Dom you’re a legend. This video is amazing, I wish something like that was around when I first started getting into all this. Also love the reddit shoutout - Reddit legends unite! ✊
One problem I have noticed with Star Atlas. Many of the ships aren’t selling. What if nobody purchases those ships? Will they just not have those ships in game? Seems like a big problem if nobody buys ships they put on the market.
I’ll have to wait and see how they are going to do crafting then. Currently all I see is a game that is run by bots trading NFT and players who have lost thousands purchasing ships and many ships that just aren’t even selling.
I see a lot of Star Citizen in this… as in paste and copy tactics… the hanger see ships you’ve bought walk around in them etc that’s kinda how SC started… just 100x better No idea why I’d play this or put money into this over SC which is much much much further into its development.
Because this will run much better than Star Citizen which has been a buggy mess since inception trying to build their own engine. They are also focusing on core gameplay mechanics and not trying to reinvent the wheel where it's not needed. The fact that you own your assets and that the ships are available on free market is just the cherry on top.
@Winston Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, Idk Star Citizen runs very well for me I've never had any issues besides the normal bugs for an *Alpha State Game* People are hype for this game that's literally rewording the same things SC has said but yet SC has put down what's om paper to screen so far this game is coming out as a Copy 50/50 building off what SC has promised yeah SC might be ambitious and been in development longer then some people have been alive lol... but I'd ve willing to bet my life's savings this game won't launch before SC... as a full playable game... with Minor bugs. Star Atlas is being just as ambitious as SC and I forsee it just coping most of what SC has done. That or just never even coming to... but regardless SC has my support and Love idc if this game does happen to come out I'm 2082 I'm all about SC 😆
@Winston yet to be seen. As of right now star atles runs terrible and has nothing in it. Got to start somewhere. But let's not say what it will be just yet. You got about 10 years before you can really start to see the game out come and stability
@@Winston_SA My point of view as a hardcore gamer for more than 20 years: Comparing SA with SC is comparing what is not comparable they don't have the same standards. It's been 25 years since we've owned any assets in an MMO, in my experience that's not a strong argument to attract a player and we dont give a shit, not by complicated manipulation that forces you to watch your Crypto wallet which is equivalent to real money against potential scammers who spam their phishing for the uninitiated. What is anxiety and it is not the purpose to sit in front of a game and have in a corner of the head the fact of worrying about his money, a good game it starts with a fun gameplay, wishing that Sperasoft, Automata S.A. tend towards that not too late, otherwise they will have only afficionados of crypto and not gamers for their game
So basically a more EXPENSIVE and less developed Star Citizen with Crypto NFTs.... No thank you! Imagine the hackers trying to get these NFTs! Hell I can't even go a day playing modern warfare with some dude cheating in a game developed by a company who's net worth is 60 billion.
correction a version of Star Citizen where you might buy your ship at $100 then a week later it might be worth $1. At least Star Citizen ship values stay steady or go up after time.
@@Winston_SA when I read the official discord and the French text chat # link-tutorial: the first impression we get from it, which is sadly a reality, is that once we want to make a transaction that necessarily goes through the crypto system gravitates an incessant category of pests, for the customers of SA, which are the scammers and their bots.
It is notable that you spend so much time talking about money and so little about gameplay. At bare minimum all that stuff is just a barrier to entry that many will balk at, quite apart from the fact that the proposition makes no sense. It's the same with all these scams, it is quite clear that the financial side is a much greater priority than the game side, the agenda is blatantly obvious.
I talk about creating a wallet, funding it and purchasing a ship because that tends to be the biggest pain point when people are interested in getting into Star Atlas. By no means is that meant to be the focus but it tends to be the biggest hurdle when getting started. A fun and engaging game will always be priority #1. Thanks for the comment!
@@DominicVain Right, but my point is that this is always going to be the case; it's inherently more complicated than just buying something on Steam and clicking download. I mean your proposition is here is basically "Elite:Dangerouis with extra steps". That doesn't seem like a strong offer to me.
Lmao you own your stuff. Until the game fails and the server shuts down. Just like another online game. I'm all for competition with star citizen lord knows we need it. Letting everyone know now your in for a very long haul
I mean if someone wants to burn their money on a sink hole power to them. Would be cool to see Star Atlas work but so far it’s a massive waste of money and people have already lost thousands on it AND many of the ships aren’t even selling….
another great video Dom. One thing is always missing in the crypto space is education. a LOT of people stay away from crypto in general because they don't understand it.
I would be worried to have a game developped by ppls that dont know whats is actually developped in gaming. The most ambitious game.... well If you take in count that star atlas copied almost every star citizen made and trafer it to crypto.. for one its not very original.. and 2 well star Citizen as a game will always be 11 years in advance on Star atlas.. Basically star atlas in 2023 is at the same point star Citizen was in end of 2014..... Not saying iw ill not be a good game, but if you think its the only fully immersive universe your wrong. star citizen already have a full star systems with many planets and moons, no loading, high fidelity detailed graphics, many cities, many fully detailed ships with inteirors ( Actually Star atlas hired many many concept artist that created the ship concept for CIG, the company behind Star citizen specially ebcause star citizen had the best spaceship ever mad ein gaming. already have racin in Star citizen, fps combat, dog fighting, cargo, salvaging... but its not in crypto.... But i can say something as a real gamer, no one cares about crypto in gaming and if you are interested in a game by the potential of making money.. well your dreaming... you will never make money in star atlas if dont dont invest a lot and a lot of money in it... a guy that put 100 buck in star atlas will never get much money from his investement.....I even Remember an interview with the CEO of star atlas saying he vaguely heared about a game calle dstar Citizen but not not knowledge about it AHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Not saying Star Citizen is all praise either... they are a wierd company too... but at least if you want to play what star atlas will be in 6-7 years go play star citizne. instead you will already have the experience and they too continue to develop the game until its becoming a fully fledge immersive universe.... Personally i will never put a dime in star atlas because the lack of originality in their project. Still wish you luck for the decades of developpement ahead of you guys hope it turn into a great game but i never understood the concept of just stealing an idea and remaking it plus the fact that the other have a decade of advance on you.
Comparing SA with SC is comparing what is not comparable they don't have the same standards. Ahhh... the game that could have been awesome if they went with a more traditional finance model. It's sad seeing them try their hardest at the very end
