I don’t hate looking out over a hood, but I’m definitely not used to it anymore. I owned a Kenworth K100 cabover and could really appreciate not having a hood😂
I bought 2 of these trucks for my company and im completely happy with them, no problems at all.. we service ours in our shop using amsoil kits.. 120$ each for 8 quarts w/filter, we change it every 10k miles, filters every 20k.. i haven't noticed any oil burning, our trucks are used for oilfield work.. ✌️
If you do your oil changes yourself…Try Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP (Dexos2 rated oil) that GM recommends for the C8 Corvette’s LT2 engine. The heavier 40 weight might help a little bit with consumption especially when working that engine hard. 0W40 > 5W30 in some cases.
Good to see the video from you .supper weather...and understand that long hood ...I'm very short ,.so I use a cushion....in my Chevy...hope you and your crew..and family have a wonderful Thanksgiving...looks like storms coming in..stay safe!!
We wish you a wonderfully warm and happy Thanksgiving! With all the hard work you do for your family and for your community, have a blessed holiday season! 🥰😎
Great review. I currently have a 2020 f250 lariat with the 7.3 and 10 speed. Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues with my ford. I’m hoping after all the parts they just ordered fixes the issue and be good to go. Unfortunately if not then I’ll be looking into a gmc or Chevy.
@@gmfan6029 i actually just got rid of the truck. I went back to a diesel and a ford f350. It was a good truck after the repairs. My needs have changed and a diesel meets those needs.
I was looking at the XTs for my 16 F350 the Nitto EXO grapplers I usually buy are not available. I have Nokian Rockproof they are a bit noisy. Here in Western BC the price of PVC has doubled. Earlier this year 4 inch Perf and solid was really hard to get. Septic tanks they were backordered for months. I'm not a Chev man they do ride nice they are tough on tires. The company I work for has a 08 3500 reg cab srw duramax. The visibility in that truck isn't the best. Diesel fuel out here is 2.49 a litre.
I had to laugh when you said, "These trucks work their butts off, they don't must get driven to Tim Horton's." Canadiana at it's best. An advertising slogan that would be understood from coast to coast to coast.
I recieved a 2022 2500 gmc service body for work. So far it’s been great. With the body on it. Welder and tools in the Back it rides so nice. Brakes are great. Here in New England with all the potholes I prefer the IFS on the road. Only a couple negatives. The pro level steering wheel is horrible. The steering is heavy and of course the hood is ridiculous. I get in my tundra after work and it’s almost like driving a cab over truck compared to the gmc with the visibility. I’m used to it though. I would definitely consider one in a higher trim level as a personal truck in the future. That being said. The 19’ tundra has 50k on it so it won’t be for a while. 😂
Always enjoy your videos and always seems funny, as in seen on tv, when I meet you or one of your trucks down your way. Keep them coming when you have time.
That engine and transmission combo is the reason I bought the gasser model in my 2022 chevy 2500HD model. That engine has an iron block with a forged crank and rods. Which basically makes it bullet proof. The 6L90E transmission is good for 700hp as well and it's only dealing with 401hp. That alone makes the transmission bullet proof as well. So I'm expecting many happy miles from current owners including myself. The oil consumption he's seeing could be from a host of reasons, but I don't think any of them will shorten the lifespan of that engine.
its very nice and like the review, its made me to believe that I do not need the expensive diesel . A guy needing to tow part time , this is the deal. I have a 35 ft travel trailer and loaded will be about 9500 . so this would do the job , thanks
Where is 2018 GMC 3500 gas with a 60 and we towed really heavy with it but a few times and when we traded in the truck the brake pads were still just fine and it was over 100 K miles
I have a 21' 2500HD Duramax with the stock sized 275/70R18 with the Destination XTs on it as well. Living in Idaho, I've been impressed with the winter performance of these tires so far. I do wish I would have gone to 35s, but having stock 18" wheels and width, I didn't want to compromise towing stability by changing tire sizes. What has been your exp running 35 12.50s on stock wheels when towing?
I get good life out a Bridgestone Duravis M700`s on a 2016 GMC 6.0L gas, 60% towing. Had to do the breaks at 140,000. I put all commercial spec breaks on this time.
I agree with you on the hood , I’m tall and I raise the seats still it’s definitely a blind spot. I’m concerned about the oil consumption though my truck used two qts of oil in 5k miles so I check the oil regularly. Other than that no problems but I only have 30k on truck.
I thought in one of your previous reviews about the GMC you stated that the seats are not comfortable, specifically in one specific spot where they feel thin or a pressure point? But in this video you said they are Comfortable ?
I am hearing alot of stuff in Canada is in shortage mode. I am in Texas and most things are available so far since I have seen. Some things hard to get..like certain brands of appliances....but EVERYTHING is much higher in price.
Sad fact of every chevy ive ever seen or owned, they all burn oil no matter how well kept or how low of miles or kilometers. My advice? Lucas oil stabilizer in with every change. Better oil pressure and made the oil burning in my ol 5.3 tahoe with 215k on it virtually nothing between changes now. Its some great stufd
That GMC 6.6 gasser is a direct injection motor which means regular oil changes are critical to its longevity! Trade that thing in on a F-350 7.3 V8 with the STX FX-4 , 4.30 geared 10 speed like my rig! You won’t look back at that GMC oil burning turd again ! My truck has burnt zero oil in 15 K miles ! My truck is rated to tow 20K pounds gooseneck & 15K bumper 4300 Lbs payload ! It’s insane for a gasser !

I love to hear when trucks hold up under rough conditions. I would love for you to run some Toyo AT3’s. Hope all is well.

@@anthonyc993 I get it. I went from 8.1l to a duramax and would never by gas for towing

Hey Boss ,
Great review on the pickup. I’m glad it’s working hard for you that what matters .

I’m the same not one has my loyalty; I choose as I go; needs and feel etc..
I appreciate you trying out so many different tires. Wondering what is your current favorite?

I was thinking to my self….I’ll mention about cranking the seat up…..AND low and behold! You mentioned it at the end Tyson 😁! ❤️🇦🇺🇨🇦
I figured you must be awful busy since we hadn't seen anything for a few days.
With all this truck talk you've got me missing my old Ford pickup. 😥

Good information for people that are looking for a new vehicle as a work vehicle. You are very busy person congratulations
I've always wondered how the 6.6 gas would hold up

Wow, I've never had a GM truck burn oil but I've never run them as hard as you do yours.
My 2014 5.3 used to burn oil too, never did find out why and it never gave me a concern either. But it was weird

Great. Much better all around
@@workplaytv why do all these hd have the check engine lights on? Is that a common issue with the diesels.
was that Tim Horton's joke a shot at ken white construction? if so i laughed

Yes overtime there is one spot where the metal goes through but overall very comfortable
Good video brother and informative. Glad to see the Diamond C is back in use. What size and type of tires are on the 450?
265s
Michelin xde2+

Very common for GM to burn oil..result of direct injection.
Most people install catch cans
