So many games have odd choices like that. I remember in SWTOR there was this one mission where you have to find this Sith Lord, but in order to get to him you have to kill at least 500, probably far more, imperial soldiers just to reach his lair. Then you get there, beat him down, raise your lightsaber to kill him and this window pops up informing you that if you kill him you'll gain Dark Side points. Like... what the hell? I was a walking lightsaber blender for the past two hours, but now killing the bad guy is suddenly the wrong choice?!?
People! Have you ever analyzed the story flow (the narrative) of the SOE Epic Arc? The Sisters are a humanitarian organization. How would they view you, a capsuleer, who kills millions of the denizens of EVE universe every day? Look at the profile of Sister Alitura. Is she looking at you with white, rolled eyes? Have you heeded the hint from the Scope reporter saying "Doesn't this seem odd to you? All these clandestine machinations for a single drone?" And why, during a mission, does the Sister Agent has to emphasize to you "This is completely safe. You'll be fine"? If all these are not enough to rouse your suspicions, consider the one and only NPC in the game that is also a capsuleer, the final boss of the whole Arc: Dagan. Quote the Sister: "Dagan is the captain of the very first fleet the rogue drones attacked. He is supposed to be dead. It's very important to the Sisters that he is made dead." Read the quote again... What is that to you? Enough of a tell-tale sign? No? Do you and Dagan have anything in common? One single "elephant in the room" shared attribute? It's obvious! The Sisters want all capsuleers dead! All capsuleers are terrorists! Just like Dagan. The rogue drones are their making, an experimental weapon, to kill the immortals, those who cannot normally be killed, the kind of "gods" in the EVE universe, such as yourself... By the way, also consider this train of events: You killed Mizara. Then, you are sent to bring the news to Mizara's masters: "Hey, I just killed your pupil. She turned bad egg; it has to be done... Now let's be allies and cooperate for my mission." And after that, you are sent to Mizara's parents, "Hey, I just killed your daughter. It has to be done... Condolences. Here is her childhood doll." Ha! What a natural, of-course story. Nothing strange. Nothing out of place. Nothing ridiculous. Every one of the players personally went through the whole thing. Surely one of them would have noticed if it were "not quite right".
I have run it several times in a Daredevil. Since the point of the arc is to take you on a tour of high sec empire space, travel is what you do the most of. Now of course I have max skills which means anything I do the SoE with is going to be easy- but the Daredevil is my go to for running the arc. Plenty of tank (mostly speed tanking anyway) and plenty of firepower for Dagan at the end without needing a destroyer.
I did the SOE arc well before I was technically ready for it and had no clue what I was doing. Did pretty much all of it in a Cormorant. After dying like 4 times I realized I wasn't getting passed Dagan. I had a Moa cruiser and ended up fitting that and bringing it. It was a complete crap fitting but it had the DPS to get him. It was more luck than anything else really. It's been a few years... I should go back and try it out.
I had done this many years ago before I understood the ending being used to raise your empire favor. ~Choosing the empire that hates you most or, as you said, using it to get to L3's faster.. but choose smartly at the end! I have been watching your back catalogue of videos its great stuff. This reminded me of my first destroyer that I used for way back before I took a long break from the game (I recently returned on a completely new account). My first destroyer and the one I used for this was a passive shield tanked arty thrasher, it was super easy to get through until the last mission because my sustained DPS was not there and it took forever. He couldn't kill me but it was probably like 15 minutes to kill that ship lol. The arty thrasher back then could 1 hit alpha strike most frigates though which was fun but the passive tank taking up low slots kills your DPS, it really showed that I had no idea what I was doing.
I tried this in my Kestrel and it ended in tears - first & second death in the game. I really enjoy the missile life, so I shall try your Corax out! Thank you for the guide.
I recently did the SOE Arc in an Alpha fit Nereus, CCP have changed Dagan's repair mechanics, and you cant nuet him out any longer - I had to go swap for a Corax I had lying around in a nearby station; and use that to kill him - all the rest was done in the Nereus with 3 hobgoblin drones as the only armament.
