    Practice questions are an amazing way to test your knowledge and how well you actually know the material but how do you learn the material first and understand it well ? What methods do you use ? (reviewing notes you took during lectures, rewriting your notes over and over, active recall…)

      Hi med student here! So we are given the lectures PowerPoints and when I watch the lecture I try to really focus on what they are saying and only take notes that are going to better help me learn the material (or note what they emphasized as important) I then ideally the same day but realistically within the next few try to go back over the PowerPoint and take my own version of the notes. I do my very best to not copy their words and to make sure I understand a concept before moving on. If I have any practice questions that are specific to that lecture I’ll go ahead and do those and review what I get wrong. By the time I finish I have a decent grasp on the material. From this point I do two things 1) when I’m simply studying I try to not look at my notes. I’ll try to in my head recall or write down what the topic was about and what details I can. I then go back and review what I forgot. 2) do every single practice question I can get my hands on and understand them. Ask yourself why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong. This is just how I do things and it is extremely different from person to person. Play around and find what works for you. A lot of my classmates do Anki and it works wonders for them, but for me personally, I felt like there was an imbalance between time and actual learning and I stopped. I hope this helps!

      This isn’t a healthy way but it works:
      Threaten yourself that you’ll be so stressed with all the work over load and allat in the near future if you don’t get things done asap, if you finish things now you’ll have more time to relax, just look at that time to relax
      You have to work on this thing well so you don’t have to waste more time revising it later
      Maybe try putting a timer for each task (plesseeee put more time than you think you’ll take so if the timer runs out you don’t feel drafted or disappointed or anything like that)

    • @alexaar4951
      @alexaar4951 8 місяців тому +1

      i think maybe setting some timers may help? for example setting an alarm/time for when you *must* start doing at least some work, and you can do this work in little intervals and work your way up! you could start at 10 min and then next time 20 min, and so on. and also make sure to have frequent 5-30 min breaks to rest your mind! ik that on windows theres a feature in the clock app called 'focus sessions' which really makes it more motivating to get things done! plus you can make a playlist for study music which may make studying more fun :) i also sometimes like to work in another room than my bedroom, or go to a library to do my work, because a different setting really clears my mind from distractions and gets me in the work mindset! i hope this helps at all, as it works for me. now that im thinking about this i should probably do my schoolwork too haha. but good luck i hope you are able to find a way that works for you!

      @@mxnna4895I was in Spanish 1 last year, and this year I’m taking French 1 because Spanish was full. I found that they’re really similar, the words are similar and you’re already familiar with conjugation. But(contrary to popular belief) Spanish is a lot harder than French, especially verbs. If you had good grades in French then I think you’d do fine if you moved up a bit in spanish(if you’re fine with being average/bs-low as), but if you were just avg(b’s-low a’s) then you should probably stay at beginners, it really depends on your prior knowledge and how fast you’re able to pick up a language. I have physics degrees and here how I am able to get them. I graduated high school in 2012 so I'm a bit older and I had to drop out when I was younger. I came back and finally finished in 2021. Get chegg for your homework physics because the homework has nothing to do with the exam. It doesn't make sense to spend 3-5 hours on homework that won't help you. Read all your materials first, I hate reading because I have ADD so I got myself speechify and listened to the chapters when I am eating, walking to class or working out. Ask for practice exams and do them over and over until the exam date. STEM classes are not hard if you figure out the system.

    Tip #5: Grade Inflation

  • @RosefieldXII
    @RosefieldXII 6 місяців тому +11

    That’s how I used to study when I was in middle school, my first year in the States. Also my first actual academic when I first received my eyeglasses after leaving a very abusive household. I never gets anything above D’s in elementary, not for the lack of trying. I remembered taking entrance exam at a prestigious elementary school just to prove their point that I’m stupid and retarded. I’ve addressed my problem for my poor eyesight, everything is super blurry ever since I was a child. But because of my parents history and I’m just ‘couch surfing’ as they put it, they wouldn’t want to spend a penny more on a child that’s it’s not theirs. Moving forward, the family that took me in, is very generous and it takes times to get used to changing environments. I’ve excelled at school with A’s and B’s, though my study methods and organization needs some work. Seeing how easy the school was for me, they request to place me in more advanced classes. Here’s the thing, I’ve never, ever, taken any basic nor do I have any knowledge of it, due to my past experience. Like getting put in for Advanced Geometry, or Advanced Literature, or any of that when I never taken basic course of it. It was very challenging and the only things goes through my mind was ‘If I failed, they may send me back to that hellhole’. At the end, I’ve managed to maintain Bs average. They look very disappointed cause now they couldn’t brag about me to their family and friends. But what they failed to see is, TES and TAS considered my enrollment if it weren’t for the citizenship, cause of the essay I’ve wrote. Coming from someone who never ever taken basic English, nor writing and grammar classes, for someone with that caliber to write and being considered? That’s says something about what someone is capable of, about me, although now this sound’s narcissistic 😂. Now that I’m older, I’m not care too much about school. I’m focusing more about my career in the Service. Now that I’ve seen this shorts, you may inspired me to get back into school. Maybe taking college classes at a time while having a career in the Military.
