    I cannot express enough how much I love the Rode videomic stereo… I have been using it for at least six years at life shows and my own band practice for what it is. It really is awesome.

    The reason to cross them is to do with phase (timing of signals in each mic). If they are apart then the sound arrives at each mic at different times. This can actually be great because our ears are apart so an ORTF (spaced) mic pattern can sound more natural, but it won't mix down to mono well. The out of time signals will interfere producing distortion. If you're watching on a TV then you may be watching in mono depending on the TV.

    Nice review man but maybe just a device that I heard before that is nice to know too, when you speak, try to reduce or completely don't errr, it make the video less polished!
    But I need some advices from you too, if I want to document everyday, travel, UA-cam contents with behind and distance talk, want to move into game and music making too, I will get the Panasonic HC-X1500 camcorder 25-600mm F1.8-4 for video and Sony A7RV with 16-35mm F4 PZ mainly for photo, and audio gears I will get Sennheiser MKE 440, MKE 600, Line Audio CM4 and Deity HD-TX, are these good setup? I think better get either an actual pocketable RX100 VII camera or proper size A7RV camera since it provide better qualities and usabilities like unique 4 ways screen and also cameras in between of these sizes still need to carry in bag but I not sure should I reduce the projects I want to photograph like macro since we can just google them and let these specialists achieve them and I can just get an always with me RX100 VII? I hope there is a left handed camera so I can film on one hand and photograph on another when I want to, but I come up with the idea to film with DJI P3 when using A7RV and photograph with iPhone 15 when film with HC-X1500, good or there is alternative? I will use the MKE 440 stereo mic for video, MKE 600 shotgun mic to record elements for developments and CM4 pencil condenser for vocal and instruments and HD-TX as recorder but I not sure how to record my behind the camera commentary at same time, if I can just get one between MKE 600 and CM4 by extract mono track from one of the MKE 440 stereo mics if I don't have fully sound treated room and also if the recorder is right for me?

    Great video. I just got this havent used it yet but I need to use it in a loud venue such as a concert. Should I turn on high pass filter and set it to -10 as well as auto volume in my camera ? Is that the best way?

      Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I'd set the high pass filter to on and if what you're recording is very loud set the -10db switch too, to stop it clipping, I'd experiment with the in camera auto volume as well before you record a concert, just to be sure that they don't all work against one another to the detriment of the recording. 👍🤜🤘

    I wonder how it compares with using something like the Zoom H1

    • @DanielDebenham
      @DanielDebenham  Рік тому

      Not sure. It'll depend on the quality of mics used in the H1... Not forgetting that the H1 is a dedicated recorder so the amps, boards and codecs are all dedicated to sound and the Rode is essentially using the cameras recorder, compression etc. I suspect the H1 would be better though it might be tough to hear the difference outside of a proper audio test.

    Thank you. Which is better for a concert?

      I'd say the stereo mic over the video mic pro if I had to chose.

    vs sony a10 or d10 which better

      The Sony A10 /D10 aren't the same system as the Rodes. These are on camera mics. The Sony's are portable recorders. I wouldn't put them in a vs.

      I think the video mic x is the upgrade, or at the very least a more premium option.

    Ist das mic mit einer Panasonic hc v757 kompatibel ?

    • @DanielDebenham
      @DanielDebenham  2 роки тому +1

      That camera has a mic port so it's a standard one then yes, it should be compatible. 👍

    Could you recommend me a mic for techno events?

      I'm gonna be that guy: it's not a true Techno event if it's being recorded.

      I think it would be a good idea to hire one first if you can or see if a local camera shop will let you test it before buying. Just to make sure you get what you need. Cant say ive had any issues, however what's right for me might not be for you. 🤜👍💪
