    Nice overview, think I will link this to some of our newbies who just say "how do I fit this?" w/o telling us what they want to fit it for! I learned a lot about how to read the tools on the fitting screen, as I had some basics but there are plenty of things i missed too. Thanks, and clear skies!

    If you have the space in the low slots it's usually a good idea to fit a damage control module. A decent increase in all resistances is nothing to sneeze at.

    One thing I always struggle with is knowing “how hard” a site or mission is, and how to know how good my ship needs to be to run it

    Good video...I would add that a simple explanation by looking at module variations you may make a much better ship. Straight tech 1 modules are "typically " the worst and are often more expensive due to demand for tech 2 building. I am also a big fan of damage control modules so that would be my other comment. 😊 39:17

    One thing I'd really like to get a better understanding on is when to use a tracking computer, vs a target painter vs a webber... examples shooting above or below your signature radius class, at ranges, with what weapons and so on.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  Рік тому +2

      There's a really simple way for this but it is a decent video topic:
      If you're solo, a Tracking/Guidance Computer is best. After that, you use a web if they'll be in range, or a Painter if they won't be in web range. Bit more finesse to it than that, but that's the basics! Video soon!

    • @Raso719
      @Raso719 Рік тому +2

      @@captainbenzieThanks, I appreciate it! Getting those medium turrets to hit smaller faster targets in some of these missions has become quite the time sink.
      I mostly solo in my Gold and bone Cruiser (and cruiser and BC class are my favorite ships!) and I have definitely been feeling the struggle with NPC Assault Ship and Interceptor like targets... where even my drones aren't keeping putting out tue fire power I feel they should be.

    • @danmontie6367
      @danmontie6367 11 місяців тому

      @@Raso719Consider the trade off between the larger, medium and smallest turret sizes (cruiser & BC turrets, that is, not under-gunning - also, I’m Gallente, we have three sizes for every class), and adding a tracking computer to bring back your range. It’ll give you a smaller DPS number, but you may find you have better EFFECTIVE DPS overall. Also, if you’re fit with a damage rig, swap it for a tracking rig.
      It took me a while to learn that lesson. Plus, stepping down in turret fitting requirements sometimes allowed me to step up my tank or cap.

    Back in my day, years ago, I used EFT (EvE fitting tool) to simulate fits. Is the fitting window now sufficient for this? Or do you have some other as your favorite? The fitting window sim looks good to me...

    The capacitor is the reactor of the ship fitted with the engines. It must be cap stable most of the time. Right? High tech equipment puts a lot of strain on the reactor core, but it's more efficient.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  3 місяці тому +1

      I've done a full video explaining Capacitor here:
      ua-cam.com/video/hjxUmqOqECY/v-deo.html
      In short, it needs to be Cap stable for as long as it needs to be. If you've got 1min of Capacitor with everything running, then you need to finish the fight or whatever in 1min. Of course, if you are capacitor stable with all your modules off, then you will partially recharge (as displayed) if everything is off.

    • @FullAfterburner
      @FullAfterburner 3 місяці тому +1

      @@captainbenzie huh, what about the relationship between the capacitor and power grid management and CPU power limits? Thanks btw

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  3 місяці тому +1

      @@FullAfterburner CPU and PG don't affect capacitor, and some high CPU/PG modules use very little capacitor. Some ships have high limits, but low capacitor etc... they're not at all linked.

    I tried the game using your referral link. I like Eve but unfortunately the fonts are so small even after maxing out font size and UI scale to 150%. This game is not for an old man. Or maybe I need to buy a 32" monitor

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  8 місяців тому

      Yeah, there's a lot of text and it can be quite small. I definitely recommend playing with the overall resolution too, not just text size, and a bigger screen can definitely help!

  • @cckidd27
    @cckidd27 8 місяців тому +1

    You should mention that fittings and stats depend on your skills. I'm getting different stats on fittings and charges than you, probably because your skills are higher than mine.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  8 місяців тому

      Fair point. I'd hope it was fairly obvious to folks, but yes, I should make an effort to point that out more!!

    • @cckidd27
      @cckidd27 8 місяців тому

      @@captainbenzie It's important to mention skills, because the Corax: Caldari Enforcer fitting for a Caldari Bounty Hunter has the CPU overloaded for me in the simulated fitting. I think the power grid was overloaded to, but I think trained my power grid skill high enough to make it work.

  • @TheBilbodreamer
    @TheBilbodreamer 8 місяців тому +2

    I created exactly the fit you demonstrated in the video and I get 51,2 dps (not 199,1), max flight for the missile 20 km etc. (I am Alpha player, with 1 month og history in the game). So you should include in your video the skills you got at the moment of the video to emphasize how it is impacting the performances of the fit. Despite this, the video is excellent for demonstrating how to fit a ship (that was the purpose of the video).

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  8 місяців тому

      It's almost impossible for me to properly showcase every single skill that would affect these things. Make sure you're using the right ammo for certain ships too. But yes, skills are very important - know the numbers you'll need (for example, 100-120 DPS for Abyssals) and make sure you hit that
