Hi. Thank you for sharing your yummy eats. I love redbean bun! In the USA in a lot of Asian markets and cafes we have these red bean breads available for purchase. Especially in Japanese and Korean cafes and markets.
A friend of mine lived in Japan for 13 years. Sailor who became a citizen and married a Japanese national after his enlistment ended, had a few kids. But the whole family moved to the USA so the kids could have better educational opportunities. I'm not Japanese and am only going off what he told me, but it sounds like you only get to go to school for what the government thinks you're good at, not for what you want to do. So forcing people into careers they don't like...yeah. No wonder the population is almost unilaterally depressed.
I've always liked the Japanese 7/11's as they are lot different to the 7/11's outside of Japan. Thankfully, 7/11 have recently announced they will be bringing their stores more in line with Japan, so we should start to see more Japanese foods. I'm not sure how extensive this will be, but looking forward to see what they offer and I hope we get items like this curry bread.
I will be visiting Japan and hope to eat at 711. The tour costs so much, I think I will watch my budget. Most of the cost of tour will be spent on airline ticket, hotel and tour companies. The service workers will get very little of my spending.😢
if you where not alone at home at the lunch time, which cool japan man make videos for us to watch. you give us happines brother keep doing your thing and let never ever someone tell you how to do things
When i visited Japan last year the food cost was one of the things i was most shocked by. I could go out and spend less than $8 on a full meal with drinks included. That same meal in the US would've probably cost me close to $25 dollars. It was crazy
In Australia, I can only afford to eat one meal a day (dinner) which I have in the city on my long trek home from work (1.5 hours). That costs me about $30 Australian (2,849 Japanese Yen). I work in a professional IT management role.
That's $210 a week my man. I know things have gone up in Aus, but $210 at Woolworths if you have any basic cooking skills would easily provide you with enough for lunch/dinner meals (coffee, or a box of cereal for breakfast is all ya need anyway). I get it's hard after a long commute... But you can prep four meals at a time so you're only cooking every second day. Loads of recipes on the net for those budgeting. Get a slow cooker even, throw everything in the pot in the morning, come home to a gorgeous hot dinner and take the rest for lunch the next day.
Hey @askjapan I live in Connecticut, it is a northeast state in USA. It has a very high average cost of living and on average I spend about 11.00$ USD for a lunch meal if I am buying from the Hospital I work at. If I were to prepare my meal at home I may spend as little as 8.00$ USD. Groceries for 1 month tend to cost around 200-400$ USD to last one month. Average rent where I live is 900-1500$ USD.

Missing the pastries in Japan. Every time I take a vacation there I buy famichiki or bento for lunch. Food is relatively cheap. Bro some Japanese husbands want to be alone and are are lonely. It must be getting common. Love the Streetfighter game💪🏻
Living in tokyo, i discovered the 99 yen shop and went there a lot. Now i live in Toronto and i also lived in italy for 8 years. I don't ever have a proper lunch. I usually get a latte and maybe a snack that i brought from home like carrots and some nuts and cheese, or salad, or a protein bar. Then i go home and eat more salad, but in japan i would get things to eat on the way home that are discounted, like discount sushi, or more things from the 99 yen shop or convenience store. I was younger when i lived in japan so i didn't have too much money, in the first year i was pretty poor so i would often just get one onigiri for dinner and no lunch and no breakfast. That's life. I'm still always looking for discounts, i guess it became my habit and i just worry about one day not having money, because of my past. I'm financially good or ok now.
When I was in high school my lunch was a microwave burrito and a soda. The burrito cost 50 cents and the soda 25 cents. It was the most delicious meal, especially since it was the only meal I had until I got back home. Right now the prices are so high you could probably get arrested if you walked in a 7-eleven with one dollar.

Sorry to hear. Gotta let it heal, you’re working too hard perhaps. Might have to get a mesh.

Many of us fellow weirdos are here for you, pal.
You are very handsome ☺️
Weirdo? ...Seems pretty normal to me
@@dukingproductions4729 He's Japanese and so he's hiding it. I'm Swiss so I can relate to that. Both cultures are high--imo TOO high--on conformity. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my read of it. BTW, being a weirdo aka non-conformist is not some bad thing. The vast majority of atrocities in human history happened due to people conforming with fucked up stuff.