@@captainbenzie Dagan used to be different, I neut'ed him out as late as last year, to the point he could no longer rep, now he keeps repping, even if you drain him down to nothing (1GJ per cycle).
How do you handle salvage on these kind of mission chains (or more in general) ? Do you just bookmark your combat sites, and switch ships? These days there are salvage drones, and some other deployables for cleaning up battlefields. As someone that hated to leave stuff behind, and found dealing with two ships problematic, I'd resort to some of the "hybrid fits". But what is your your "goto" solution for a "new" player? Just ignore battlefield salvage, and just collect what's in the cargo holds, or just take the time penalty (and relocation bother) of switching to a dedicated salvage ship?
Honestly for newer players I wouldn't bother with salvage or looting for the most part on these missions. Most of it is very low value. For salvage and looting in Agent Missions or other ratting, I drop an MTU, bookmark it, and come back with a Salvage ship, or just offer the BMs to a friend/corpmate/alt.
@@captainbenzie I'm one of those players that can't bear to leave anything behind, or throw anything away. 😅 I was never good at calculating most effective/efficient in game practices
First time I did this it was in a talwar, took awhile but managed it without losing any ships. Just recently did it again on an alt, I just went for Vexor fitting with T2 drones, just threw a few hobgoblins at Dagan and watched him die. Definitely the way to go if you can hold yourself to just skilling for that fit.
Tbh dragoon is awesome for this arc, tech 1 lasers means no ammo, same with drones. You have to manage range as it's a bit slower than the others, but you can do most with just the drones, a drone range rig and a sensor booster means you can kite at your max targeting range
A great idea and indeed, absolutely viable! Any of the T1 destroyers can do the arc, my only (mild) concern with the Dragoon and Algos is that they also require investment into drone skills which the others don't need. But if you're using drone skills anyways, go for it! Excellent ship!!
Never thought to ask this: you gave a fit for turret ships and a fit for rockets / missiles. But I was considering playing a character that was drone focused. Is there a fit that a drone pilot could easily use?
Oh absolutely, Algos and Dragoon both work well but I didn't include them because of the extra investment into Drone skills. I don't have them offhand either but basically fit tank and drones 😊
The Dragoon worked well for me. As for the boss fight he is weak to explosive. Bring a friend for that fight his resistances are 73% and higher and it takes a few 100dps to break his tank. If you don't have any friends in game ask in corp or in local channel and someone will help you.

I was going to give up and just try a different fit and ship all together, and decided to give it one last shot by abandoning the rocket idea and instead revert back to the long range missiles. Never got hit one time and he went down like a sack of potatoes.
You don't need that high, that recommendation is based on poorer application, and you can overheat. Glad you found a way that works for you though
How do u restart this SOE Arc when completed once? I did it 7-8 months ago atleast but if i go into the specific arc all the missions are still marked as completed already.
Once it's been fully completed, it should just appear as a fresh Arc 90 days later.
can i realistically beat Kritsan Parthus in a thrasher?
Hello and good day Capt. Benzie! As a newer player- What is a blaster and what do I need to train for and buy? I could, and will go try to find it while I wait for an answer - but could save future viewers HOURS of hunting and pecking! Thank you I will start with the requirements for the blasters which I will try to find out about on the market tab, info and requirements tab! Pretty awesome!
Is this the one - or go for the BIG ones (I am trained to V in Hybrid railguns)
Light Ion Blaster I
Blasters are just the short version of Hybrid Turrets, with Railguns being the long range version. They're very high DPS, but very short range.
@@captainbenzie Thanks! I used the Hybrid Turrets and kitted the whole time (just because it is my style) and Dagone was not too bad. Keep up the Awesome!
What about ship restrictions? The last time it said "You may use your Coercer..." my ship was destroyed.
