    Would the ww eyelets work with the carbon fiber gunnels? My Northwind Solo has em and I’m thinking of adding lacing.. Not going to do ww, just big lakes :)

      You’ll have to adhere d-rings/daisy chains/web loops under yours. The alum has rivets, your gunnels are fused/adhered on. (Less hardware)

      @@HappyPaddlin Yeah.. drilling through the entire gunnel would be nasty. I guess I’ll just do the old fashioned drillholes below the gunnels. Looks a bit neater than the daisy chains

      @@k______________________ That works too! Haven't sourced good hole protector "rings" so your lines aren't just resting against sharp composites. Let me know what you use!

      @@HappyPaddlin You could use rubber/PVC cable grommets but that'd mean you'd have to drill a 6mm hole to fit in a 3mm cord, and the bigger the hole, the messier it gets with carbon fiber.
      I drilled 3mm holes under the gunwales and used 3mm polyester cord with a zero stretch dyneema core, and put nylon tubing over it to create loops. Nylon's not super UV resistant BUT it's much more slippery than PVC, which is good. A dyneema cord that doesn't stretch really doesn't move much at all so there's very little mechanical wear and tear :). I used 20mm nylon webbing for the actual lacing, added some buckles, and the end result is nice and tidy.
      I asked Northstar and they said they mostly use grommets for the visual appeal and there's very low risk of delamination as the holes are above water.
