Have upgraded ones, going back to oem, sounds crazy to some maybe but now that the e39 and e53 are in the 20 year old status, I feel like its right to keep it original and distinctive 90s / 2000s BMW. Every car on the road has white lights, now its no mistaking a BMW orange halo.
Debbie, errors probably due to a resistance change that the computer sees as too far past normal. In other words, if the LED bulbs have a different resistance than the factory bulbs, the computer will throw a code because it reads it as a malfunctioning circuit. Other reason could be that for some reason, the rest of the lamps (parking, turn, etc) are not working. The computer will throw a code there too. If you're buying cheap LEDs, look into more expensive brands, and contact the manufacturers about this. These issues are apparent in certain bmws, and some LEDs work and some will not....god luck
Hi I got a X5 E53 it doesn't come with Angel Eye rings. I'm planning on installing the aftermarket Angel Eye rings and change the High and Low beam to LED. Could you please help with recommending the best products I can get to achieve my goal. Thanks
Interesting, I literally just changed mine on my e39. The "510?" bulbs are insanely difficult to find in the US (or perhaps just for me and my lame brain). So I went led and they work great and are insanely easy to install. By the way, who's your soccer team mate?
Doc I need some advice please I want to fit some aftermarket led headlights on my bmw x5 3d sport 2003 wich I presume its x5 e39 and I've been looking and I only find for the x5 e53... Do they fit on the x5 e39? Thanks 👍 and your vids been very helpful Doc
Swapped these out on my E60. Then swapped out the low beam/running lights for leds, and the angels eyes eventually stopped working. No warning message either. Confused.
I have 160w LED markers for e61 2007 pre fl and they are dimm. I did brightness with bimmercode to high, but still almost same effect. So come to conclusion that my rings are tosted, right? Or i do not understand the problem. Thanks.
Am I missing something? The sidelight bulb powered the Halo rings? Wait what! Am I just a moron 😂 I thought halo rings were powered by themselves and not the actual parking lights. Madness ?????

Do they fit on an e66 730li 2006? Or only the 5 series?
