Obviously his zombie trilogy is great and personally, I love House by the Cemetery because of the unique atmosphere which stands out from all of his other films.

House By The Cemetery and The Beyond were my favourite Fulci movies. First saw them at a foggy, deserted drive-in on a double feature............

Okay, I'll do a Top 5 (w/comments) for now, and maybe later come back and add in 6-10, sans the yappin'.
    1. ZOMBIE (Chris said it best..."the power of simplicity!) And that splinter scene is not overhyped! Totally iconic. This is the one Fulci you can pull out for "normal" horror fans on a Friday night. You know, without the typical scoffing at post production dubbing, etc. Feh... so annoying. Anyway, "ZOMBIE" is not only a linear, wholly effective classic (feat. the very best "Zombie rising from the worm laden dirt" moment in all of horror) but hey, it was my first ever Fulci too, so as Pete said... 😍
    2. THE BEYOND (for me, it's always come off as Fulci's true epic) and it was a genuinely frightening watch back in the later 80s, when I first saw it. Most esp. the scene where Joe "comes back" still chained up behind the wall. That scene was very scary & effective back then, still is. And who can forget that final surreal shot of Dave and Cat's stunned realization. Indelible imagery.
*I also remember renting it as "7 Doors to Death" and although sadly cut, I do kinda remember it's score being different...and good. Right? I think so anyway. At the least, a cool/interesting audio alternative.
    3. GATES OF HELL (City of The Living Dead) I had a very similar experience with this one, Pete. 2nd ever Fulci I saw, and those death scenes...marone! Most esp the power drill to the temple of Gio Radice, and obviously, the "infamous innards," to the shock and awe of Michele Soavi. All the scalp squeezing/squished brains comes in far behind those two stunning and intense scenes.
*I also first saw it as "Gates of Hell," so that's why I refer to this one as such. And....I first looked at it that same way, as a VHS 📼...w/the classic GOH artwork (box), the warning ⚠️ Haha. Halcyon days for the horror fan.
    4. NEW YORK RIPPER (I fucking LOVE "The New York Ripper!") And honestly, I love that sleazy bar scene too! Partly because of Alex Delli Colli (an actresses who, for me, nearly defines late 70s GAOP), but also because that scene gives you something we almost never got in other films of this ilk, so effectively filthy anyway. And that is a truly palpable cinematic connection to the gritty, sexualized 1970s New York City. And here, the distinct 42nd St. sleaze of that mid to late 70s and early 80s NYC just oozes out of this whole movie, but most esp. that one scene!
"70s New York" (where my Dad ran a scrap metal business in Manhattan) was soooooo different from the coffee shop-hipster-metrosexual place that it started becoming in the mid to later 80s. There was nothing like 1970s New York, and the way it matched up with cult cinema and Rock 'n Roll was special. And this movie, (violence and perversion aside), whether you wanted it to or not, took you to "that lustful, dirty side of the city" like no other. Many other cult/horror films did a decent job of it, some very decent, but none to this "particular level" of salacious nihilism.
And man, this particular movie theater/bar scene made you feel like, I dunno... you might get arrested for just watching it -- sorry about the foot though, Craig! Anyway, yeah, Alexandra Delli Colli... Mama Lucia! Casting her in this movie was as good as casting Robert Shaw in JAWS.
    5. DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING (or as I like to say it, in a Lugosi type voice of course, "Do Not Tor-ture de Duckling...de Duckling will not be tor-tured")
So, I was initially gonna say "House By The Cemetery" ⚰️ for #5, and then I thought, "Lizard" 🦎. But then it hit me. DTTD not only gives you a very raw and visceral Florinda Bolkan, but Barbara Bouchet as well! And that scene of Barb disrobing and relentlessly teasing the young boy is so worth the price of admission! All of us Fulci fans of the "male persuasion".... that's the fantasy, right? Like Craig said, "where were these lascivious, seductive women when I was 12"
*btw, out of sincere interest... are there any "female" Lucio Fulci fans? Gotta be some, right? If so, I'd want to know ya (at least for a few nights at a time anyway. I mean, you'd have to be messed up in the head, so...) Seriously though, genuine female Fulci fans? That's gotta be similar to finding female Rush fans in the 70s and 80s.
Okay, at'll do'er for now. Might come back and do 6-10. So again...
    1. ZOMBIE 🦈
    2. THE BEYOND 🔧 🕷️
    3. GATES OF HELL 🧠
    4. NEW YORK RIPPER 👣🌮
    5. DON'T TORTURE THE DUCKLING 🦆💃
..and why not, here's one for half-assed "Aenigma" too --> 🐌

