What are your strategies and tips, if any? I'd LOVE to hear what you have to say about this :)
@@RC-vt5bz I use PP plastic containers of 1300ml ( they are bpa free and able to put in the freezer). I bough from amazon a 200l freezer and a industrial grinder that is able to grind chicken bones. My tactic is as follows: Today i go and buy chicken legs and liver (as example). I smash the bones with a mallet and grind them. Next i grind the livers and arrange my containers on the table. Each container feeds 20 cats a meal and i feed them twice a day. I prefer to ration for each meal instaid of per day because each meal is as fresh as posible. I put in each container the proper amount of chicken and liver (as per recipe), stick a lable with C + L (from Chicken and Liver) so i know this is what i put in and store them in the freezer. Next day or whenever i have another 3-4 hours free, i go and buy the kidneys and beef. And again, i grind them, put them in the containers, write on the labe K and B (kidney and beef) and store them again. The containers stay so little time on the table that the meat i have in them doesnt get to deforst at all so all good from that point too. And i do that with all the ingredients. I usualy use : Chicken, beef, beef liver, kidney, spleen; or Chicken, pork, chicken liver, kidney, spleen; and Chicken, beef, porc, beef liver, chicken liver, kidney and spleen. The 3 meats, 2 livers recipe is the most complete in vitamins but since i rotate each recipe per week they balance very well. This type of meal prep is less stressfull because you only have to prep 2 meats, it takes 2-3 hours for 3 weeks of meals and you dont have many left overs since you can buy the exact amount that you need. Also it helps if for some reason you dont find livers that day, its no big deal, you buy kidneys or whatever else its missing in the containers. The meat its only frozen and deforezen once so less chances of the cats rejecting the meal because it smells or tasts funny from being manipulated too many times.

I've watched several of your videos and there's some great information. I'd like to start this with my dog, but to be honest, doing this seems to be a bit on the expensive side especially when you start factoring in things like pork loin, pasture raised eggs, etc. What would a meal like you did in this video cost approximately? I'll try to look into pricing more myself, but not having fed my dog this stuff before, I'm not quite sure how much he would need on a daily basis, so it's hard to estimate price.
Thank you for all the helpful educational content. My dog has been on a commercial raw diet (viva raw, “human grade” for a while while I am learning how to DIY. She also gets an annual fecal parasite exam. But recently we found out she has worms!!! She is an indoor only dog. I am hesitant to go back to feeding raw. Should raw feeders be giving a dewormer? Do you have tips on how I can feed a PMD but lightly cooked/sanitized? Thank you! feeling discouraged.😢

Awesome video vlog Mariah and thank you. I have never been a pet owner but am getting a dog in a couple of months and excited to raw feed, have been acquiring a lot of the recommendations and bought a large freeze to accomodate. PS: one video I always seem to have a problem finding is the best type of raw snacks. I know it is dog/animal specific to their nutrition but maybe a list of snacks, treats and the like especially for training would help me. Thank you for your work.❤
You also have vit k2 in liver & meats which is vital to understand. K2 sends Vit D to the right places in the body & keeps it out of the vascular system...
Hello! I am new to your channel and really enjoying all the information packed videos! Kindly elaborate that if we chose beef instead of pork, since I live in a Muslim country pork is not available, what nutrients would I be missing out on and what can I add to balance out the difference, even if I have to go above 6 ingredients? I would be super grateful for your reply. Thank you! ❤!
I just discovered your channel. How would it be to make freeze ahead meals for a 4lb dog using the balanced approach? I am thinking I could add a raw egg on occasion once it’s thawed.
My Akita has started losing weight he's 10 years old and although I don't feed him raw, I do cook his turkey on the raw side, he has not been absorbing his nutrients lately and has been losing weight. I'm trying to remedy this after my veterinary visit didn't really seem to help. Any suggestions?
