My Rog Ally just stopped playing all my emulators and Vulkan just disappeared ...weird. THANK YOU so much for this video as it got everything back up and running for me. I was about to take the machine back and this saved me big time . Thanks again ..Legend :)
I reckon the latest windows update wrecked things so i also went into the windows updates and uninstalled the latest one of these I think it was 24/1 or 27/1
I dont know but somehow AFMF is not what makes the device better - it is just not working without stutter. It is strange because I tried puredark mod and it was a lot better.

Theres isnt a TM 780 graphics.. theres TM 780 or 780 graphics (no TM). I chose 780 graphics (no TM). Everything seems to working fine but let me no if this is wrong. Subbed 👍🏽

Idk if the gpu driver I have doesn’t support the current adrenalin software ? I’ve been gaming with a lot of bug’s happening, my fps limiter stopped working.

When I right click and the AMD software adrenaline edition pops up, I click on it and it says the version of AMD software that you have launched is not compatible with your current installed AMD Graphics driver. What do I do from here?

AMD updated their site and now you can't choose 7480u, there is only: Ryzen 7 4800H/U, A4-4000/4020/5300/5300b with Radeon HD 7480D and A6-7480 with Radeon R5 Series. Which one do I need for ROG Ally?
Everytime i do the amd cleanup utility when it restarts it boots me in safe mode and i cant put in my pin to log in so I've been reinstalling windows 3x now
don't select safe mode, it will uninstall them fine - you don't have to reinstall to get out of that, but use the install disk to enter command line and clear the safe boot flag
Use the TM 780m graphics not the other versions like he said. Thats why you guys have amd adrenaline not supported / not working with current driver issue.
I got a question….. let’s say I updated the drivers directly from AMD, will I now be able to update the drivers from the new adrenaline software anytime a new driver comes out ?, or will I have to do the whole process again for a new driver ?

If you install the Ally one it will wipe the sideloaded one If you are already on the AMD sideloaded one you can upgrade without cleaning first, but you will likely need to do the same software update as well

i do this and it works but then all of a sudden it tends to revert back to the armoury crates amd drivers and i have the automatic essential update set to off not sure what to do, i have to keep repeating this process because it wants to go back to old drivers.
Did this and after restarting it’s saying pin unavailable. Tried everything even resetting my ally and nothing works. Currently trying myasus in winre cloud recovery. Hopefully it works.

HI. I'm experiencing some strange issue with my RoG ALLY. in AMD adrenaline section I cannot see a tab called "overlay", just beside a "tracking" tab, in "performance">"metrics" area. Newest driver 24.3.1. Can You help me, please?
I followed this guide and had some issues so i did what you said to go back and eveything is fine until the search for amd software part, the only thing that comes up for me is radeon link. Any ideas on what i should try next?
I installed it and it shows up in the drivers but when i put it on I get no green circle that i get on my pc to say it's activated. And turning V sync off and changing it to borderless fullscreen does not do anything. I tried it in starfield and a couple other games and no go. so god knows.EDIT I think i accidently installed 740M drivers as when doing DDU to cleanup it says 740M. What a dumbass. My fat finger missed 780M lol. should work now.
When installing the lastest version (not the preview version) when your in device manager dont select 780 (tm) graphics select AMD Radeon Graphics and adrenaline software should open after that without giving you the hardware error message

@@ToneBoy10001 I had to look online but if I remember correctly I had to hold volume up and power on after shutdown then go through the ASUS care recovery to factory reset! Hope this helps!
Idk if I’m the only one, but this is the second time I tried to run amd cleanup utility and once I’m rebooting system in a safe mode my rog ally just bricks. Pretty much have to reinstall windows, so annoyed at this point.
@@AllyinHand also have u noticed a bug on the amd drivers on the rog ally at 15 watts ?. If u play on 15 watts I get limited to 800 mhz on the gpu after the boost is gone. After reinstalling the asus drivers at 15watts the gpu sits above 800 mhz even after the boost is done. Do u know y this is ? Or wat the workaround may be ?…. I’ve been searching but I haven’t seen anyone addresss the problem
So im running games with Vsync off and exclusive fullscreen but its still saying afmf isnt compatible with my display config. Ive tried it on BG3 and red dead 2 and it works on neither. Im reinstalling it now to see if that does the trick but does anyone have any tips?
are you running BG3 in DirectX 11 mode? It won't work with Vulcan - also I showed this workong on BG3 in the AMFD yesterday, also running Bios 336 and optimised windows games (also shown in that video)

Is the game running in Direct X 11 or 12? Doesn't work if it's anything else (Like Vulkan) - We will have a video on Fluid Frames use in the next 1-2 days
Same process. You should be able to do it without clearing the previous driver but you should delete the directory. If in doubt run the clean installer first but do not select safe boot.
@@emanuele4809 the AMD directory correct - As for safe mode, you will get stuck because the Ally doesn't support safe mode and your user won't be able to login

you could have also unistalled opencl,opengl compatibility in installed apps

@@ZaineZambuto right click windows icon, you'll see installed apps. there is a program titles opencl,opengl compatibility. just unistall it.

Yes, but you can stop automatic update from Armoury create and that won't update itself

There is a TM 780 graphics. I recommend you look for that again otherwise you might get low performance and software instability

its mostly for safety, but you should do it if you are switching between the AMD version and ROG ally version (just don't enter safe mode when asked)

you have to use the link to get the AMD app from the windows store

yeah don't boot to safe mode - there is a fix without reinstalling completely, will do a guide soon but look up windows clear safe boot flag
What did you mean by 99% option on fps? My overlay isn’t showing fps
In the Radeon one, not the ASUS one, if you install these drivers, don't use the ASUS one.
@@AllyinHand I was using the Radeon, was just coming up N/A think it might be a common problem with this overlay
Can’t figure it out removed everything using the utility then when I install I can’t find the program after I open up add or remove programs
The utility removes it for you.
My driver is still the one from November lol, how have they not released one since then

I did the Bios 336 update as well, not sure if that helps this, but should give a small performance boost as well

I said don’t select safe mode lol. There’s a command you can enter to clear the safe mode flag but you’ll need to create a recovery disk first

What ist the different between TM and non TM???
TM is for integrated graphics (like in the APU) where as Non-TM is for seperate GPU or cards (discrete)

Same process. You should be able to do it without clearing the previous driver but you should delete the directory. If in doubt run the clean installer first but do not select safe boot.
by deleting the directory you mean the AMD one under the C drive right? in case of cleaning why shouldn't safe boot be selected?
@@emanuele4809 the AMD directory correct - As for safe mode, you will get stuck because the Ally doesn't support safe mode and your user won't be able to login

Can't find the amd software in the ms store, only AMD link.

I installed everything and enabled afmf. Exclusive full screen and no v-sync but it keeps saying inactive in the overlay when I open Miles morales, Witcher 3 or cyberpunk? Any idea what the reason for that is? Playing on legion go. Thanks for the video!
Okay found out it has to be in portrait mode on the legion go. What a bummer…

yeah they are at least 2 months behind on the existing drivers and the AFMF is in preview currently so not even officially out on the AMD Site
