I will concede as a fake Transformers fan I got some of the names wrong. I was in a silly little spot mentally when making this video. The mistakes are being cut out via the UA-cam editor at 1:12 and 2:07. It might take a few hours to update. So if you see comments about it and don't hear me misname them that's what happened. Thank you everyone for letting me know of my mistake and I do apologize. I will try to be better about it next time and I appreciate you all🫡
Of course it doesn't hold. You didn't connect it correctly. You need to insert the pegs of the arms under the chest on the holes first, then you need to place the back inside Longhaul's arms.
This is a great cheap devastor. If you assemble it properly the large form works well and the miniature bots are quite well detailed. I will say though my version has die cast parts on all the robots.
I got a yellow version of this one for Christmas, but I lost the instructions paper. I am now looking for videos on how to combine them into Devastator.
Yeah, this works. I have the Combiner Wars one but I've run out of room so back to the box it went. This is perfect and the same as size as LE Volcanicus (if you stretch out both his legs) so, it works.
Funny thing is this is a knock off of a 3rd party combiner called hulkie (cause copyright) from the company dk9 more specifically from there war in pocket series.
I got this exact set last month, and I love it. For the price I think it's great. I'm not sure if you got unlucky or combined it incorrectly but mine is solid as a rock, I can shake it around and it doesnt fall apart like yours does. The buyer i got it off used the generic stock images of the toys this is a KO of so it showed paint detailing and accesories (individual guns for each constructicon) that arent actually present in the set but considering the price I really dont mind. I love these little guys
i just received this same set a few days ago. i was about to scream and complain "parts missing!!" to the seller till i saw this video honestly LOL and i agree, i thought it was a very solid figure when i finally figured it all out.
Well, for a under $20 knock off, it doesn't look too bad, honestly I would get this and just have it on my dresser or something until I actually get something to put my transformers on (And please for the love of God, I hope him saying Bonecrusher was Scrapper and vice versa was a joke, as a Scrapper fan it hurt)
If the peg between the waist connection is loose, you can dab some super glue on it to make it thicker, or you can sand the pegs to make them more loose if their too tight. Note: got these tips from JobbyTheHong.
I remembered I found a Bootleg G1 Devastator toy. I and had to say, it is by far the most heart breaking thing I’ve ever bought because when I was a little shit. I thought it is a G1 Toy. But then it broke right away after I played with it. Once. But again, this was when I was like 4 years old.
For the unresearched, like this video, this is a KO of the DX9 War in Pocket series Devastator, and yes he's transforming it wrong that's why it doesn't stay together
I own the set and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Only thing that I wasn't happy with was the gun not staying with in the hand and it was an easy fix . You haven't done the combining correctly. Absolutely worth the money.
FUN NOTES: 1: Scavengers bucket slides up closer to the chest. So no more empty space. 2: Mix Masters Purple mixer part can fit on the end of Devs purple rifle. 3: Some Lego weapons fit in the bots hands. The sizes do vary.
Some nifty engineering ideas in that set, like the crane arm becoming Devastator's chest plate. But on the whole, I think I'll stick with my TFC Hercules.
Only honest review I can found about this KO Devastator. For the price, both the robot and construction modes are very fun to play with, but in the Devastator mode, I totally agree with the difficulty in securing the upper and waist together.
Once bought a knockoff FULL set of G-1 Arial-Bots at Flea-Market for $12 bucks on one large flat cardboard back piece with vacuum formed plastic cover holding all the bots in place , obvious knock off packaging but each one was surprisingly good build quality , no die-cast pieces though just plastic but they even had the balls to include all the AutoBot logos , the bots formed the combined Bot "Superion" without trouble , , , back in 2006 , later on I gave it to a friend for Christmas , , , ,
It’s funny how quick KOs change. I got a Quick Change Devestator around 2008, and the parts reduction goofiness on that pretty much ruined everything but the combiner. However, I’ve gotten KOs in the last, well, decade, that are solid. I recently got this Devestator only upscale with die-cast. He holds together pretty well, with maybe the arm connections not as tight.
