think? I asked how she was again and asked if she was going to post on the blog again, and if she ll working at the law firm. She told me that publishing books was taking longer than she anticipated, shes doing well and doesnt think she will ever post on the blog again. She left the law firm a long time ago and writes commercials and articles now. Just for those who wanted to know. Shes very kind

Essentially her mum found her and was scared, asked if someone else had done it to her. Blowfly girl says no, she did it to herself, and her mum is relieved. They decided not to tell her father. Her & her mother shared a bonding(?) moment together and she told her everything- saying there is no secrets between them anymore. Her mother says that she understands, which leaves Blowfly girl curious about what her mother means by that.
TL:DR; her mother was the one who found her and called 911, and they decided not to tell the father. hope this made sense!

Weirdly enough, the one part I can't get past is her being able to violently throw up outside the dumpster without expelling all her little buddies. As anyone who experiences periods can verify, doubling up your undies and adding pads ain't gonna keep all that in place under extreme pressure.
Even though I have not had any periods ever due to incurable medical issues, 20 years of being a human who gets sick at times (as we all do) has given me enough experience to know how my whole body reacts to throwing up. I have no idea how her lower muscles where able to hold anything in during that.

I thought *I* had low self-esteem. As a girl who was physically and emotionally abused by my father, no friends in school, wasn’t kissed until I was 18 years old and out of high school, and a plethora of other hang ups, I can say that your self-esteem can spill over into your sexual preferences. I like to be dominated, at times violently, but MY GOD. I just feel terrible for this girl. I hope she’s doing better and has gained some emotional stability. I would bet money it's real, I have talked to people I met online in to really gross shit. Maybe not the caliber of blowfly girl, but in the "gross F'ed up" zone. One that comes to mind was a chick I talked to who got horny from not taking off her pants (and put a big emphasis on jeans being the best), like I mean not taking them off _at all_ so she would sleep, shower, shit, piss, etc. in them. going through the comments from people who have emailed her, it sounds like she's much better, i hope she still is. this story is gross but more than that, it's incredibly sad. I've had my own long and ardous battle with depression and self-loatheing, and while I've never attempted anything even close to what she did, there was also a point in life where i stopped caring for my safety. no one deserves getting to that point. it's bottom of the barrel low. it's nice to hear she seems to have regained concern for her own safety and is in fact gone on to write, she's very talented! i hope she's found a strong support system to keep her on-track, maybe even finds a partner who understands her struggles without encouraging to self-destruct again. I'm kinda interested whatever happened with her career on costume design, but most of all i wish her health, both mentally and physical. hopefully if we hear from her again it's to hear more mundane news, this is one of the few cases where hearing someone is living a perfectly ordinary life actually fills me with so much hope and warmth.
I remember the first time I heard that story. I lived in the Chicago suburbs, and I was like, oh wow. She's driving on that highway I always go on when I visit relatives in Milwaukee. And then I was like, oh wow. I go to the fox valley mall. And then I was like, oh hey, I ate there for my graduation. (It was years later tho) it's still there it's called Basil's. And it's pretty good.

For context on my opinion on this, I’m going to school to earn a Master’s degree in counseling psychology with a minor in forensic studies. I’ve seen a lot of horror stories over the years, mainly from my own classes, but I’ve learned to hold back my revulsion for these things so I can try to analyze the minds behind such horrors. It’s always important to remember that individuals like the eponymous Blowfly Girl are human beings and that anyone, under the right (rather unfortunate) circumstances can be capable of what she did. It is truly fascinating how paraphilias develop and it’s a topic that isn’t well understood in psychology yet. The fact that she engaged in so much metacognition (analyzing one’s own thoughts), found stability herself through writing, and documented her experiences so thoroughly makes her a useful case study for how this perversion develops. She would certainly be an interesting subject for a paper. Thank you for sharing this story!

I think it's wrong to say that anyone can be put in a situation that would cause them to do this. many people can, but to say anyone can is not something we could know.
I didn't think it was possible to feel close to vomiting just by reading something but hey, you learn something new everyday.
The way she talks about her father's obsession of having her on depression pills hits too close to home. Also, just how she talks about her father and her father merely just helping her father's friend's business more than helping her concerning the law job. There's no way she is not an abused victim as many of them gravitate towards bizarre, disgusting and sometimes dangerous fetishes.
Hopefully she realizes this. Some people are blessed to realize it's not them it's their parents at the age of 18 and can get away and cut their abusive figures out of their life, while others unfortunately realize this at the age of 40 or older.
This story made me extremely sad more than anything.

I can't praise this story without feeling like a creep, but it is incredibly brutal and visceral. The way it's written and narrated invokes grotesque mental images.
I feel so sorry for her. This is kind of a case study of how there are things that really can change a person for life. I hope she gets help eventually to cope with the things that she’s done; it sounds like she has (had) an impulse control and thought suppression disorder that led her to do some things that she wasn’t able to process on her own, which is understandable because hell - it’s traumatic to even read. I wish her family had been more aggressive about getting her help when this all first came to light. 😕
