- The Vex Network houses many characters we have yet to see. Sure its a reality twisted labyrinth of pathways and mystery, but as we’ve seen with the Conductor, others remain trapped, hidden and dormant in the Vex Domain. Today we speak of a strange entity called the “Great Quiet One”. Let’s take a look.

Deserves to be pinned, a Cayde-6 esque quote I'm upset I didn't get
two things,
1. what if the mask of the quiet one is somehow related to the great quiet thing. Maybe Satomi, the creator of the mask, was refering to the not-worm when she was talking about what she saw "right before death takes the light away", and that what she said about channeling its power, like how the hive channeled the power of their worm gods, maybe the helmet she made, and herself, channeled some kind of power out of the not-worm.
2. if that is the case, will we maybe see satomi finally? since the only mention of her is that helmet, kinda like how the only mentions of nezarek was the helmet with his name for years as well, both of which came out at the same time.

Are we sure it's "Not Worm" and not "Knot Worm" and a mistranslation between the species and "Knot" meaning Tied or complex and that within the context of Destiny and ontological entites: Knot= Entanglement (Quantum)?
I said it once and I will say it again. "The Great Quiet Thing" is much probably a simulation of Ahsa.

For context: before Destiny 2 came out, in one of Bungie’s videos, they had said something along the lines “wait until you see The Magician” to this day, we still have yet to see who this “Magician” is
That’s likely a placeholder name for Drifter. He’s the closest “magician” at this point. (See Gambit intros for that relation.)
Hopefully this Quiet Thing is like the Former from the game Control.
Man, if the Winnower decides to visit the Sol system that's going to be entertaining. I don't think it took too well The Final Shape shenanigans The Witness tried.
Possibly related to the entity guiding Maya’s research and development?
Edit: Actually most likely not. Maya’s ally is referred to as having a voice, that is a key trait. Might be off if a creature referenced with a voice would be titled “the Great Quiet One”.
I think a cool way for Bungie to tie this in so it’s not just a lore entry but relates to in game would be the new exotic mission coming in Act III. No direct confirmation or anything, but maybe this creature appears as a dark shadow beneath the constructs you walk across in the network during part of the mission. It wouldn’t move, and only those with keen eyes would notice it. This could bring some fun mystery back to D2, like how the worm that would eventually be revealed as Ahsa did on vanilla Titan.
The keen eye part could even be what Mara showed us in the Pale Heart of looking into other dimensions like we did in the missions with the Taken.
It seems bungie are going the Eldritch level threat route and I love that.
Im still surprised that in the multiple videos I've seen about this topic, no one has mentioned the aphelion....
The description we got about them was eldritch, it feels to for the most to me.

Here's an interesting point: In the Lightfall post-campaign with the Cloudstriders, we got correspondence from a Vex Construct that thanked us after we repaired all the gravestones before seemingly going back to sleep. Could be relevant to this 'Great, Quiet Thing'.
I wonder, could this 'Great Quiet One' be the final boss of one of the Final Shape Dungeons?
Just a crazy thought but what if when Quria simulated the sword logic what if in doing so it created a worm or not worm in order to understand how it works. that may also be why we have heard more from what could be Quria in the vex network
An ahamkara or something even older and more powerful than the proto worms. The Infinite Forest is going to become a Vex wishing wall.
Perhaps some kind of lovecraftian horror monster me thinks?

1 thing i notice everything you say in common…the “not-worm”. Can be SO many things. Is it a worm that was never a “worm” as we know them. A paracausal entity trying to mimic or want to appear as something? My god, anybody can think of something and maybe none of them are right…or not wrong. Imagination can go wild here. But did you realise my wording? There is nothing SPECIFIC, hence being absolutely anything!

Pretty edgy my dude, and they don’t evoke the massive gravity of the “Great Quiet Thing,” something as constant in its environment as the sun.