This was incredibly helpful! I am in the same boat especially new to raw feeding and starting out with my new pug puppy! This will help tons with her until i get started and more comfortable. I was a little overwhelmed. When I brought home beef kidney I did find beef heart and cutting it up. Kind of made me grossed out. Lol but I'm going to still try it and give it my honest effort because I know that's what's best for her. ❤
Your videos are usually great. This one was truly a masterpiece. Most people don't have the time to truly source all the things you usually mention nor funds. This was possibly the most helpful. You should include a super low budget video. Things like off cut pieces of meat etc. We have 2 boerboels. That is way too expensive to feed muscle meats. We feed more muscular organs but are still too scared to go off kibbel completely. Thus far, we've managed green tripe, intestines, hearts, liver, kidneys, chicken stomachs, chicken heads feet and necks. We even get super cheap offcuts from our grocery stire but that is lots of fat and some leftover organs. But muscle meat will break the bank. Any thoughts? Maybe we need to add a multivitamin as well. We can also render some fat for cooking lard or to put in out bokashi bucket for the garden too.
Awh, well thank you so much! I do suggest feeding a bit more muscle meat. The variety of muscular organs you can feed is great! But muscle meat really should be a decent bulk of the diet. And please only feed fat raw! Cooked fat has high chance of causing pancreatitis.
I don't cook anything. Muscle meat is very pricy for us, nevermind for the large dogs. But, I'm looking into pork. Still gonna be a sometimes food. But we do our best😅😊
thank you for this! trying to learn as much as i can for my kitty! question: could this recipe be applied for cats? if not, what do you recommend as substitutions?
Aww! Your so pretty ! So happy to see your face! Your so awesome to provide this information to us! Your always so helpful and I'm so thankful for you! 🙏❤
Mariah as usual I love your voice especially in voice overs on your videos. Please please make one for cats. I don’t mind adding supplements at all but I just cannot seem to find kidney and especially spleen here in Western Washington but I’ll keep trying. And I’m also trying to use a spreadsheet and even if I get ingredients in the minimum requirements green area it always looks like it’s still unbalanced
Hi there! As a desperate mom of my nine year old mixed breed dog (Pekingese+Spitz) suffering from Urinary Tract Disease (bladder stone). Now I am clueless about How to feed him the Raw food diet. can you please advice, heartily appreciated.
I have an 8 lb. Pom who eats very quickly. He has all his teeth but barely chews his food. He practically swallows chicken necks whole. I'm afraid he will choke on them. I have been sprinkling his food with a pinch of egg shell and add bone broth to his food. Is that sufficient? What do you suggest for getting bones ( or substitutes) into toy breed diets?
My friend has a pasture raised, grass fed veal meat, liver, brain, spleen… that i would like to get for my dog. I was just wondering if veal is lacking some vitamins and minerals that beef has? Should i just get veal parts or wait till he has beef as well? P.s. great video Mariah And thank you for your help😊
I’m wanting to start adding these kinds of food for my cat , but I know he won’t eat big pieces of food, plus he never eats his wet food which is a small amount all at onceI just added some bits of sardines he loved it, but it might be hours before he goes to plate to finish how would that work with raw meats ? Cricket
I have some questions... I have a hard time getting my dogs to eat different textures so I end up grinding everything up together to get them to eat and I noticed you don't grind anything and you put everything as it is on the plate. How did you get your dog to start eating that in addition to your cat?
I really enjoyed this video, it gives me some good ideas, but that seems like an awful lot of food for a Corgie? I've been weighing my GSD's meals since I started last week and her 2.5 - 3 lb meals are about what you showed. Am I missing something?
The meal in this video was for a dog that needs about 1,000 calories! I just made it that way to be more general. My corgi eats about 500-600 calories (~8-10 oz a day)
Any suggestions to get my dog to take his time and chew raw bones before he swallows them? I have a Shih-tzu. He hardly chews on chicken wings and necks. He just wants to swallow them
Remember that dogs didn't evolve eating a mixed diet every day. I give my dog a very varied diet, but I don't mix his proteins too much and try to stick to meat from a single species in a single meal. For example if the muscle meat is lamb or mutton, then I'll try and stick with offal from a sheep (liver, heart, kidney). Same with beef and chicken.