That’s the reason why UA-cam was created. To see normal people just expressing her feelings and recording videos normally like this japanese. Congrats, my friend. Watching you from 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Hey man, don't worry, you aren't alone. We are all with you here.
I'm your friend, from Belgium!
Spending my Friday night the same way, not too bad when you can get yourself distracted from the fact that you’re lonely 😅 I also tried the pepsi and dorito combo instead of alcohol. It’s way better.
We are your friends ✊🏻. I am 41 years old and don’t have close friends to hang out with anymore, stay strong!!!
Thanks for sharing your day with us.
I had a good day with my sister, helping cleaning her work brushes for a busy schedule!
I've worked with two people from Japan over the last three years two of my favorite people I've ever encountered!
Keep fighting man, I really wish there was as much love in the world as there was years ago. You might feel alone but I understand the pain 💗
This guy talks about everyday boring things but makes it really engaging and relatable for the audience, I don't know how he does it, 😊
I feel you, man. I would love to pick up the 2nd controller and play alongside. We don't even need to talk, just fight. Just like Goku would want.
If you want to hang out , I'll be there soon for TGS and vacation
dude hates fridays so much, he just skips them.
He hates Fridays so much, they’re Saturdays in Japan.
Keep up the spirit my friend, your videos are great. We appreciate it, keep up the good work.
your english is very good and I love your videos. Thank you for sharing ur videos to us
Old lady here! This is also how I like to spend my Saturdays when I’m off of work. I’ll be playing ESO all day today and I’m so excited about it. Good to see I’m not the only one. Have fun out there everyone!
We are buddy あざす
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your world-too cool. Would love to talk history with ya sometime, too because of how prominent Japan is and was in times past.
Shout-out Nintendo!
It's midnight in my country when you post these videos and they make me to want to eat, but it's too late 😁😢😢
Europe?
@@small_fries7573 yes 😄
I am 19 years old lonely guy and enjoy watching your videos after work. Thank you
Lunch cost at 3:17. Lunch for $6-7 USD sounds good to me. When I worked in the financial district in Toronto lunch was closer to $25 CAD.
I am an American man living in Fukuoka. Im also married with kids. Your videos hit me hard. Can 100% relate to everything you say. Must be lots of us out there.
As a 40 year old English man. Your life is very similar to my life. We both live in a very expensive country. We both live with inflation. We both eat shit lunches because we think we can save some money. The repetitom, the boring lifestylw, the looking back at your youth ( I was a Sf2 master when i was 10 years old. Im in the mindset that we were just sold a dream that isn't reality. That being said, i love being a dad, i get some joy from providing money for my family, but.... I understand the grievance your feeling from the emptiness you feel of assuming the role of the father. I donr know hpw to solve the things that pain you. But the solice i can give you is that it really is the same everywhere in the western world
The only way I can reconcile with everything is, that this is just natural way, you give all your energy, physical, economical, phycologocally, just to ensure, that your children have a better life than you did. Thats it. That seems to be the whole reason
I think the pain we all suffer is that, this is all constructed by societal pressures. And that deep down is in conflict with our ego
The ‘hi’ in the beginning always has me 😭😭
Right it’s like what shit does he have for us today 😂but I enjoy watching him
I work during evening hours, and bring my dinner & beverages in a lunch box. It’s fairly expensive to keep up on buying or ordering lunch at wherever. Fast food has become almost more expensive as a regular sit down restaurant. I’m in Minnesota USA.
😊 I love this channel, 😊 much love from Senegal 🇸🇳
My lunch today cost 40 dollars. However I will take that home break it up into 4 meals and eat over time. I live in Australia. This is like a update of information in an ASMR format. He's not creating anyone else any issues, discussing his perspectives, sharing his experience. This man is a tropical island of respectful goodness and worthy nostalgia. Carry on sir.
Chapssal doughnut (seems similar to what you're eating) is SOOOOOO GOOD. First time I had it was as a kid at a Korean restaurant. I need to find it again!
average lunch here in sweden is like 12eur nowadays for me. food became much more expensive due to recent years of inflation.
You still have us, Sir!
That's the issue with most people. We're all lonely with the anxiety of making new friends.
I find I like people in theory, but rarely in practice. 😅

