ali abdal talks about a method called “permissionless apprentice” if i remember correctly the concept is for example if i want to work with a UA-camr, I make an example of a thumbnail for one of his videos, and so that way I stand out from all the thousands of other people that are copying and pasting the same script for the same job application. It depends on the niche, for ex. when i look for small gaming channels, i do it in discord servers related to this niche, where these youtubers try to promote themselves

A smart approach I used is to create the thumbnail first, about 2-3 and send to them via email....and I got a 75% answer back rate