All you guys have the same top three in a different order and it’s also my top three. City of the Living Dead tops my list. In addition to all the great gory scenes, I dig the atmosphere and the soundtrack. That movie blows me away.
I enjoy The Black Cat, I consider it Fulci’s Hammer film. I even kind of liked the bizarreness of Conquest, blurry film stock aside. New York Ripper I watched the same day as Cannibal Holocaust this past October, you wanna talk about needing a shower? I think the final stench from that double feature should be off three weeks from now. Thanks for a great show everyone, would love to see a similar Bava episode.

@ Chris Alo: As per IMDB, New York Ripper had a brief NYC run with 21st Century Film Corporation in 84. They didn't censor Nightmare (1981) or Lenzi's City of the Walking Dead (1980), so maybe this was unedited as well, unlike Seven Doors.
Great lists as usual fellas, special shoutout for Massacre Time (1966) and Four of the Apocalypse (1975), underrated Westerns that feature Fulci kicking ass after the Giallo masterworks but before his Zombie Gore classics.

I have read internet rumors that NY Ripper played in NYC. However, I have never seen a poster or a newspaper ad from then to verify that, so I am skeptical, but it's possible. It took me 20 years, but I did find a US theatrical one sheet for Gates of Hell released as "Twilight of the Dead", so it's could be!

Those later TV movies are quite good, less gory for sure but thick on atmosphere and old Fulci stars like Al Cliver and Cinzia Monreale appear.

Fulci left the set and the production of Sodoma's Ghost in the middle of the shooting, the film was completed by Mario Bianchi, I don't even count it.

I have to be the only person who actually likes Bob from House by the Cemetery. He's hilarious! Him and Yogi!
Gates of Hell/City of the Living Dead is also my fav Fulci. That drill to the head really disturbed me when I first saw it as a teen.

Yes, Bob is very misunderstood! He's a hero! Well, that's a joke. But seriously. I think he's underrated.

Silver Saddle (1978) is nice too, one of the last spaghetti westerns made and stars Geoffrey Lewis, Giuliano Gemma and the ever lovely Cinzia Monreale.

Just thought I'd give mention to "The Devil's Honey". Wall to wall kink and nudity delivered in Fulci's never subtle style. You got the top three right, whatever order you put them in.

The only Fulci film I've seen over and over is House By The Cemetery. Bob! Hilarious and... annoying. Ok mostly annoying. I have Prime and looked up The New York Ripper and was pleasantly surprised to find it on AMC plus! I'm totally watching it when I'm done watching your top 10 Fulci films. I paused it just so I could comment. Lol.

It is funny how certain artists, either in film, music, or painting, are not given their due respect until they are either dead or past their prime. I will cite the French painter, Pierre Bonnard. If you ever want to experience how a master uses color, check out his paintings. Picasso, probably through professional jealousy, badmouthed him as being "late impressionist" back in the day, so art history neglected this genius painter forever. Only recently has his inventive and extremely progressive understanding of color been recognized and celebrated.

Cat in the brain is bonkers but total garbage. Fulci as the main actor has gotta be one of the most cringe acting of all times. Seems like he even included scenes from movies he didn't even directed because those guys had ripped him off.