@@wyldelf2685 Yeah, I know the feeling. Some of the newest mainline figures are a little weird on articulation and plastic quality. At times it’s like they approach “old knockoff”quality, instead of advancing.
Not sure if you were unlucky , but I got one and was able to get the two pegs holding top and bottom in fine , and its pretty sturdy , the trick was leaving the arms sort of loose , and placing them one at a time . Anyway thanks for making the video as MY GOD are the instructions bad . still though I'd recommend it
I'm probably not the first to mention this as I'm pretty late to the party, but this KO is an oversized version of the DX9 legends scale Hulkie set. The original is a pretty fun little set :)
This looks cool and probably more practical assembly, i have the combiner wars KO, has issues with the separate vehicle transformations and with assembling Devastator, it's really like a puzzle, but once assemble, really has more of the old school Devastator look than this one does
i have this one, bought each of em separately, in tesco, in yellow instead of green. and i love it. u just neet to grit a little some tight pegs with sandpaper (if pegs are too tight)
That's a great Devistator. The Devistator I have is so bad they didn't have the Licensing for the Decepticon logo. I wish I had the Devistator in this video. Mine the arms won't stay attached.
Trying to get the top and bottom to peg all at once wasn't working but starting with the front joints to back was pretty stable for me but the waist joints unpin for me for unwanted back crunches. It's mid and I was expecting worse.
First time watching any of your videos! Great review! The set looks neat, but not worth the $20! But I understand the challenges of building figures that small and on top of that squeezing so many features on them as to not have too many extra pieces as with the originals (love Hook's crane was made useful in combiner mode). But I feel pity for Long Haul! Seems to me he can't just get a decent enough design! The Combiner Wars design is the worst I've seen!
I bought this and it just arrived, I could not be happier with the quality. You must have gotten unlucky, because in my opinion I think it's an amazing figure for the price.
Does anybody know where I can buy individual versions of these? I have the set but my bonecrusher broke while trying to fix its loose joints, and I need a replacement of him
i have this , its not a bad toy, you have to peg the one arm in first then the middle peg and combines peg in the back as well as use the tabs ont he crane hook to lock the shoudlers in better
I guess my copy is a little bit okay and it has some die cast parts in it but the gun is different than mine coz it separates to have all of them individual guns and I think there is also g2 colors for that one.
I have an upscaled KO version of this. It was much better quality and also for some reason each robot has one part in their chest made out of die cast.
Okay; first off I want to say that I am a long time fan of Transformers. Do I know everything about them? Of course not and I doubt even the developers and higher ups who’ve been with Hasbro and Takara Tomy the longest even know given how it always seems like they have maybe three right hands and two left hands and two or three heads or whatever and almost neither of them understand the others train of thought. Sad but true.. Anyway; about this set. Sure the DX9 Hulkie set (still in production even after DX9 was bought or merged) has several flaws, but even mainline and other third and fourth party figures have their ups and downs. Look at the Legacy Core Evolution Dinobots which had really caused this set to be one of, if not ‘THE’, main go to sets that scale well with it. Of course there are two size scales of both the G1 and G2 colors for Hulkie, but the original size is the War in Pocket series sized (Core Class) scale. And no matter the reviews; this is one that requires a more in person perspective as no two peoples opinions are always going to be the same. Especially since the current company that develops these have different molds of them in core class size even though they appear almost exactly the same. I know this because I bought a couple from a single seller. I first bought one and was pleasantly surprised with how decent it was and can’t help but compare the quality to the original G1 and imagine how much potential this set has with some updating since these are now fairly dated molds, but still perhaps what we could have had instead of the original Constructicons that even had a missile slapped onto the side of Devastator’s head for some weird reason (and even reproductions of that set are still a little on the flimsy side). Anyway; each robot is simple enough to transform and to even combine although there are some flaws that some upgrading on the companies end could