I agree that you don't need to remove the host bracket, just piston/ calliper housing .The disc/rotor will slip out once the counter sunk screw & pads are removed.

I've just replaced the rear discs on my daughter's 2019 A1 Sport back 1.4-litre, and it wasn't necessary to remove the caliper host or disconnect the handbrake cable, as, by freeing the disc and getting the angle just right, both sides came off, and the new ones went on, quite easily. Just as well really, as the caliper host was held on with torx bolts, for which I don't possess a large enough bit!

Massive thank you for this video. Iv changed a few brakes but not for a while. This video helped me out. Only hit a problem removing the brake caliper host, the Alan bolts had seized on. But now all fixed. Keep up the good work.

Especially if it’s difficult to push the piston back, If you get the rotor off, bolt the calliper back up lightly you have more control with the tool

This is a great video for showing what you will find once you get in there. No idea why it was so far down the list when I searched for almost exactly what the title is.
Quick tip for the future: use a bungee around the spring to suspend the caliper out of the way and avoid stressing the hose.
    Good job!

I use an old metal coat hanger to hold the caliper up out the way. 😜🤘🏻

What about the adaptation in the ECU to reset the rear brake? Did you do this off camera?

Bitte keine Kupferpaste an Bremsanlagen verwenden. Stattdessen ein metallfreier Schmierstoff wie Keramikpaste. Unter die Bremsscheibe gehört gar keine Paste.