You can still lose a ship that's viable to use of you don't have the right skills/setup. A Coercer can absolutely run the Epic Arc, I'd just use Beams on most missions and kite the enemies, swapping to Pulses for Dagon.
Hi....and another excellent guide ! Can i use your Corax abyssal fit as well for this ? except Dagan or whatever his name is
Yes you can!
Quick note, make sure you do not have horribly negative standings with Gallente. The missions take you into Gallente space, and as I quickly learned while doing a mission, it does not take very long for the Gallente Navy to blast the shit out of your destroyer. And oh yes, they will find you, lol.
Same for any of the four empires. You visit them all 😂
Hi Benzie I'm doing an Epic Arc Mission that I started a while ago but I didn't finish and when I try to start the mission now I'm not allowed to start is there a way to break the mission and start new
You "should" be able to do the last mission at range, IF you Sensor Damp that boss.
True, but just easier to swap to short range and outdps
Any chance that running this in a well fit Kiki is easy mode?
To a certain degree, yes 😉
would a fully fitted ishtar with t2 everything work?
It would be absolutely overkill so yes 😂
@@captainbenzie aww sweet thanks! I'll tell my friend to bring their tengu as well we should be able to scrape by Dagan.
Thanks for the continuing great videos and great presentations! Great Stuff ~(:>)
Thank you!
Does arc missions cause negative rating or opposite factions?
Some do. The SOE arc does not.
@@captainbenzie SOE is sister of eve?
@@jollygreen4662 yes
I don't know where Benzie is getting the "4 hours" time frame.
I ran this last night on my drone pilot alt. I didn't read any of the mission text and I had minimum real-life distractions, and it still took me around 6 hours. 😜
What ship were you using?
@@captainbenzie An Algos. Basically the Abyssal Algos from AceFace. Drone skills are all 4 or 5, I think.
Maybe you skipped out on the unnecessary looting? I personally can't stand not looting. 😂
@@psbates oh yeah, I was going to say maybe warpspeed but absolutely looting. It's practically worthless 😅
Can you just use a praxis for all of them?
You can but it's expensive and very slow to move. You'll take a LONG time warping to all the destination points
Can you do the pirate stronghold raid?
Swamped and ripped to shreds in my coercer 😂...
Oof! Go long range for most of the arc, short range for Dagan.
I have like 50 less DPS with the same Thrasher fit, i must be doing something wrong
Could be skills
Thanks for the video. You mentioned the three weapon types, how about the other two (missiles and drones)?
What do you mean? I meant "turrets and missiles", I didn't cover drones.
@@captainbenzie Ah missed the missile part. I guess drones work too? Or the rats like to eat your drones?
@@newchaoz drones work too for sure!
So, can I bring my Drake?
I'm not sure if all the gates allow Battlecruisers (no confirmation either way) but the Drake would be very slow with all the jumping back and forth
Yes, I know the meme, just don't think it's a good idea here 😂
Nope...Not ready for this just yet. LOL!
Lmao 😂
Good stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@captainbenzie have fun at Fanfest!
i cant do this.. as my standings are borked lol
How borked?
@@captainbenzie -9.x and worse lol... I do have access to the lvl 4 soe agent in amarr space and can fix that to the point i can travel in gal and matar space. but i rarely travel in them regions.
when I just got a 110M Vexor navy issue to arton,
I found this corax fit(I have light missile V, light missile specialization II)
XD
Better just use this Vexor NI until there are some missions in low sec
VNI is a cool ship!
Please can you share your Jackdaw fit for this?
It's the same as my Jackdaw C2 video 😊
ua-cam.com/video/CrrmrHwo2so/v-deo.htmlsi=BnoffK5D4yfTPOKd
Not easy if your an enemy of the Amarr empire , exceedingly difficult but doable in fact .
What happened to EVE ANYWHERE?
Aye Aye sir
😊🚀
I love my corax.
Great ship!
@@captainbenzie indeed, I have like 5 or 6 fitted atm. 😅
I was here lol