Thanks! I used to feed my dogs tofu with other raw meat. I don't replace tofu with animal meats. It just makes my dog full, fun and hydrate. Can you make some videos about tofu? Or any opinions about feeding tofu?
I use the pre-mix EZ Complete and have the commercial Viva Raw food delivered to make sure my cat's raw meat is easy and complete but I really love watching your videos. This channel along with a few TikTok pages have really helped transformed my cats diet. :)
Though I'm terrible with math I think you have the best videos and I Appreciate the content you put out!! I have a question what do you use as a flea intake preventative do you use one or do you use natural I tried to use natural products but my dog ended up getting fleas and now has a tape worm. He was already on interceptor plus in the summer months which now is summer when it's warm like I use the interceptor plus although it says it gets rid of tapeworm I'm still seeing tapeworm eggs even after defleeing him And my houseMy vet prescribed drontsl plus on top of what he's already on interceptor plus I don't Know how safe that is since they are both claim to get rid of the same things? I don't have a vet that believes in natural or raw feeding ! what do you think?
can i substitute quail eggs for pasture raised chicken eggs? i have also been using balut as well. i like your vlog format and can't believe you can pick up green tripe just like that at the store
Absolutely brilliant challenge that you created here. I think this will go a long way to encourage people to take up feeding whole nutritious food instead of commerial pet food. Thank you for all the content you put out. Its been a great help to me, especially when i took the plunge and began to make my own food. I am going to buy your spread sheet at the weekend, its so tedious sourcing the info and doing the maths the way ive been doing it. I REALLY appreciate you selling that vital tool for a reasonable price....its going to be a game changer for me. It makes a nice change to see you too. 🙂
I would love to find turkey necks. My dog is highly sensitive to chicken and beef. Lower sensitivity to pork, lamb and salmon! So what organs do I feed 😢 I'm so confused
Meat in various vareties and organs has most of the nutrition your pet needs add in some eggs, sardines, and your largely going to be good. I add a bit of mag and salt and on occasion some potasium. Organs like liver is where most carnivores get their minerals and vitamins. I like green tripe on occasion as well to mimic nature.
Just discovered your awesome channel... That I think deserves more attention than it's getting right now. Thanks... Will share your channel. My dogs have been on raw since they were 3-mth-old puppies. Reason for raw-feeding... I lost my heart dog to nasal adenocarcinoma seven years ago. She was on a highly processed diet. It was a very painful lesson.
I have a 3 year old female boxer (fixed) and want to feed raw. She’s 60 lbs now, and in perfect weight for her size. How many calories should I feed her a day?
I’m pretty new here but love the content!!! Is there a video I’ve missed than provides total amount needed per pound of dogs healthy weight? I got (from her videos) ratios of organ meat, bones, etc.
I don't really suggest feeding any one recipe or commercial food long term. That's just my personal preference! Providing nutrients through different whole foods is what I believe is ideal. Who knows, maybe an ingredient you're feeding isn't as nutritious as we currently think, or maybe a specific meaty bone isn't as high in calcium as we initially thought. Maybe the zinc is too high in that one recipe and it makes it harder for the body to absorb iron and copper (nutrient ratios are also something to keep an eye on, at least over time) I'm not saying you can't, but I will always advocate for rotation! Makes things less stressful I think lol
Oh my gosh its so good to see you!! Hi mariah!! Thank you for all of your help over these years in my research to making my raw feeding better and better! :) May I ask we please have a cat recipe for this as well? I don't own a dog myself so a kitty version would really help out if you can manage it! Thank you for all you do!

