Omg. I wish I could have him. Hes sooo cute. He's so smart. Reminds me of my skunkie. He's very smart. U can get him to do things. He's going to b a good boy. Cuddles from me. He's so cute.😘😘😘😘
I lost my oldest girl, Scoot, just before Christmas. She is my life changing love that can never be replaced ❤ but she was so social that I know she'd want her sister, who is still here, to have good company. I'm looking at rescues & shelters & I'll be glad to give another piggy a loving home. It warms my heart to see Neville give so many licks, because Scoot gave me a million kisses every day. I hope the pig I adopt will give me a few kisses too ❤ maybe they'll have a sweet name as well. Neville is a great piggy name!
I impulse bought a Guinea pig for my son for Christmas. I know now to adopt, don’t shop and I feel bad. I never knew Guinea pig rescues existed. Note: As a mom I don’t purchase any animals for my son that I’m not in love with and willing to take care of myself. After I got home I watched you and Saska’s videos. I went back 2 hours later and grabbed a second one from the litter. The second is so small and has a URI. She looked fine in the store. Later I heard sneezing and realized she had a crusty eye. I took her, aka Peanut, to an exotic vet the day after Christmas. She is on azithromycin and is feeling yucky. Thank you for all your information and tips. P.S. I checked my local shelters and they have zero piggies, and there are not any rescues. I feel a bit better about my impulse buy, especially since my second pig was sick and the pet store told me it was allergies. If I had not purchased her she would still be sick. I will never again shop. I will always adopt in the future.❤❤❤❤❤
We had a boy guinea pig and named him Cedric Piggory. Love that you named him after a Harry Potter character. My daughter Ashley is a huge Harry Potter fan!
Your rescue piggy reminds me of a friend's guinea pig named scout who was the same identical color pattern, yet he wasn't a kisser he was more of a cuddler. He would love the snuggle up to anyone who would pet him. Give him a pet. He will be your best friend forever
Such a handsome little piggie. Mr Longbottom. He could be from Pride and Prejudice! I have a single boy pig from a petshop right now but no friend for him yet because he was a little ill and I did not wish to pay if they were then both ill. But my little piggy should and I am ready to give another single a try, for him. But my piggy seems very ok with me and his reflection in the plastic boxes next to his cage!
Hi Neville! 💖NEVER TOO OLD for Harry Potter! I'm 61 and have loved the franchise since the first book. My oldest son is the same age as Harry/Daniel too. 🧙✨
Neville Longbottom !!!! OMG ,Scotty Hale you are my twice Fav person rn ..As a Potterhead myself lm stoked !!🧙🏻♂️and off course Neville loves plants and later became Prof of herbology ..so yeah piggys like green like Nev!
What a cute name for such a cute little piggy! And no, you’re not getting attached at all, lol. 😉 The Harry Potter series is my all time favorite series. They did an awesome job with the movies too. If you haven’t seen them yet, I highly recommend it 😊 As for Vitamin C, my girls’ favorite are peppers, by far. They also love the liquid vitamin C! The cookies, they could take them or leave them, but I have Urinary Support cookies that I got for Chloe and Zoe and they all love those 😂
The Oxbow vitamin C cookies in Australia cost between $19.99 and $25.99 Australian dollars. So that's $12,42 to $15.52 US dollars. We can order the Childlife Vitamin C from iherb for $16.97 AUD. As it is $20 to $25 in Australia online.
I live in the netherlands and I buy guinea pig vit c tablets from beaphar. They have 40mg per tablet and there 180 tabs in a jar for 10€ they love the taste and eat them like candy!
Try sprinkling some liquid C on their favourite vegetables and let it soak in for a few minutes before you give it to them. Then they'll get to like the taste of it 👍
Keep trying with the liquid, as I said, he teaches them to not fear the syringe. It's the best value in probably the most stable vitamin C you can find
Hi Neville Roundbottom! I didn't read Harry Potter at first then I got into it. Books on tape put me to sleep unfortunately. I am never sure if they are called cartridges or what: the books that go in the special Library of Congress machine Perkins uses. I much prefer large type even though I was self conscious at first reading them outside.
hi Scotty he is a little diamond l had to have gromit put to sleep he wasn't eating and I tried to get him to eat and drink the vet found a tumor in his mouth l couldn't let him suffer lm going to pieces l think your boy is very cute xx
I buy the Science selective at Southern Agriculture. I would prefer to buy the "cookies/treats" rather than the liquid because he squeals at me for the cookies! lol
There are numerous cookies that aren't vitamin C based. I prefer the small pet select healthy Snackers. There is a link down in the description for 15% off for new customers. Bang for the buck nothing compares to child Life liquid vitamin C.
