Great video! G1 Actionmaster Devastator is one of the few G1 figures from my childhood that I have that is still complete with all of his accessories. I wasn’t super-excited about buying him, but Hasbro’s offerings were quite limited at the time.
I had several Action Masters when I was a kid. It was the only way I could get GI characters like Bumblebee and Shockwave. My favorites were Jazz with a skateboard and Prowl who came with a sweet transforming motorcycle.
This was the only action master I ever had but I loved it (was usually squaring off with a similar sized Godzilla or Voltron lol) Thank You for the trip down memory lane brother!
Love the Actionmasters. I really liked the newer colour schemes they gave Shockwave, Prime and Jazz. Kick Off won me over with his cool look and tech specs portrayal as a vengeful ex-gladiator. Great review as always. I've seen concept art for Actionmasters Ultra Magnus, Superion and Predaking.
I think Action Masters might have worked better if they came out alongside the normal transforming figures. They don't have the appeal to be the primary yearly line
That was a really cool review, as I have never seen an action master before, it's my first time. It looks ok, kinda odd of course for G1, but it was the era. Very interesting, and I can see why Beast Wars saved the franchise afterwards. Great review!
The Action Masters get a bad rap, and admittedly Devastator is an odd choice, but some of the classic characters finally look closer to their comic/cartoon selves.
Ever sense I learned about the Action Masters I really loved them and if I had more space I'd break my rule of not getting toys older then me for them. Putting Devastator in the line was a good idea because he's just a good looking bot and more fun then one of the six Constructicons would have been and he really makes you wish the Superion with the motorcycle from the concept art of cancelled Action Masters had actually come out.
It's loosely based on Bruticus. It doesn't have the obvious component pieces, like Devastator and it's pink and purple and goes by the name Turbomaster. Bizarrely, it also transforms (barely).
That PVC devastator is from the Heroes of Cybertron line. They were out about 2002-2004. The o-ring +t-hook hip design in the Action Masters is based off the GI Joe figures. If you only need one or two, you can get plumbing o-rings at the hardware store. I don't know why your head is stuck. I know I've taken Bumble Bee apart, but its been years and I don't remember the details.
I have a few of them Devastator is one of them I also have Prowl with loose legs like your Devastator Jazz Grimlock Bumbublebee Wheeljack Blaster Soundwave Megatron Snarl Inferno and Shockwave.
if you don't want to risk braking him you could maybe wedge in some cotton or something into the figure for less air, and their by less wiggle room for the leg hook lowering the wiggle.
When I was younger all my old G.I. Joe's leg rubber bands started rotting so I had to perform surgery on the old troops and replace it with new rubber bands or in some cases bread twisty ties.
only one i used to have was the megatron with the tank i always transformed that tank it was fun as a decepticon like tank titan thing i got it from my cousin in the 90s
The back should come of, but mayjuebea snug fit. You'll need to just gently prise it off working it back and forth. Unfortunately, they don't use the same O rings as GI Joe. I've found that rings with a 12mm diameter and a 3mm thickness are a good fit, based off an original.
The Action masters weren't the reason I quit TF collecting back in the day. But they were a part of it ( the G1 Motorvators hold that honour ) Don't get me wrong. I do have favorites I still own today. Shockwave, Soundwave, and Prowl. But would I seek them out to buy? Yeah, nah. Action masters are pretty simple. And the head should be pretty much the same design of the arms. Someone has probably done a tut on here for disassembly. But I'm pretty sure you just grip it, and rip it. Lol
@@PatriotPrimeReviews I'm like 75% sure that's how they go together. Hopefully someone chimes in with better knowledge. From the waist up, they're essentially a GI Joe. So a tap washer should be fine. Arms have a female socket, and body has male.dies that mean the head is the same? Maybe. But I couldn't tell you, since I don't have one on hand.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews that said owning Gi Joe, they could’ve definitely done a better job with articulation. GI Joe articulation puts action masters to shame!
I don’t know why but as silly as the Action Master concept is, I love them. One of the few genuine (non reissue) G1 figures I own is Action Master Mainframe and I’d probably be down to get more. I always look forward to whenever we get updated Action Masters from the modern toy lines like Titans Return Krok, Generations Selects Jackpot, Kingdom Mainframe, and Super7 Ultimates Banzai-tron.
100% agree. I love modern updates of the Actionmasters. Had quite a few of the G1 Actionmasters. I regret moving most of them on a few years ago though I still have Megatron, Shockwave and Prowl.
Thanks for the review! I’m glad he came fast!!
Super fast!
Thank you so much for the great deal on such a quirky G1.
Omega Supreme also came in the action master line but was called Spreem
There’s a video of him on my channel
Great review. These things are odd, but I bet you find yourself buying more now
It’s so funny as a guy who grew up buying GI JOE’S through the’90s but never remember seeing action masters!

Same here!
Some of the brand new characters looked pretty cool, Krok and Rollout especially
That is down right adorable lol
That looks amazing I'll check out Tommy
I had several of these. Still have my megaton and tank. No accessories. Very cool

Even in small size Devastator is a action filled master of destruction.
There was an Action Master Bruticus too but only released in the UK which will cost a pretty penny complete.

I didn't have him but the plug for the arms worn down so much I had to use plumbers tape to hold the arms on 😂😎

I figured out how to take him apart, I plan on doing a Repair Video tonight.
Keep up the great vids!!
Thanks! Will do!

So does that make Devastator a permanent Combiner? Surprised the Constructicons agreed to that.
In the Earthforce story "Desert Island Risks!", the Constructicons (somehow) lose the ability to combine, so they build a separate giant Devastator.
@@twistedgaming9185 Yeah I was just reading about that funny enough, was looking to see if there was any story of them becoming an Action Master.
I have the scorpinator but devastator wasn’t in the bag of action masters I got from a thrift store
If it’s a favorite character of yurs you will love these. If not eh forget they exist. 😊
I would prefer to collect the individual Constructicons in order to get Devastator
Yep, those are better.

I just saw a video on Action Master repair from "Toy Poli", but he already had them apart.

👍👍
Ol'e floppy hips? Sounds like an girlfriend I used to have
Me too, that's why we broke up...they were too loose.
Why were they trying to counter GI Joe? They owned both brands lol
I just named off an Action Figure line.
