Pittsburgh is spelled with an "h" at the end because you say it as if you're sighing in frustration which is fitting cuz every time you get your hopes up about Pittsburgh they always let you down
This is the high mark of Pirates baseball in the 21st century. While wildcard win was groundbreaking and therapeutic, this was exhilarating. They were one win from reaching the NLCS; and there was belief that this was the start of something special. Unfortunately, it’s still the closest they’ve come to sniffing a World Series in this century.
The best thing about the early to mid 201’s, teams that haven’t made the playoffs in decades finally had some playoff runs. Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Toronto to name a few.
Getting so much nostalgia looking at these teams. Wish the Cards still had this dominance. Pretty much knowing we would at least make the NLCS from 2011-2014
I WAS AT THIS!!! Four sections left of the press row on the first base side in the second deck. Goddamn you, Bob Nutting. At least you aren't as cheap as Moreno?
I watched a UA-cam video before and it said that the pirates are being bad on purpose to get money from all of the other teams. Then in 3 or 4 years there our going to get all of the all star players. For example Hyun Jin Ryu a free agent in 2 years they’ll probably go after him because they’ll have a lot of money from all of the other good teams.
This pirates team felt like "Our" team. Its nice to have players people know and love. Also its always beem the pirates thing to keep a useless hitter on the roster. Gabby Sanchez was straight garbage how was he in the majors. Of course he grounds into a dp in the bottom of the 8th with 2 runners on
The pirates are one of those teams who would be good in the 2021 season if they never traded Cole, marte, Martin, bell, mcutchen, I think liriano and aj Burnett although Burnett would retire with the pirates if he stayed
Eh, maybe. But part of the reason that you don't win for 30 years is that you don't make the most of who you have. For example, Cole was good with the Pirates, but he was fucking amazing with Houston. I can't remember the specifics because that was 4 or 5 years ago, but it wasn't (just) Houston having better sticky stuff, he changed the way he used his pitches. The talent is important, but so are people that know how to get the most out of it.
Throw goes to third, NOT IN TIME????????????????????????? Or do u mean off-line??? Throw beats him by 15 feet so it’s in plenty of time, it was off-line, that’s why he was safe. Big game, your voice being heard by millions, and you come up with that? Not in time. Have u ever watched a Baseball game? Like even once??? Lmao
Wait, the Pirates used to be good??
Ikr
Cardinals have always been good though
Yes they were
Can you make one of games 1, 2, and 3 of the 2021 nlcs
2011 ALCS Game 5 or 2013 ALCS Game 1
I always forget about this series. Let’s be honest, besides Cardinal fans, we all wanted Pittsburgh to win.

Why would anyone want the Cardinals to win?
@@famguy218 Me if they were playing the dodgers, yankees, astros, and giants
@@Grievous_ you clearly don’t have memories of recent times…
@@famguy218 Why would anyone want the Pirates to win? The only time they have fans is when they’re actually good lol
Always fun to remember that Joe Kelly used to be a starter
He's played for and against the Cardinals, the Dodgers, and the Red Sox in several postseasons
Man that crowd is energetic
gotta get the most out of a good Pirates team since it's so rare
Back when the Pirates were an actual threat in the NL Central
Yep
Had they braten STL they couldve upset Dodgers snd go to WS
Pirates-Red Sox series wouldve been insaine
@@jonathanfrimerman8855 Red Sox still would’ve won. the only team who could’ve legitimately stopped the Sox was the Tigers
Great times😢
Keep these forgotten classics up! Love the content man
This is the high water mark for the Pirates over the past 30 years
thank you for posting man, I've been watching you for years now and u never disappoint. keep it up
The fact that this was the last time the pirates have won a playoff game is depressing
I can’t say anything other than that I’m pumped I found this channel, great content!
This is the last time the pirates won a playoff game 😢

Real ones remember when King Kelly was a starting pitcher
The best thing about the early to mid 201’s, teams that haven’t made the playoffs in decades finally had some playoff runs. Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Toronto to name a few.
As a Pirate fan you have no idea how much this upsets me
I agree, I wish the team could be like this again
Bob Nutting doesn’t care. He also will never allow this kind of success again
Getting so much nostalgia looking at these teams. Wish the Cards still had this dominance. Pretty much knowing we would at least make the NLCS from 2011-2014
Mccuchen was such a beast back then 2 runs
A few recommendations:
1999 ALCS Game 3
2016 World Series Game 5
2012 NL Wild Card Game
Man I just want this to come back to Pittsburgh again…please
I WAS AT THIS!!! Four sections left of the press row on the first base side in the second deck. Goddamn you, Bob Nutting. At least you aren't as cheap as Moreno?
Kelly in STL.
I Haven’t heard it😂
My image is LAD.
I knew I wasn't the only one
Lol I hate vids that are ten minutes plus. This vid is perfect
Baseball is better when the pirates are good.
When Pirates, Orioles and Reds are all good at same time its the best
You should do game 1 of the 2004 World Series if you can find footage
You should do the 2003 ALDS Game 1 of the Red Sox and A's
Big hair McCutchen was a BEAST. He still good these days but back in the day he was a problem
why do pittsburgh and toronto have the most passionate sports fans in any sport
Boston boi
Huge cards fan here time for us to comeback
Back when the Pirates were actually good
Ohhh yes
Do Indians vs Red Sox 2016 ALDS Game 1 or 3

No. They're just bad because Bob Nutting is a cheap prick. It's why I gave up on the Bucs in 2018.
Pirates aren’t going after anyone. Ownership is pocketing all the money
Back when the Pirates were actually competetive
And good
Pirates are gonna be back in the playoffs multiple times before 2025.
Pirates fan here. Please find your local drug rehab clinic. Addiction is no joke. I’m pulling for you.
@@dirkdiggler2865 um... The Pirates are in first place in the national league right now.

Pete Kozma should NOT have been a major league player. They must’ve been extremely desperate and injured as a team
Wait a minute the pirates used to be relevant
Idc what anyone says. Clint 2nd best to skipper
Forgotten by who? No one is western PA, I’ll say that much.
Also Forgotten, yes, Classic, nope. Where’s the suspense? Not even a threat in the 9th inning??? Idk good game but just a regular good game

I hate to say it, but this play by play guy was always my least favorite. He doesn't say anything smoothly
