    Could litterally see the difference in the 2 clears the way they flowed out always nice to have a save like that

    Another good video mate. I like that you are honest about the complications involved with SMART repair. Even though we use a lot of the same tools and materials as high end bodyshops the environments are completely different. Like me you are hard on yourself but I find it motivates me to become better. All the best Grant. Its a tough game but your doing great

    Wow I’m surprised to see an imperfection in the paint from factory, it just goes to show that nothing is 100% perfect, not even a brand new car, as always you smashed this out of the park Grant, making this lovely car look the part again😊.

      Trust me new cars are far from perfect. Many smart repair companies have "Dealer days" at main dealers. Brand new cars arrive with damage and are repaired on site. I would go as far as to say 3, maybe 4 in 10 have had smart repairs before a customer purchases there new car.

    That was a stunning job you did there Grant - fantastic to watch it being done from start to finish. I never realised how the paint colour was achieved, that’s an art in itself. And from the other comments I see you only charged what you did, that amazed even more. A job very well done. Respect to you sir!! ✊👍👏🚙

    Finishing on 5-600 is fine if your painting a solid colour I.e white /red blue if metallic you want to be around the 800 mark n 1000-1200 clear blending area I've painted a few light metallics and you can slightly see 800 through clear coat there's loads of methods but as grant says do what works for you 1 thing I will say Is bodywork n painting isn't for every 1 and it's hard graft sometimes 👍👍

    Hi Grant . New to your channel. Great videos with honest information. I've been running my smart business since 2007 but only fulltime since July 2021 after being made redundant from Honda in Swindon. I'm always being told to put my prices up. Buy keen to know how much you charged for the Audi A1. Especially when you said that you were done for the day after one repair 😄

    Yet again very interesting watching you do these repairs. One question - when mixing your paint and adding all the various tints, if you are slightly over with the amount of tint you add and have to take a little out with your thin bit of wood what if you accidentally take out a bit of the previous tint or tints with your stick will that not effect your mix ratio?🤔🤔

    • @grantssmartrepairs
      @grantssmartrepairs  2 роки тому +1

      It would possibly but I make sure I don’t as the way the paints sit on top of each other it’s quite easy to remove a bit 👍👍👍

    First class job as always Grant you are to fussy over your work to put out a job that isn't right 👌 very interesting watching you mix the formula up mate and made me feel better to know I'm not the only one that over pours the tints😆
    That looks like a water based scheme but I always thought you used solvent based 🤔 if it is water do you find it takes longer to flash off between coats when it's cold? that was the main reason I got my Kapci solvent based scheme 🙏👍

    • @grantssmartrepairs
