- I received this van as a loaner from Johnson Dodge in budlake New Jersey. As you will be able to tell from the video I have never done a review of a vehicle before. I would like to ask everyone that’s interested in the van to please cut me some slack on the quality of the video. Even the frog in my throat was not cooperating. I only had the van for a few more hours before having to return it. This was a last-minute decision to show anyone interested in a van that this is a is a compelling alternative to an expensive Siena or Odyssey!
I was so impressed with this minivan I felt compelled to tell people about it. It is such an intelligently well-thought-out package at an extremely competitive price that I wanted to do the video.
Gone are the days of the clunky rattling minivans. After owning a sienna and a Highlander I could tell you that this on a budget is a much more compelling package. It is huge value for your money as I will attempt to show you in the following video. Please I’ve only done this one video so don’t tear me up for it. I apologize that my video somehow was cut off, I considered deleting it and redoing this entire video but I had no time as the vehicle had to get back to the dealership. I hope you may have found this video informative enough where are you would give the Chrysler Voyager a well deserved spot on your shopping list while for minivans.
Instead of buying a used Honda Odyssey that may or may not have transmission, or a used Toyota Sienna you can buy a brand new Chrysler voyager with a solid warranty! I think anyone looking will be pleasantly surprised! After all the folks that invented the minivan still have plenty of tricks up their sleeve to give you the biggest bang for the buck and a rock solid alternative to imports!

It was a last minute review done on my iPhone. The van was returned immediately after the video. I posted it after I got my car back. Thank you for your encouraging words. The next one will be much more thought out and polished, promise.

I bought this car yesterday so far so good my inside is all black n leather seats n there two chairs separated so there a walk through to the back row which is three seats n I can start my car before I get in there and my kids doors does open up by it self

I’ve never done a review before as you might be able to tell. I appreciate the compliment and I I think I would like to try and start doing reviews.
I know cars mechanically very well after being in the business for over 30 years. But as far as a format goes I had my phone with me I had this brand new loaner vehicle which I was impressed with and just wanted the world to know that the Chrysler Voyager has everything you need and nothing you don’t.
Of course this video would be much more polished how do I thought it out prior to doing it.
I’ve seen these vans for less than 25K with extremely low mileage like this one. For the quality stability and overall utility that is a screaming deal... Plus the gas mileage on the highway was extremely impressive .
I rented one of these back in June for about two weeks and it is the most comfortable and practical vehicle that I could remember driving. However, the rental car I've got is missing LKA+LFA, adaptive cruise control, and other safety technologies. it would have been super relaxing to drive if it has those driving assists techs. Also, now that gasoline prices are approaching $5/gallon this is not financially smart at our income level.
I'm a little late but I love the video and I've a question. Has the van been treated or was there an option for the salt belt area that would add additional protection to the van?
All of those vans these days are treated from the factory to be as impervious to rust as they can be within reason.
They start off with galvanize steel then they are dipped in an etching primer and all the seams are sealed by robots with Precision to keep the salt out.
By comparison to prior generations there hasn’t been any rust issues on the early Pacifica’s with very high mileage that I’ve seen. The Chrysler Voyager is a deep contented Pacifica. They still give you everything you need and nothing you don’t. By 2010 standards this would be a fully loaded vehicle!
So what’s the difference between this and a Pacifica

Reliability for the Pacifica has been pretty fair. Mechanically, they are identical, no different. The Pacifica has aluminum wheels the voyager has steel wheels with hubcaps. Unless you look closely, no one’s going to notice. The major mechanical bits are interchangeable. I want to dodge magnum for 14 years and with putting maintenance schedule in half for example, all fluid changes from engine transmission, power steering wheel differential, etc. doing those twice as often made my car as reliable as a Camry. These Chrysler voyager‘s are much newer, and may not require so much maintenance.
How quiet is it? One of the issue of the previous generations I have seen is cabin noise.
It’s the quietest minivan yet.
After 49000 miles the alternator was gone.$600 just replacement

If they’re paying fast food workers $15-$20 an hour can you imagine what qualified technician is demanding these days?
If it got better MPG, would be under serious consideration. L or LX?
MPG per Square foot is not bad when you think of it.

Can I ask how many miles is on the van at the time of the video?
I’m sorry for the very late reply but because the vehicle is a loaner I guess it never stops. I believe that was just under 40,000 miles on the van and it was less than a year old.
And you can bet your bottom dollar those are very hard miles. The van was holding up fine although I did notice the tires were replaced at one point.
The shift knob gets stuck in park it took about 45mins ignition off for it gears to engage i dont recommend this vehicle to anyone
After checking on that I found there is it a TSB that will hopefully alleviate that problem all together.
I had the voyager for almost 2 weeks. I did not experience the problem. I was a little rough on the shifter to see if I could make it mess up, but it didn’t
Plymouth 1985 is the worse balance at high speed you feel like it can flip or swing
Drive one of these New voyagers at 85 or 90 miles an hour on a highway with some curves. You will be highly impressed.
Where’s the spare tire?
The spare will be in there with a brand new tire!
How reliable is the powertrain?
The powertrain has come along way.
The first year or so the 3.6 L V6 had problems with bad valve springs. Since then Consumer Reports rated very highly. The transmission with proper service has also proven to be reliable with high mileage fleet applications.
Wait isn’t this the Chrysler Pacifica?
It’s basically a budget Pacifica. Kinda the same concept as the Dodge Grand Caravan
This is the Chrysler voyager, it is a Pacifica with less standard features.
Basically it means it has everything you absolutely need and nothing you don’t.
It has a much lower standard features list. Some might say less things to break.
Still a Chrysler but, it uses the resurrected voyager name from Plymouth.
The stereo in these is not good. It sucks. A lot of cars have bad stereos. My car had a bad stereo.
digital transmission not last long
It’s not so much of a digital transmission S solenoids that stick. It’s still shifted mechanically just now with an electric solenoid. I prefer the old mechanical linkage myself.

Pretty close to a potato, an apple. It was only an apple X at the time.. I have since upgraded to 14.