easily fix although two of the robots (Hook and Long Haul) could use some redesigning for some obvious reasons if you check them out for yourselves very carefully like with how they transform to and from robot mode and their combiner modes. Anyway; I had bought a second set thinking it would make a good gift, and they can, and decided to perform some work on them like straiten out the faces on both Mixmaster’s and that is when I noticed the differences. One set uses longer screws and the other uses shorter screws. I also noticed one sets purple, red, and even silver paint hues where slightly darker while the other sets were a little brighter. Taking all this into consideration; it could be an easy hit or miss for anyone, but if you buy it and enjoy it enough yet feel it’s lacking a bit. There is an upgrade kit out there that you can buy. Be sure to check that it’s for the War in Pocket size as these guys do come in one other size with individual guns that form Devastator’s big gun. There are roughly three colors, I don’t know who sells the orange set nor do I know if it sells in both sizes, but the G1 and G2 colors come in core class size and I think what is more deluxe size close to Combiner War deluxe sized if not still just a little smaller. I think all of the upgrade kits I have found online so far only come in one size though since the more core class equivalent appears to be the mainstream version. I haven’t yet bought one myself, but the upgrade kit does look like it would be a must have if you have difficulty with extending the combiner mode connectors in Long Haul’s feet and if you want a more backpack like look by folding up his legs. The upgrade kit also has arm upgrades for making his lower arms appear beefed up. But even without those; this set has a more all-inclusive feel. You can even plug the hands into Scrapper and Bonecrusher and just leave them even though they do look a little out of place although you would have to remove the hands if you want to swap them around since they are the only two limb bots that can be used as either arm. One word of caution; be careful when handling Hook. Always make sure Hulkie/ Devastator’s head is folded out before completely separating his legs for combiner mode or you may accidentally break something and always make sure Devastator’s face is folded inward when stored into Hook’s body or you’ll need to press the head out by pressing the tip of something through the hole in Hook’s abdomen. And the best method I found to link Hook with Long Haul is to first connect Hook’s arms and then carefully aligning his abdomen with Long Haul’s and press down for a firm connection which actually holds very well. You may need to go over checking the connections a little, but it should be solid as long as everything is lined up well. Also keep in mind that Long Hauls shoulders do slide which can either help or hinder the connection although Hook is usually the one whose arms need to be more carefully aligned to help form the shoulders so they can lock with the chest plate. Pretty much no different from anything else really and when compared to the official and unofficial combiner war themed combining transformers; these guys are very much less of a hassle. I have Victorion, Abominus, and Predaking from the Prime War Trilogy and those three sets make me even want to buy a larger version of this set. Again; I just don’t know if there are any upgrade kits for sale for the larger one that I know comes in both G1 and G2 colors. The backpack like look does have some appeal to it and it is a little annoying folding out the connectors in this Long Haul’s feet. And you get what you pay for. This is a great set to have if looking for something that fits a low budget and is simple. Just take care of letting a child play with it as there are some safety cautions to address like the forked like tips of the scoop/ shovel’s on both Scrapper and Scavenger being a little sharp (Bonecrusher is the only one that has them rounded/ smoothened out for some reason). You should be able to figure the rest out from first hand experience which is recommended if you do buy them as a gift set. Two more things about Mixmaster; 1. His individual robot legs become very loose and are perhaps more ideal to fully extend even if it makes him look odd unless you can apply a fix to strengthen their placement. It certain doesn’t help that his actual feet do not extend all the way as they should. And 2. It is recommended to tilt the small cannons/ guns/ missiles at the top of his head so they are in a decent enough angle, they do not need to be folded all the way down, when in his leg mode so Hulkie/ Devastator has a full knee bend in the left leg. Hope this helps and I apologize for the lengthy comment and lack of spacing. I am having difficulty applying proper spaces on here for some unknown reason..
