- Ferrets are obligate carnivores, meaning they receive all essential nutrients from animal sources. Ferrets easily imprint on food they grow up on as a kit, so it's best to start your kit on a balanced raw diet as soon as you can!

I've tried every single one of these things. This didn't help. It's been 2 years. She will not even TRY one single bite or even lick. I officially give up.
Loved this video! I can't wait for more ferret content😆
I'm so glad Skye and Enzo were brought up on raw, but boy are they feisty when their young!😂 Gotta keep their pitless stomachs as full as possible🤣😅
Thank you! And gosh it's so true, I don't think there's been a time yet where Choji saved food for later, he's bottomless!
Dont even have a ferret just love your videos
Same, not do I have a desire to adopt one. my two rabbits are a handful. 😂
Aw, thank you haha!
I like how your videos are even; you do a good video for each of your pets :)
Love this and couldn't come at a better time with my new baby kit :D
Perfect!
Great videos, keep up the good work👍
Thank you so much!
So adorable!
Please make a video of where you buy your whole prey for you ferrets!! Your content is very informative & helpful!
I've observed captive otters and noted that given the chance, they will almost always eat chicken rather than fish because it tastes better despite this not being their natural diet. This _unless_ they're allowed to actually hunt and work for the fish themselves - then they absolutely want the fish!
I think pet ferrets might also be more apt to eating whole prey if they were allowed to do the chasing and killing themselves.
Thinking of getting a ferret
you mentioned stella and chewy's and i was wondering! would you be willing to do a review/ranking of different freeze dried raw diets for cats that are appropriate for ferrets? we feed stella's to our boys right now, but i'd love to hear you talk about other options!
I have a raw food review video! Most raw foods for cats are fine for ferrets as well. Primal does contain veggies and fruit which I don't love though, even for cats. ua-cam.com/video/2Cyn1XR2s8s/v-deo.html
Can you do a vid on sodium requirements for dogs/cats pls?
Sometimes we'll forget to close the cage and I see them run through the house with there head in the air like "EXCUSE ME GIRLS WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH THAT?"
Also we actually found (since they tip plates too) a lixit bird bath that we thought looked oddly like an edged plate so who cared what we used it for 👀 parrots are intended to drink out of it sometimes so we figure safe to eat out of but it bolts right into the bars it's great.
I wish I could get a carnivorous slinky but they’re illegal in my state :(
Great video.. I shared it to some ferret groups.
I was thinking earlier..
When I tell people I give my cat kefir or goats milk for the probiotic benefit a couple times a week.. Everyone always says “You shouldn’t do that coz cats are lactose intolerant” which is true… And I have to explain that goat milk has smaller lactose particles and the bacteria eat the lactose.
Could you make a video explaining this? and the benefits of feeding unpasteurised milk and kefir.. Debunk some of myths around the topic. ? 🥛🐶🐱
Aw thanks I appreciate you sharing it! I usually only suggest giving kefir because of the probiotic benefits. The fermentation basically destroys most if not all of the lactose regardless of what animal it came from. When it comes to raw goats milk, it does contain less lactose, but it does still have some. If I have raw goats milk I usually just make kefir with it.
I cant cut a full pray, I fell so bad, is there any other way??
hiii just wanting some help! is only chicken ground suitable for ferrets? i’m wanting to get a ferret but am stressing about what to feed them. i cant really oder food or meal preps so i want to know what’s sage to feed them that i can purchase from my small town
Thank you for making this video ☺️
I'm staying near st. Michaels MD at the moment and I'm going to a Amish market and maybe a farmer's market. I might get some cuts and I was wondering if there's other markets that you know of besides farmer markets?
Aw cool! Just asian markets and other international markets in the area that sell raw meats
@@PawsofPrey thank you! :)
I haven't been to a Amish market in a long time, so can't wait to go! ❤️
@@PawsofPrey so, update on the meat!
I got some free ground up chicken with bone (just muscle meat) but I also got chicken back, liver, heart and tail for 5 dollars. But I was missing the second secreting organ. Today I found some lamb kidney and veal.
She is missing some things but in all it was around 6-7 dollars for everything.
I also did find caviar but it was soaked in wine :(
But overall, it was cheap to find everything and is possible.
Where I normally live, it's hard to find cuts like these and are way more expensive. Normally being around 10-20 dollars compared to 7.
When I go back home, I'm going to look harder next time.
Where would we find whole prey to buy?
Hello I'm trying to figure out how many times day and how mucj i should feed my ferret please help out and without rats just raw meat or ground
Where's the platter from ? I've been looking for something like that for a while 👀
I got it from Target!
I live in Canada, Ontario and those soups to first start the little guy on the diet aren’t available here. Is there anything you would recommend to make the soup or another brand to try? I have no idea what i’m doing and really want to switch my little guy to the best lifestyle possible. :(
Montreal here its so hard I found some brands but for onboarding them they are not as easy.
One of my ferrets just took to eating raw foods naturally. After doing the nose thing. But she is always the most adventurous.
Can you do a video on how you get an older ferret to eat raw. Our rescue ferret will not eat raw whatsoever
Wondering if you could do something on hedgehogs perhaps 🤔
I do have a few hedgehog videos :)
@@PawsofPrey I had no idea. I'll do my research tomorrow. Thanks 😊
The ferret eats more than my dogs lol
LOL