I have a question, usually when I research me to feed my dog to get started on a raw diet, it is usually said that meat from chain grocery stores might not be good because they’re not meant to be consumed raw. However in your video you said that you went to a chain grocery store, Can I know what that store is? And is it really true that raw meat at chain grocery stores would be harmful because of the amount of bacteria that are in it that are not meant to be consumed raw. I don’t have access to a local butcher so a chain grocery store or Asian grocery stores are all I have
Chain grocery store meat is fine to feed! It’s best if you can get pasture raised or free range meats but anything safe for human consumption is usually fine for your pet!
This was great! What was the name of the pet store you went to? Do they have online shopping? That chart of nutrients you were using…is it online where you can plug in the amount of whatever you’re using and it tells you what you’ve met?
It's Earth Pets, but unfortunately they don't ship :( greentripe.com texastripe.com rawfeedingmiami.com topqualitydogfood.com and mypetcarnivore.com do! The brand I got from my pet store is by K9 Kravings. They have a map where they sell here: www.k-9kraving.com/store-locations/
Would be interested in seeing a video that goes in depth about nutrient relationships and how to achieve the optimal ratios with specific foods, supplements etc 💜

Do I need to freeze fresh meat from the store for one week before serving, or is it okay to serve the store brought meat without freezing it first?
This was very helpful. I haven't started the raw diet but this check off a lot concerns...
Is it taboo to give your dogs the egg whites (protein) as well?
Is freeze dried green tripe ok to use instead of raw?
Is freeze-dried green tripe worth feeding to our pups?
Love your videos! Thank you for all the great info.
Hay Mariah, do you have recommendations on raw feeding with picky eaters?
awesome, I've been feeding raw for 6 years and looking to inprove my recipe, thank you. I;m now following you
thank you for this! trying to learn as much as i can for my kitty! question: could this recipe be applied for cats? if not, what do you recommend as substitutions?
does raw goat milk cover vitamin D and calcium? I add raw goat milk to my dogs freeze dry raw food for breakfast, They love it.
Aww! Your so pretty ! So happy to see your face! Your so awesome to provide this information to us! Your always so helpful and I'm so thankful for you! 🙏❤
Thank you!!
Thank You so much for this information very helpful 😊🐶
Mariah as usual I love your voice especially in voice overs on your videos. Please please make one for cats. I don’t mind adding supplements at all but I just cannot seem to find kidney and especially spleen here in Western Washington but I’ll keep trying. And I’m also trying to use a spreadsheet and even if I get ingredients in the minimum requirements green area it always looks like it’s still unbalanced
Thank you so much!! And yes it can sometimes be tough to make meals meet everything perfectly depending on the ingredient's you can source
Hi there! As a desperate mom of my nine year old mixed breed dog (Pekingese+Spitz) suffering from Urinary Tract Disease (bladder stone).
Now I am clueless about How to feed him the Raw food diet. can you please advice, heartily appreciated.
thanks for sharing. ever feed spirulina?
I have an 8 lb. Pom who eats very quickly. He has all his teeth but barely chews his food. He practically swallows chicken necks whole. I'm afraid he will choke on them. I have been sprinkling his food with a pinch of egg shell and add bone broth to his food. Is that sufficient? What do you suggest for getting bones ( or substitutes) into toy breed diets?
You can grind the bones in a food grinder or get a premade raw blend with the bone included!
Thanks for making a simple recipe for us to try! These videos are really helping me understand raw better
Veal organs are relatively similar to adult beef organs, so yep they're just fine to feed!
Have you hear about keto diet for dog?thank you
Would this work for a 60 lb Carolina Dog/American Dingo???
I use the pre-mix EZ Complete and have the commercial Viva Raw food delivered to make sure my cat's raw meat is easy and complete but I really love watching your videos. This channel along with a few TikTok pages have really helped transformed my cats diet. :)
What do you think of EZ Complete mix?
Could all these nutrients be met with whole rabbits? Part of feeding raw is mimicking prey animals right? If not, what would be missing?
Fantastic and thorough content
can i substitute quail eggs for pasture raised chicken eggs? i have also been using balut as well. i like your vlog format and can't believe you can pick up green tripe just like that at the store
Thanks! Yeah I'm glad I can! And you could, but you'd need a bit more yolks!
