Good review ! I just swapped out my Performance DPx2 for a Factory DHX (orange coil ) . Really makes a difference on high speed descents , big drops and jumps . No more harsh bottom outs .
@@OtterMTBtech It came with my bike , a 2021 Polygon Siskiu N9 . The DPx2 is more suited for cross country , not great for enduro . Had it rebuilt twice .
Youre prolly never gonna read this, but will a 230x62.5 dhx work on my 230x60 specialized status? the status also uses a yolk design and im going to be overstroking it as well
Nice Video 👽 I also had a Fox Float X Elite on my RAAW Madonna V2.2. The Performance was really good but it developed an annoying clunk noise. I send it in, der noise was away for 4 rides and came back. This seems to be a thing. Other than that a really good shock for AM and Enduro. I was thinking to try the new RS Suspension but after watching your videos I don`t want that. On my hardtail I ride a 150 mm RS Pike Ultimate (MY22) and I love it. But it is fast and not so plush. On my Enduro I rode Fox 36 Performance Grip (MY22) with the Float X Elite. The 36 felt so good I could not imagine anything better. Out of curiosity I got a Fox 38 Elite Grip2 (MY23) ... too stiff, louder and harsher. Sold it after 3 rides. So my next Enduro-build will be a 36 Performance with Float X again, I guess. (I sold the RAAW) Plus the Service of Fox is crazy good and fast in Germany. I send in 2 forks and 2 shocks and got them back in under 2 weeks.
Bro EXT it’s all I have to say. sell everything for one you will be changed forever from one ride on that stuff. Rock shock my 23 shocks need to be tuned for you and your bike. Otherwise they’re kind of rubbish. The old my 22 lyric wasn’t bad. Never heard about the clunk in the float X but that is the best thing for the bucks shock as you can buy them $200 used and euros converts the same that’s the same price.
You need a 2024. The 2024 one has a new different internal design. Fox will give you an exchange for free. Anyone with a 2021-2023 can get a free 2024.
@@SlimJ87D Tired of fox using us as beta testers....I also had a fox 36 with the slipping steerer tubes. I prefer the fox float x. People do not seem to realize fox suspension is the reason Shock Wiz was invented. No thanks for spending another month tuning my shock.

I just got my 22 Float x2 replaced with a 24! Showed up today qnd keen to give it a run this weekend! I need tk replace the orange decal though where did you get the purple decal on the DHX love that colour and will suit my Megatower well!
@@OtterMTBtech I never actually got to ride the 22! I bought it new from on online shop black friday sales, pulled it out of box went to let the air out and got squirted in the face with oil! Sent it to Fox and replaced straight away!! Coming from a Rockshox select on my Megatower so should be a big change.
Thanks for the interesting comparison. I'm just wondering what shock to replace my DPX2 in the modified 160fr/150rr version of Orbea Rise carbon. I'm hesitating between Float X Factory and Float X2 2024. What would you recommend for such a light e-mtb?
Thanks for the answer. I have Fox 36 with Grip 2. At the back I just added a Cascade link with 27% progression, so the coil should also work well. Initially, I was considering Float X and X2, but if X2 2024 is not significantly better than Float X, it might actually be better to test Float X and additionally DHX.@@OtterMTBtech
High speed rebound is really noticeable on rock shock vivid coil. It's really important for shit riders like me when pulling big drops and ballsing a large jump. It allows me to significantly reduce getting bucked. So I assume fox is exactly the same
@@OtterMTBtech i have a Trek remedy 8 2021 with a Fox 36 Factory in the Front and i wanted something that is more plush then the RockShox super Deluxe i have 220 Psi in it and for LSR 7 clicks, for HSR 3 clicks, for LSC 10 clicks and for HSC 7 clicks But without any tokens!
I was like yeah that’s a lot of compression, but no tokens. Probably rides great if you can get away with the no tokens Something special about trek remedy. Fun bikes

It fits fine, I have a 230x65 shock on mine . You need a progressive spring to make it work right

When you refer to the Fox Float X as a really good shock, is it the basic performance, performance elite, or factory model that you're referring to?
Have you considered to upgrade the Float X Performance with the low speed adjuster?

Never understood Santa Cruz putting that shock on ALL their bikes. The thing pedals like a hardtail. They should have SuperDeluxe coils

Depends on the fork. Fox or Rcokshox? Float X is plenty of shock for my 60 lb bike, so would be fine. DHX would make it more spicy on the downs hills.

Besides the headache of setting up a coil, it usually is best choice.
Cane Creek didn't invent twin tube damping. The Ohlins TTX preceded it in 2002.

Can you speak normally instead of a monster truck announcer.
😆 was trying something different
Why you speak like that? … the unjustified (or unreasonable) intonation is really something you do not need to do.
why you get mad like that?
Go make your own videos. Show us how good you are at intonations.