@GuineaPigMania True! Manufacturers supposedly have it "stabilized" in the pellets but who knows how much is lost while transported ? We've had several recent issues with crystals in piggies' urine developing from too much vitamin C, and we only supplement one tab daily!! What?!?! Yes, it's a fine line to balance. Thank you for your post! 😍
@@Annie-z7l9o I made a comment but I'm not sure if it appeared so I'll post it on our thread ♡ I'd like to point out a few things. not to be rude or judgy but just incase you or me are confused or misled or smth. this is what I know... Saskia talked about with vitamin C, it disintegrates in sunlight. "Vitamin C is sensitive to light, especially UV light from sunlight, which can break it down over time. Exposure to direct sunlight can cause significant degradation, with more than 50% lost within a few hours in an aqueous solution, depending on light intensity, storage conditions, and environmental factors like heat and oxygen. While some vitamin C remains initially, prolonged exposure can reduce it to negligible levels. To preserve its potency, store vitamin C-rich foods or supplements in opaque, airtight containers in cool, dark places, and consume fresh produce quickly after cutting." SOURCES: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3167265/?utm_ ijcrcps.com/pdfcopy/feb2015/ijcrcps3.pdf?utm_ as stated in your video, each cookie (science select) has roughly 31.25 mg of vitamin C (estimated). a guinea pig needs 25mg-50mg of vitamin C daily. vitamin C breaks down quickly when exposed to light, heat, and oxygen. if 31.25 mg is left in direct sunlight, about half (15.6 mg) will be gone in 2-4 hours. after 8 hours, only about 7.8 mg will remain, and after 24 hours, almost all of it will have broken down. you can keep vitamin C more stable by storing it in a cool, dark, and airtight container but by the time you get your tablets, who knows how much is left, ya know? the bag is air tight but it's exposed to light for long period of time and who knows how much it takes to make and process. then storing it at home its likely already all gone by then. Saskia also mentioned that Child Life Vitamin C, or any vitamin C supplement, should only be given to sick piggies or those who need vitamin C. guinea pigs that eat a good routine of vitam c rich veggies as needed shouldn't need any supplement. ofc a treat is fine but moderation is key as you know. I appreciate this video though. it's definitely important.
Yes that is true, but we never know exactly how many pellets they are going to eat in a day. That's why I would recommend supplementing with 25 mg of vitamin C. As I mentioned green pepper is also a great choice.
Urine crystals can form and be painful from too much vitamin C. That's what our exotics vet has concluded after running multiple UAs on two of my piggies. 1 1/2 yr old female w/bloody urine and NO bacteria. Their vit c had us walking a fine line.
Sherwood Pet supplements & pellets have vit c and other supplements all containing Vit c. Anyone try these? The cranberry has really helped with my old girl's years of bladder sludge.
🐹NEWS FLASH. Y'ALL HAVE GOT TO HEAR ALL OF THIS! Oxbow pellets are not natural & they contain sugar cane (molasses) & Monocalcium Phosphate in which is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to cause STONES. Oxbow pellets is filled with additives & junk. Guinea pigs only need natural calcium only that they get from their hay & veggies. I switched my piggies to a 100% natural timothy hay pellet with no additives. They are homemade by a farmer. My piggies no longer have a bladder sludge issue since I left oxbow essential adult guinea pig food pellets
Please send me your research to the contact page on my website, and also feel free to link any studies you have here. Thank you for sharing your information.
Yes, in a couple of forums I had read credible commentary about this truth. And I read the ingredients on our oxbow bags. AND I've spoken with a nephrologist (kidney doc), urologist (bladder, urethra, ureter, whole system doc). Calcium is the culprit.
At risk of stirring debate ... I've read that piggies don't really need pellets. Just good crunchy hay. The softer the hay, the more sludge & molar probs tho. Comments?
I love it❣ He is so sweet❣Love you Neville💖💖💖
He’s so perfect! And how cute he eats the cookies ❤

Love the name!!! I wish I could take on more piggies, but I have 9.