Now I can see why gut and stomach issues are most prevalent in Asian countries. People eat a lot of ultra processed foods and it is incredibly cheap and easy to get.
ehh.. ultra processed foods are also quite cheap and easy to get in America too. I don't think that's the entire reason.
@@omegashenron8 UK too. Obesity rates here are a joke. Millions of lazy junk-food lovers.
It's habitual the way we all eat junk. You need to literally stop entirely or eat it like once a week at most.
I agree, fruits, veggies and meat cuts are way more expensive compared to processed ready to eat food items. Unfortunately eating healthy is very expensive.
So one Japanese dude eats garbage and you've drawn that conclusion. That's imbecilic...hoping for your sake your brain isn't really that broken
This guy what I wanna be at 50. Keep rockin bro!
I plan to retire at the end of 2025 at 62 after 36 years in Telecom as a sales engineer. My wife will retire in May 2026 and she's loving life! But walking away from a good income stream and building the nest egg to living from the nest egg is a scary proposition couple with the alarming recession and CPI report
I work in Finland. We get subsidized lunches. The lunch in our cafeteria costs 7,55 €, which includes a side salad, bread and beverage (basically water, milk or soured milk). I still bring my own lunch.
My Brother…..you look a lot like one of my favorite martial artists and also one of my favorite actors of Ninja movies, the master himself ……Sho Kosugi. I really enjoy Your content Brother, especially your rendition of hotel California. I actually admire your life And your kindness and how you are loyal and loving to your family.
No wonder the population is almost unilaterally depressed.
even though Im a bachelor half your age I find your days very relatable
I've always liked the Japanese 7/11's as they are lot different to the 7/11's outside of Japan. Thankfully, 7/11 have recently announced they will be bringing their stores more in line with Japan, so we should start to see more Japanese foods. I'm not sure how extensive this will be, but looking forward to see what they offer and I hope we get items like this curry bread.
Love it , was inside tnite too and playing video games aswell 🎉🎉 we love you ❤
You are making me hungry! ( it's morning tea here in Australia) 🍩☕
I started playing Street fighter 2 because of you. Thank you 50-san
I will be visiting Japan and hope to eat at 711. The tour costs so much, I think I will watch my budget. Most of the cost of tour will be spent on airline ticket, hotel and tour companies.
The service workers will get very little of my spending.😢
He has a wife and kids. I don’t have a partner, no kids, and no friends. How on earth is this guy saying he’s lonely ? He has love ?
if you where not alone at home at the lunch time, which cool japan man make videos for us to watch. you give us happines brother keep doing your thing and let never ever someone tell you how to do things
Happy Saturday. Greetings from Malaysia.
Look like paradise to someone in a relationship
Hey @askjapan I live in Connecticut, it is a northeast state in USA. It has a very high average cost of living and on average I spend about 11.00$ USD for a lunch meal if I am buying from the Hospital I work at. If I were to prepare my meal at home I may spend as little as 8.00$ USD. Groceries for 1 month tend to cost around 200-400$ USD to last one month. Average rent where I live is 900-1500$ USD.
This guy has the kindest comment section. Would if it’s cos we can all relate to him
Our lives are somewhat similar . I'd bring my ps5 over and we will have fun. From Canada 🇨🇦 I'm basically hikikomori people bring me what I need. I love your videos. Makes me relate.
Bring your kids and wife for an outing dude. Its not like u r totally alone at home. Be grateful u have a wife and kids. A friend of mine (not in contact with him for more than 10 years already but ppl update me his current situation) in his early 50s already, no wife, kids, friends and that i could understand the depression he has.

Wish our 711 in Australia was a good as Japan's...would love to travel there some day
i live in france and id say that office workers pay around 10 euros for their lunch wich is like 1500 yens, so its not cheap but not too crazy..
personally i only pay 5 euros because im a student and you have special prices
Saturday night looks like this for a lot of men of all ages in the West too. We should put together a team. Avengers of Loneliness!
Your English is so good!
Game looks awesome! I’m playing Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster on Nintendo switch.
Would be nice to try the food's you have over there in Japan 🗾 they sound good from your descriptions of each food item.
You should build a game library on one of your walls if you haven't for your kids to enjoy in the future something you can leave behind for them to have fun and enjoy good times.
Missing the pastries in Japan. Every time I take a vacation there I buy famichiki or bento for lunch. Food is relatively cheap. Bro some Japanese husbands want to be alone and are are lonely. It must be getting common. Love the Streetfighter game💪🏻
7$ is not expensive for lunch.
In Los Angeles I pay minimum 10$ but it usually will be 15$+
Living in tokyo, i discovered the 99 yen shop and went there a lot.

They all need me at their events and in their lives constantly … that’s not even including my wife who is very high maintenance but has chilled out of the 18 years we’ve been married … sometimes I want to run away Japanese man … help me … I know it is all worth it though … keep going Japanese friend

Sending you positivity and hoping you enjoy your time spent this weekend. I love DBZ. So sad when Toriyama-Sensei passed I still miss him dearly and am looking forward to Dragon Ball diama
One bottle of water in USA cost me $3.30+tax at 7/11 inflation is bad in USA

In the San Francisco Bay Area, fast food will cost you $12-13. Anything healthier will be at least $20. Just awful...
It is a pity that you do not reply to any comments. I love your videos to be honest with you. They are very comfy and relaxing, so are the Japanese apartments 👍 Greetings from Poland ❤
The title says it all don't worry I'm your friend man I sometimes play some of my old games alone as well and feel the same as your title for the video @Askjapan 🙂👍
I cant believe this guy is 50 i never would've guessed
Hi, i made it to Ginza. I had dinner at Yoshinoya near Tokyo station and two old salarymen joined at 8pm. They looked like they'd be good buddies. A meal can be as low as $5 USD there. What was odd is it's a tiny shop with 12 seats but 3 staff. Food is ready 2 minutes after ordering.