Awww, well that's really sweet thank you, I'm so happy it's helpful :)
Isn't iodine in salt? Or is salt bad for dogs?
Thank you for the info and thank you for this Video it was really helpful 👍
How do I know how much nutrients to add when on a barf diet when I have a very large dog?
Hey I was wondering if I had to deworm my pup cause he’s on a raw diet and if so how often ?
How much did that cost?
Just discovered your awesome channel... That I think deserves more attention than it's getting right now. Thanks... Will share your channel. My dogs have been on raw since they were 3-mth-old puppies. Reason for raw-feeding... I lost my heart dog to nasal adenocarcinoma seven years ago. She was on a highly processed diet. It was a very painful lesson.
I have a 3 year old female boxer (fixed) and want to feed raw. She’s 60 lbs now, and in perfect weight for her size. How many calories should I feed her a day?
How much of the green tripe did you add?
I’m pretty new here but love the content!!! Is there a video I’ve missed than provides total amount needed per pound of dogs healthy weight? I got (from her videos) ratios of organ meat, bones, etc.
Thanks for all the helpful tips! If this meal is balanced why do you recommend not feeding it long term?
I don't really suggest feeding any one recipe or commercial food long term. That's just my personal preference! Providing nutrients through different whole foods is what I believe is ideal. Who knows, maybe an ingredient you're feeding isn't as nutritious as we currently think, or maybe a specific meaty bone isn't as high in calcium as we initially thought. Maybe the zinc is too high in that one recipe and it makes it harder for the body to absorb iron and copper (nutrient ratios are also something to keep an eye on, at least over time)
I'm not saying you can't, but I will always advocate for rotation! Makes things less stressful I think lol
Love this video! I'm just starting the journey to get my fur babes onto raw diets.
Whats the brand of the green tripe that you buy
Oh my gosh its so good to see you!! Hi mariah!! Thank you for all of your help over these years in my research to making my raw feeding better and better! :) May I ask we please have a cat recipe for this as well? I don't own a dog myself so a kitty version would really help out if you can manage it! Thank you for all you do!
You're so welcome! My cat videos never do half as good as dog, so more kitty owners really need to learn about the benefits of raw!
@@PawsofPreyI love the cat videos! A simple cat recipe would be amazing but cats are not simple so not sure if there is one lol. Too bad about the lower viewership with the cat videos ..Love my cat and yes I think people just feed kibble. They don't even understand about raw.
@@PawsofPrey I couldn't agree more! In my opinion raw makes even MORE sense to feed cats, so I'm not sure why it's not more commonplace! My cat absolutely thrives and her teeth look incredible!
Which nutrient calculator are you using?
Can I scramble eggs in coconut oil for my dog instead?
Hi there, can you do a balanced meal idea for a small yorkie around 8 pounds?
It's Earth Pets, but unfortunately they don't ship :(
greentripe.com texastripe.com rawfeedingmiami.com topqualitydogfood.com and mypetcarnivore.com do!
The brand I got from my pet store is by K9 Kravings. They have a map where they sell here: www.k-9kraving.com/store-locations/
Would be interested in seeing a video that goes in depth about nutrient relationships and how to achieve the optimal ratios with specific foods, supplements etc 💜
I actually did a livestream on this for the Paws of Prey Club!
Your videos and web page are great sources of information. Fun watching you "geek" out! I think I saw some smoke coming from out your ears from the gears grinding away on this one. LOL! Your Dog Meal Formulator is well worth the money! Thank you for putting this all together. 👍
Aw I appreciate that so much, thank you!
Awesome work, I am currently going animal based myself, then I was thinking I should do the same for my dog
@pawsofprey what about fibre?
Thank you..this helps👍
Wonderful to see you!!! You’re so beautiful!
Love you! Love your videos! Love your mission! ❤❤❤
Also! Why am I so excited to see that you also shop at Publix for your pets just like me 💁♀️
lol!! Well thank you!
